USA-based striker Chinedu Dike leveled scores with a fine left footed strike in the 53rd minute cancelling out Sergio Gonzalez’s 3rd minute penalty.
The trophy is handed to the visiting team in case of a tie after 90 minutes.
Nigeria face Africa Cup debutants Cape Verde on January 9 at their camp in Praia,
Portugal before heading down to Nelspruit.
Burkina Faso on the other hand takes on Niger in Nelspruit on January 11 before playing South African league champions Orlando Pirates on January 16.
A friendly against Tanzania is in the works but has yet to be confirmed.
And Ethiopia are in Qatar starting on Saturday where they will face fellow finalists Tunisia on January 7 just eight days after beating Niger 1-0 in Addis Ababa.
Meanwhile, Zambia takes on take on Angola on Saturday in Johannesburg at Dobsonville.
Zambia will follow this up three days later on the 8th with a date at Rand Stadium against Morocco.
Bring it on, am confident Zambia will perform better again.
