President Michael Sata has, with immediate effect, revoked the appointment of Hon. Elijah Muchima as deputy minister in the Ministry of Lands, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.

The Head of State confirmed the revocation of Hon. Muchima’s appointment during a swearing-in ceremony at State House today.

President Sata, who thanked Hon. Muchima for the services rendered to the nation during his tenure of office, wished the Mwinilunga West [Ikeleng’i] parliamentarian God’s blessings in his future endeavours.

And President Sata has appointed Kabompo East MMD member of parliament Hon. Danny Chingimbu as deputy minister and assigned him to the Ministry of Lands, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.

The Head of State wished Hon. Chingimbu success as he embarks on a new journey in his political career and service to the nation.

And, President Sata this morning swore in Mr. Palan Mulonda as Zambia’s Ambassador to the United States of America.

The President expressed confidence that Ambassador Mulonda will execute his duties to the satisfaction of the nation.

“The United States (US) is a very key development partner to Zambia. Therefore, we expect you, Mr. Mulonda to represent us very well in Washington DC. We wish you well as you embark on your tour of duty,” President Sata said.

Meanwhile,President Michael Sata has urged Zambians to show compassion and care to one another, especially to the needy this Christmas.

President Sata said though Christmas is mainly a period for celebration and family get together, people must find time to thank Almighty God and reflect on the purpose of Charismas.

“We should be persistently inspired by the life and deeds of our Lord Jesus Christ. And during this period let us all endeavour to extend goodwill, love compassion and care to each other, especially to those who are disadvantage or less privileged than ourselves,” said President Sata.

This is contained in a media statement released to the media in Lusaka today, by President Sata’s Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations, George Chellah.

Mr Sata further urged the Zambian people to use this period as an opportunity for reconciliation and service to others and more importantly give assurance and hope to one another.

“This is the time to reflect with pride and satisfaction that despite our different political persuasions, we have allowed a peaceful atmosphere to prevail in our country. This is how it should be and I implore all leaders to ensure that this status is upheld,” the President said.

He also counselled Zambians to avoid over-indulgence in order to minimise fatalities and human suffering during this festive period.

“Let us all conduct ourselves in a responsible manner and desist from behaviour that will endanger our lives and that of others. Zambia needs all of us and I therefore, urge all road users to observe traffic rules,” he said.

“I wish you all, my dear beloved compatriots, a merry Christmas and we pray that this will be a memorable day to us all.”

And President Sata has directed the police and other law enforcement agencies to strictly enforce law and order in the country as well as ensuring that there is sanity on the roads during the festive period.

  1. Next is BOB samakai, they were working closely with Muchima! They call sata Chipuba chabo! Have heard them speak on phone with Muchima teasing the President saying they were still MMD

  2. Those who accept these political appointments including Pro Chirwa are to blame for their own public humiliation. Political appointments, swearing-in ceremonies and sackings are the order of the day. ‘He wished Mr Muchima God’s blessings;, really?

  3. fire all the MMD depute min, they are so indiscipline to leave MMD and start sleeping with satana. you can not make friends with the devil, one day he will publicly sebanya you

  4. By the way all you haters Given is in the office today working as mandated by the president and people of kabwata…… seleni tubombeko

  5. Thank you for firing more people not related to you. Can’t wait to see Kalusha as new Sports Minister, since Kambwili is not fit to continue in his position.

  6. Getting fire on xmass eve must really be heart breaking…..I can imagine how the family of the fired minister feel about this bad news. Will they even celetrate xmass as such? I wonder!

  7. You see all these opportunist that Dictator Sata is appointing should learn a lesson from the humilliation of Muchima. Now Muchima never used to vote with the opposition, what happens now?If intelligent people like Situmbeko,Mutati,Lungwangwa,Muntanga,Machungwa and the Jack the great Mwimbu and Mweetwa have stood against this….Danny refuse before you are humilliatede next,,,,,mark my word….The serpent is unreliable remember Chanda Chimba

  8. The level of mediocrity in PF is stifling! We pray that our god hear the prayers of the faithful for the good, prosperity and lasting peace of in our nation.

  9. Every instituton has rules, if you break them expect to be thrown out.#7 kwasha, Lundas are gud pipo stop tribal sentiments that dont make sense.Bring out progressive ideas that improves governance.

  10. Of all the issues that need a statement or direction from him, this is what you get. This is very disappointing and I am beginning to think that this office is beyond his depth. The voices of reason such as Guy Scott and Chikwanda have realised that this man is not fit for this office and have simply chosen to keep quiet. Ati man of action LOL….

  11. well done honarable muchima you are a hero of northwesten for chingimbu whose sister is kabimbas prostitute the same way muchima has been treated it will happen to you we are watching who are treters and we will deal with them.

  12. Mr president sir .please do your home work properly some of your ministers are already building mansions within one year they are so rich.

His really good at creating districts, appointing and firing people with immidiate effect.

  15. we the people of ikelengi District thank the President for firing Muchima He grew big headed, he thought this is another M.M.D. Long live the President, long live P.F. Merry Mr President.

  16. No one is above Zambia. Every dog has its day. Muchima you are a man of morals compared to a lot . So retreat , organize yourself and come back either in MMD again or UNDP. We need that opposition to check these quacks. You have a lot of inside information which you can use to empower the opposition . Move on mudala.

  17. Sata lacks depth. His constant hiring/firing reveals lack of appraisal and organisational skills and that is not the mark of a great leader.

  18. It’s painful to watch and listen to this and try to make sense of the crop of politicians Zambia has. I am all for getting rid of people when they are proven to be ineffective however there seems to be a lack of incentive to change the would be lazy bums attitude.  In my opinion it speaks to the leadership- or lack there of-  in gov. when you constantly have to shuffle or revoke appointments.
We do see a lot of progress when it comes to their own welfare while they’re in gov. funny how that just happens. The opposition on the other don’t not seem to have  clue what they ought to do or what their role is in a ‘democracy’.

  19. I shed tears when the multicoloured army worms attacked my maize field. I called several people of rank but I got no help. Some how I see similar agitation by people who were hiding in the bush when Sata, Lubinda and Guy Scott were campaigning. Then PF wins and the army worms are champions now. Where were they during the fight against MMD.

  20. I saw it coming when i heard that North-Western PF cadres reported that Muchina is discouraging resignation of MMD councillors to PF. Muchima thats that way to do things and since when did Serpent Cobra Ukwa Sata CNP become a bird fellow? Serpent Cobra Ukwa Sata CNP is the worst and dullets leader Zambia has ever had. Warning to Zambians, there is no experience in politics, Serpent Cobra Ukwa Sata CNP claimed that he is the most experienced politicians but his deed disqualify him from being one but the most mediocrit leader Zambians voted. I recall one during my visit to Matero one woman told me that its fine to have voted for him even if ni chipuwa or silu cos we wanted MMD out. What a consolation of have voted a wrong man for a noble job.

  21. #33 you must be at a wrong site,we dont like such silly jokes on this site but progressive criticisim and alternative methods of governing that builds. The man is our president until 2016, advise him so he governs our nation better…just at mwanawasa’ funeral you will collapse if you are told how much money this poor nation lost due to the untimely death MHSRIP.Be careful what you wish for………..

  22. no he is not dead but seriously sick no wonder he cant show his face and send christmass wishes to the nation, but continously issuing statements from that ka mouth piece George chickala

  23. If you Zambians thinks Sata and his corrupt leadership are playing you are in for a rude shock. From your useless and meaningless comments you are passing in support of this fanatic Sata, you are playing with fire. For us who experienced the evil man Kaunda’s UNIP and his vigilante type of government, Zambians can not sleep why this evil man Sata are raping and destroying democracy, the next time you wake up, you will find that has started to kill opposition leaders and his paranoid perceived enemies like the way IDI AMIN did in Uganda in the 1970s.

Its time Zambians realize that is not up to any good, he is just waiting for Zambians to be sleep while he rapes our money using his family companies.

    What a shame!

  24. Since Sata is a corrupt dictator and he is denying Zambians their free speech and freedom of association as enshrined in the constitution, its time Zambians start using the Social Media to communicate with every Zambians against the nepotism and dictatorship of Sata and his corrupt dictatorship.

Zambia was the first Country in Southern Africa (and the only country South of Africa) which used the Arab spring type of change of government to remove Kaunda’s dictatorship in the 1990s.

It can do it even this time against Sata’s dictatorship.

The social media worked well against dictators, in the Arab spring, its time Zambians even opposition parties uses FACEBOOK, TWITTER, and other social media to mobilise against Sata and his corrupt PF leadership.

  25. I salute HH for refusing to be used by Sata in the so called pact. I have started understanding the man Sata is CNP & very greedy, selfish, tribalist, dictator etc

  26. Can the Western world or any one who can help us, empower Zambians in the use of Social media to organize opposition to this tin Pot dictator as the social media was used during the Arab spring?

It will be difficult and expensive to rebuild democracy in Zambia after it is destroyed by this evil man Sata and his evil corrupt PF leaders the dictator Sani Abacha did to Nigeria.

Sata is not different from Sani Abacha of Nigeria.

It took courage to kill Sani Abacha using a prostitute.

  28. Please let our president do his job. This time around we do’nt want MMD-type of work culture.

Whoever is lazing around in this government or showing elements of perfidy should be kicked out and go faster than he/she came!
