THE ruling Patriotic Front (PF) on the Copperbelt has dared Forum for Democratic Process (FODEP) executive director MacDonald Chipenzi to come out in the open and state his political affiliation and agenda.

In a statement made available to the media, Copperbelt Province PF youth chairperson Menyani Zulu said Mr Chipenzi should state his political affiliation instead of hiding behind the noble ideals of his organisation.

“For a long time Mr Chipenzi has used FODEP to champion the agenda of an opposition political party to extent that he has often times strayed into commenting even on issues that are basically none of his organisation’s business,” he said.

Mr Zulu accused Mr Chipenzi of failing to discpline himself against the temptation of falling prey to partisan interests but he has been in a hurry to disparage the PF Government by taking unresearched positions on important national matters.

“The PF knows Mr Chipenzi’s masters who are passing money to him through the backdoor. His shameless conducted has turned FODEP into a sham and embarrassed the donors who are sustaining its fading mission,” he said.

Mr Zulu said Mr Chipenzi should resign from FODEP and openly declare his support for a political party of his choice because it was no longer possible for him to hide his political affiliation.

“It is lack of principles for the FODEP director to allow hunger and poverty to dictate his decisions and take the organisation hostage instead of allowing it to serve its clearly stated objectives,” he added.

Efforts to get a comment from Mr Chipenzi proved futile as his mobile phone went unanswered by press time.

  1. PamaFi cadres, be reminded that Zambia has a population of 14.2 million people. And 99.99% of them do not have any political party affiliation. Nevertheless 100% of Zambians have the RIGHT to comment on the political direction and/or politics of the country. Zambia does not belong to PF , MMD, UPND etc. These Parties will come and go; the only constant will be the country called Zambia and her citizen! So you f.oo.ls are better adviced to fcuk off!

  2. If Chipenzi like the Post Newspapers were singing PF slogans, would this Menyani Zulu be condemning him.PF has successfully scared the usually vocal NGOs into cowards without any sense of shame and disgrace.Fortunately,FODEP is not one of those sheepish NGOs.Keep it up Chipenzi.

  3. Chipenzi is ED for foundation for democratic Process (FODEP). His role is to watch over democratic tendances and comment on the gaps and successes. Please let all Zambians fight any vises that can kill our democracy. Mr Chipenzi please keep speaking without fear or favour. All other NGOs in governance have died and we only have FODEP which is also limping due to limited funding.

  4. U want everyone to shower praises on u??? Is it a crime to speak against the govt where it matters? Who are u to question his Political affiliation?? Leave Chipenzi alone pliz, just becoz u hav paid everyone who praises u does not mean the opposite is true. Foooools who are patriotic foolishly!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Under pressure! Sata Sata Satana! Surely Sata is an illiterate imbecile President Zambia has ever had! Without his appoiting his relatives as Ministers in his government all this nepotism in the running of the government in Zambia, would have happened!

All these exobitant price increase of Mealie Meal would have seen the Minister of Agriculture being fired and replace with someone who can deliver, but because the Minister is his relative, Lusaka Times reported that, “President Sata took a swipe at senior government officials accusing them of failing to address the problem of high Mealie meal prices”

Surely Sata thugh is an illiterate and impotent President, should speak in the singular and not pluralistic as if every Minister is responsible for the mess in his government.

    Shame

All these exorbitant price increase of Mealie Meal would have seen the Minister of Agriculture being fired and replace with someone who can deliver, but because the Minister is his relative, Lusaka Times reported that, “President Sata took a swipe at senior government officials accusing them of failing to address the problem of high Mealie meal prices”

Surely Sata though is an impotent President, should speak in the singular and not pluralistic as if every Minister is responsible for the mess in his government.

    Shame

  7. Mr Zulu before you make noise first check your facts, what about the POST NEWS PAPER and what about FATHER FRANK BWALYA? Its only fair that the OPPOSITION should also have its supporters and mouth pieces considering the fact that every time the OPPOSITION speaks cadres hiding under Zambia Police Colonial Uniforms arrest them under the pretext of Public Order Act, it is he Sata who needs Order in his BIG HEAD full of WATER.

  8. #2 Goncalves, well said. It has come to a point where if anyone comments on the political direction of the country, these party political demagogues demand to know which one of the so called parties one supports. It appears no one else apart from them is supposed to talk about the politics of our country. We love our country but we hate the politics of all the current parties! HH is nothing but a common tribalist, Mumba is an opportunistic thug and Sata is just an out and out populist thug!

  9. No dictator in history has ever coward critics in fear of submission. Not even Idi Amin nor Kenneth Kaunda who were the worst dictators in Africa and killed a lot of innocent Africans,

Read history if Kaunda has been recognised in the history of Africa as a whole? KK is known as a dictator and a butcher.

Sata and his coward PF leaders will never succeed to put fear in Zambians.

Soon put will start rioting against Sata because of his KK (Kaunda style) type of Dictatorship and communism of government. For his ignorance and lack of good leadership he want to blame innocent Zambians businesses people> This wont work but will work against him.

Viva the power of Zambians people.

Soon people will start rioting against Sata (as we did in 1986 and 1990) because of his KK (Kaunda style) type of Dictatorship, high Mealie Meal prices and communist of government.

For Sata ignorance and lack of good leadership he want to blame innocent Zambians business people. This wont work but will work against Sata.

  11. Fellow Zambians i have a question!

How did former Presidents Mwanawasa and Rupiah Banda manage to prevent Mealie Meal shortage and price sky rocketing as it is under this illiterate President Sata and his nepotism government?

The only thing Sata has managed is to bring back Chiluba and Kaunda’s old days of Mealie Meal high prices and Mealie Meal being USED AS A POLITICAL TOOL to make poor Zambians suffer and die of curable diseases like malnutrition!

Surely even if us Zambians were docile its time for us to demonstrate against Sata’s nepotism and dictatorship as we did in 1990 of Kaunda’s autocratic and dictatorial rule as Sata and Kabimba approach is now?

Viva the power of Zambians! Aluta continua!

  12. Fellow bloggers, we need to help heave these PF guys into AT LEAST the 18th Century because bringing them up to speed to what is REAL in today’s world might kill them with shock. However – if we can – let’s shock them with 21st Century REALITIES!!! Everyone must be free to do what he within his rights and freedoms because this kind of behavior disappeared in 1991! YES! Goncalves #2 puts it just as it is!

  14. When are we going to start dwelling on issues and not individuals? Menyani’s utterances should really not pass as newsworthy unless the reporters deliberately left out the substance upon which the quoted remarks were drawn from. Otherwise, this is too easy. It is like anyone can say anything about anyone.

    • Zebeige or whatever you situpiti name is, please stop making an arse of yourself! Posting under different aliases won’t mask your !diocy. A pig with lipstick is still a pig!

  15. A Menyani Zulu, you shock me with your demand of blind loyalty from McDonald Chipenzi. Blind loyalty will never move our country forward especially if you the youth can think like you Menyani.

Let Chipenzi be free in thought. He does not have to support PF all the time even when he does not agree with the general party thinking as expressed by leaders like you Menyani.

    Food for thought.

  16. Checks and balances are the life blood of democracy and FODEP are spot on. What if his tribe was Mutale; would Menyani PF Zulu complained?  Dictatorship eats its own ba Zulu. Don’t support PF dictatorsip.

  17. The same chipenzi was not a cadre when him and fodep supported Pf last year. Soon we will hear Pf start questioning new TIZ president to tell the nation the party he supports just because he is tonga, yet Pf never questioned him when his saccord them supported them. Fr Bwalya was never labeled despite his open support for Pf. Looks like it is a curse to be a tonga in this country. One lecturer at hone, a mr. Hamasaka was fired when HH visited the college and even fired his wife

  18. This all goes to prove that the PF system is frightened of the opposition. Chipenzi is a thorn in their flesh for advocating principles of democracy. Incidentally, only recently one of the top funders of PF (W. Nsanda) has just confirmed that Wynter Kabimba was NOT elected, but rather merely appointed to the post of PF’s Secretary General. Hence there was no democratic process that ushered-in the current PF Executive Committee – if it ever exists at all. So far, after the disgrace that fell on Dr. Ngoma, the new FODEP leadership has has raised this NGO’s integrity. The PF cadres would like to be showered with praises even when their top leaders have been infected with several serious cases of corruption. Chipenzi is merely doing his job – and administering it well too.
