Mr. Rayford Mbulu

Kalulushi Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister of Labour, Rayford Mbulu, suspects his former girlfriend is gifted with a spirit of insults.

Mr Mbulu, who yesterday appeared before Lusaka magistrate, Alice Walusiku, told the court that he wondered why Salome Mulenga brought herself back after she heard of his rise and recent achievements in the political arena soon after leaving the trade union leadership.

Mr Mbulo, who summoned Ms Mulenga for use of insulting language Contrary to Section 179 of the Penal Code Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

Particulars of the offence are that on May 14, 2012, while in Lusaka, Ms Mulenga conducted herself in a manner likely to provoke Mr Mbulu as to cause him to breach the public peace.

Mr Mbulo in his testimony said he was surprised to note that Ms Mulenga, the former girlfriend, accused him of infecting her with HIV/AIDS despite having an intermittent relationship with her and further threatening his life.

He told the court that in 2009 he met Ms Mulenga in Siavonga when he went to carry out strategic planning for the Zambia Congress of Trade Unions.

He said the two had an intermittent relationship from 2009 to 2011.

Mr Mbulu said last year after the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), he lost his phone and during that period he decided to use his wife’s hand set.

He said during the time he used his wife’s phone and SIM card he received massages from Ms Mulenga threatening him.

Mr Mbulu further produced his wife’s Samsung phone as part of evidence where he printed out two text messages as evidence to the threats he received from Ms Mulenga.

“Tell your hubby to switch on his phone, I don’t want to follow him to his work place,” stated one of the text messages on March 11, 2012.

Another text massage read, “Tell your hubby that since he does not want to face me in a polite way, he will face me in a rough way and University Teaching Hospital is waiting for casualties” sent on January 24, 2012.

He further told the court that it was such threats that forced him to report the matter to the police.

Mr Mbulu explained that Ms Mulenga further forced her way into his office and started insulting him and kicking furniture.

Meanwhile, defence lawyer Sakwiba Sikota wondered why Mr Mbulu maintained that their relationship was intermittent when Ms Mulenga was pregnant and subsequently had two miscarriages as a result of the sexual relationship between them.

Mr Sikota wondered why Mr Mbulu produced a phone which was not his at the time of the incidents, adding that the appropriate person to produce such evidence should have been the wife if at all she complained anywhere.

In Response Mr Mbulu told the court that he produced the phone as evidence because at the time he was in custody of his wife’s phone because he lost his mobile phone.

Tempers flared during cross examination when Mr Sikota asked Mr Mbulu if for sure he was not HIV positive, adding that the same issue was discussed at Cabinet Office when Ms Mulenga reported the matter to the minister.

In cushioning the incident Public Prosecutor, Zacks Yume, that Mr Sikota withdraws the statement as that was surmount to interference into the plaintiffs private life.

However, Magistrate Walusiku adjourned the matter and instructed that the said mobile phone be temporary released for use by Mr Mbulu as he was scheduled to travel out of the country on national issues at 14:00 hours yesterday.

The matter has since adjourned to February 25, for continued cross examination.

    • I agree there is no witness that women is just a frustrated jetted lover who thought Mr Mbulu would divorce his wife for now she can’t believe she opened her legs only for HIV and abortion. I for one like when such things happen to girls who play with married men.

    • @Mushota, you also talk sense?! This must be 2013.

People laugh at those who stick to their wives and do not sleep around but look at this mess!

ZCTU should be ashamed that the man who went to do “strategic planning for the Zambia Congress of Trade Unions” actually went to mess around with Salome. This is the quality of leaders we have put in power. If it was in another country, this man would have resigned in shame.

    • So the word INTERMITTENT these days means ” Unlikely or impossible to result in infection of one sexual partner by another and/or result in pregnancy”? And this is a ministerial understanding of this word ……. So scary!!!

  1. Okay looks like we have new research findings from PF Deputy Minister that if you have an INTERMITTENT relationship with somebody, you can’t give them AIDS.

    • Yes Observer, it helps to have a learned Deputy Minister who is a great asset in fighting AiDS. All our Ant-Aids billboards must now read: “ABSTAIN, Use EITHER a CONDOM or indulge in unprotected INTERMITTENT sex” how about that?

  2. Mr Mbulu you are a big fool how honestly can you use your wife cell phone calling a hooker? by the way your hooker is she a black American girl, because only black American girls are known to be sarcastic, they don’t give a fake they insult. you not a smart man dude.

    • From the story she is not a black American. And from the name she is must be Bemba and very Zambian. She must one of these girls who crawled from the gutter. Tribe has nothing to do with this kind of behaviour.

Are these the type of ministers we have in this government?

  3. mbulu wadya na kupaya, hahahahah, your friends appreciate beauty. you donot insert your live wire and kill youngs girls… HIV+? is it the reason you maintain potato cut?

  4. Mwebantu, let us not attack the man in this manner. he may also have a point-please give him a benefit of doubt. the lady is reportedly to have been quiet until the man his risen to public life. her approach is also too aggressive and undiplomatic. the man might just be a victim of blackmail- believe me, this is gradually becoming common in Zambia. so let us wait.

  5. wander how people with questionable morales are allowed to ascend to power a screenin process must be established to prevent such characters from embarrassing not only the appointin authourity but the nation also.

    • @ Get Real…. The answer is there will be no one left!!

Just like the late Michael Jackson told Oprah in an interview about plastic surgery that ” if all that have done plastic surgery were to leave hollywood, ther will be no one left in town”

The sad story in Zambia these days unlike the past is that even married women are so unfaithful… its unbelievable!! They do it so openly and without any sense of regret or shame..,its like a disease outbreak

The most important thing here is that we have to be faithful to our partners

      God help us

  6. There are still people who have bapambali this time when there is HIV/AIDS!!! Mbulu grow up and stop messing around with any woman who comes your way or else you will put your innocent wife into problems if you have not already done so!!!!

    • if that was the criteria used to drop ministers, then we would remain without any minister. and by the way,,,, if you knew the things these guys do???especially those in the immediate past government.. shame

    • The biggest problem in Africa is morals. For sure this guy should be asked to go on leave until this stupid case is over. And you even call him minister what a shame.

  7. Its very sad to note that a married man is freely talking about his marital affair openingly….you married dont cheat on your wife PERIOD…… four of my friends are taking ARVs without their wives knowing this is not right…Christian or non Chirstian its wrong to do that to your wife who gave up her entire life, tribe, family and friends for you….Shame Mr minister and to anyone who cheats on his wife…Absolutely rubbish

  8. YOU STARTED THE FIGHT MAMBALA DEAL WITH IT, YOU AT FOUGHT IWE CNP. YOU MARRIED AND U STILL FCUCKIN AROUND, U GOOD FOR NOTHING MP

  9. ukutemwa ntumbwi muli water , mwakulalapila, and Zero boys NO. 10 Please ensure that you inform your friend’s wives that they ve been living a black lie. By keeping such an evil secret you equally committing a terrible one.

  10. Who doesn’t know that this man is HIV positive?? Us on the copperbelt knew it at the time he was MUZI president. Women Please,Going out with married men is risky business, This Woman is sick because of LOVE of money, she knew he was married…

    • Thanks to all those who are blaming the minister alone. Sex involves more than one person. How do we know she only had sex with Mr Mbulu and not that she was getting pregnant by another and only letting the richer man foot the bill. Pathetic Minister and Pathetic girlfriend and she is not even a girlfriend more woman friend.suffer the fruits of your adultery pela.

  11. …how she and Sakwiba proves she got the HIV from will be interesting. Hmmn Sakwiba is onto anything anti-PF even chigololo – very interesting: azabasiliza bonse! It’s an interesting fight back.

  12. Don’t condemn Mbulu sometimes double tobela is important 99% of married male bloggers here have done this before including me. off-course protection is vital just make sure you protect yourself every time you have extra marital sexx. AIDS is real

  13. This story except the photo caption, is also reported in the ZWD word by word, full stop by full stop, comma by comma etc. Are you the same?

    • Do these publications have editors, when you send them an sms to report they will just copy it the way it was sent. Armatures of the worst kind. No spell check, no research, no additions, just copy and paste. But thank God we have them coz they have better articles than times, daily mail and post.

  14. Teach them a lesson woman!I’m sure men will be scared now of extra marital affairs for fear of being harrassed!Minister your children are reading this so shameful!MCS is not ashamed of apointing such people as birds of the same feathers fly together!

  15. I have 3 kids outside marriage with the same lady.
I last met my girlfriend months ago. I and my wife are still negative according to the test results of last week!
Mr Attorney, you cannot serve TWO masters, Law and Politics, you will always be biased or your questions will be skewed like in this case!

  16. What a big shame!!!!!when he is suppose to be the role model for young people seriously!!!!!
Immorality at its highest. I feel sorry especially for the wifey . I hope its a lesson learnt for those big madala’s in top offices.

    • Sure – it’s normal in Zambia to bring disease home to your wife. That’s why there are so many orphans living on the streets and with extended family.

The dick is the boss! Right, big boy?

  17. I would never date a black man. Why refuse when he made her pregnant twice?

Ms Mulenga should try , anyone but a zambian black man

    Thanks

    • Ba Mushota, even white guys behave the same but in a different way, they say ” take it out, or remove it”, then take you to an abortion clinic, if you refuse, you are on your on. Dont bring colour to matters of the heart we are all the same but react and behave differently, bushe are you in a comma? you seem to be out of touch!
As for that stupid minister, he should step down, what a disgrace!

    • mushota you so backward with a small brain her a croc,, yes bean size brain. Its not about race its about character and what people call love, Driving home that point of love, sex and respect as one package on a personal level…, i appreciated white women beauty but i never think that black women are less sweet,… and if you didnot know white guys have generally small dicks, there will always leave you hunging, hahaha. black men are always big, strong and reliable

    • Your C.u.n.t ka Mushota, both my hubby and ka boyfriend are black and I enjoy them especially my ka young boyfriend,ah iwe, kali naikulu not like your ka Nick’s,like the ka last finger, unganvele vichani?!!!!

  18. Who will never be dropped. If anything I expect Zondwe to elevate him to full cabinet minister of the newly re-aligned ministry if “Sansamcation Good Milile”. I mean, Zondwe sired bastards with Ms Mutale while Kabimba created one from his sperm chamber now at Tourism. The only ministers in this Cabinet without concubines are Kasonde and Scott, the rest are “chewing offside” and 90% of them are HIV positive. That is why they will cling on to power no matter what, they are vouching for state funerals.

  19. Bakonda cigololo banthu mu Zambia.
The wife is silent, maybe because she is wearing the suffer ring or she also has her own private life.
Seriously, a person does not go to seek other sexual partners if there is no problem in the marriage. This was told us long ago by the elders. It takes TWO to fault, so don’t just blame the poor half Minister.

  20. PF seem to be in everything especially wife + concubines(even Sata), wife molesting, PF NEC concubines + man friends, thieving ministers + corrupt cadres+ HIV infestors, everthing goes in this government. SHAME, SHAME, SHAMELESSLY DICTATORIAL.

    • I dont think what you are saying is only confined to PF but to Zambians in general – unless you are too biased to see. For instance how many HIV ministers, thieves, womanisers etc where in the MMD government? What about George Kunda, Felix Mutati and co?

  21. Now, you who are throwing stones at Mbulu: who among u has never committed the sin of either fornication (for u that are not married) or adultery (for the married)? I challenge you to factual & very honest!

  22. The wages of sin is death that is what the bible says.Resolve the matter amicably minus you dragging yourselves in the courts of law

  23. Ati “when i went to Siavonga to carry out strategic planning for the Zambia Congress of Trade Unions” ? Shameless *****

    • There is no kusebana here….we all do this when we have work shops. My ka boyfriend always accompanies me during these trips, whether it is chaminuka,Siavonga…… while my hubby remains home! there is nothing wrong, tht’s the way we get by!!!!

  24. Even where he is going on govenment duty , he will again infect someone he will admire. Please women always try by all means to escort your hubbies, whether buz/ Govmnt / church meetings.for the court to release his phone it was not a good idea.

  25. Ala all of us would burn in hell as far as fornication/adultery is concerned. It is just God’s grace which will set us free. So for now, leave Mbulu alone. Public office does not mean he can zip his trousers. Whoever has a lock on his trousers, put his hand up. You traitors, stop it.

    • Ubepelefye……some us have no enticing features to attract married men since we stopped caring about our looks after the babies came 🙁

  26. Changa baseka uwacelwa!! Mbulu don’t move around with prostitution agenda. You mean you went to Siavonga to do Analysis of prostitution or that was just an added travelers responsibility you were involved in?

  27. 23.3 Mr Zedman you have made my day! Can u help me with the website of ZANIS – the source. Copy right journalism is the order of the day in Zambia.

23.2 If source is Portuguese, how could Zambians report the story? Plse help?

  28. Zambian men know that their wives will suffer silently in matters of ubuchende because of ifunde. But this should come to an end. Heart break knows not virtosity. Time to break the silence ladies. This case is an example of a man trying to redeem his wrong doing in an attempt to mend his fiascal of a marriage by being bold and bringing GF to court.

  29. So ninshi ba Ms Mulenga wanted ba Mbulu to disinfect the HIV virus? They both knew what they were doing. Live ‘secks” is no these days. Was here motive to trap Mr Mbulu by getting pregnant twice. She was really determined eh! Iyo mukali sana chikashana. “We had an intermittent relationship. I met her in Siavonga where I went for trategic planning for the Zambia Congress of Trade Unions”. Awe ba Mbulu, mwapaapa kalama boss. So imwe ku Siavonga you did not know that it is a haven of prostitution? Ba Mbulu naba Salome, you both asked for it. Ba Salome, why report to the minister, what did you want him to do? Ba Mbulu, why take her to court? It should have ended at Cabinet office, but we all know now.

    • there is a famous italian saying which goes as follows; ‘all women are prostitutes, except my mother.’ this would go as follows for men; ‘all men are ******* without exception.’

    • You never know what Mbulu used to tell the woman in question. You cant blame the woman though. If anything the woman tried to settle the matter even before Mr. Mbulu became a public figure now it has just become an added advantage to press for Mbulu’s reaction. But all in all, Mr Mbulu please use condoms. If Mr. Mbulu was HIV- he would have come out in the open to say she is lieng because am negative. It simply means now we know his status.

  30. The one 2 blame in this kafwafwa is none other than willy. He gets excited at any given chance.I’ve owaz wanted a sterilisation but i opted 4 circumcision which has made him 2 b slangered bcz he is less sensitive.Coming 2 the story, i wld want the woman 2 produce her HIV test results prior 2 meeting Mr Mbulu. My conclusion is that extramarital affairs are not gud as the bring prblmz at the end.

  31. I think Mr Mbulu hadt all the time in the world to resolve the differences he had with this ratherthan going to court.

I know this type of women, they are sweet and tight but they become very emotional and tend to lose manners when the man they want is playing hide and seek.

The only thing this woman is interested in is spill the beans (TUFILILE MUNSENGA) coz he is a Minister.

Of all the lawyers, why does Sakwiba the only guy and in forefront to deal cases which are “political” in nature.

  32. How can this same Salome afford to have Sakwiba Skota as her Lawyer?
Meaning she is well off and not just a Gold digger, so she may have some truth in what she is saying.

  33. Tempers flared during cross examination when Mr Sikota asked Mr Mbulu if for sure he was not HIV positive, adding that the same issue was discussed at Cabinet Office when Ms Mulenga reported the matter to the minister.

  34. i pity d/minister. Its no laughing matter coz most of us men are so careless wen we av a little cash. Thats why its commönly known that ‘money is the root of evil…’ mbulu is beta off than most of us coz our wives see us as very honest darlings and yet we are double devil incarnates.

  35. Miners are busy contributing money and you are busy using it for buying sex, this is the end result to get HIV AIDS. This is a lesson to you union leaders especially by MUZ and UMUZ be careful. Sikufele go for test pantu naiwe you are a sex machine.Twakulamutipafye so that you get wiped out by AIDS by stupid.

  36. Whats with old people in Zambia still trying to compete on the market? You have a wife, some grey hairs behave like the respectable person society would like to imagine you to be. Not ubuchende namubukote, umuchinshi kupwa nakapuba konse kumi shoba ati Mudala ni wa nyele uyu. Whats wrong with you? Let the dick rest man!

  37. If one gives self to public service,i believe his intergrity especially concerning moral stance should be above the avarage masses. If a man cannot be trusted within his house he inhabits, how can you intrust him with national responsibility which involves the masses who are strangers to him.?

  38. Typical of Chilenje girls. They date 2 or more men at a time. They will sleep with a well to do man and make sure they get pregnant from a kaponya. Then the responsibility is put on the guy with money. They will already know they are HIV +ve and use that as a blackmail for the man. They issue threats of all kinds to get money and support.

This is not the 1st case I have heard of from the same chilenje compound. It appears this formula is working for a syndicate of girls there. I sympathise with Hon. Mbulu and his wife.

  39. Former girl friend…..and when did she become a former only to accuse mbulu this time.Who knows she must have been going out with other non public figures too.typical prositute

  40. Please can our politician start putting on matebela.please to our country can we stop this stupid unsafe sex its a shame.

  41. It is in public domain that ba Saki nabo balweele. He is also +ve. He was a man friend to one of my late unties, untie Mary who died of akasisi in 2009.
