Kanyanta Unveils Under-20 Boxing Roadmap

Zambia national under-20 boxing coach Kennedy Kanyanta says he is looking forward to see youngsters who impressed at the Zone 6 Games participate in major competitions such as the All Africa Games and Commonwealth Games.
Kanyanta said there is need to keep the boxers in shape ahead of upcoming competitions.

He said the under-20 technical team has drawn up periodical camping schedule for the boxers in a bid to keep them fit.

The Commonwealth Games will be held in 2014 in Scotland while the All Africa Games are scheduled for Congo Brazzaville in 2015.
“The next target is the All Africa Games and the Commonwealth games in 2014,” he said.
“We have lined up a number of campings in spells for the guys who just won the Zone 6.”

He also called for more support to boxing.

“To government and the corporate world they should support us, they should not look at boxing as a minor sport we bring the nation together,” Kanyanta said.
