Mighty Lose In League Opener

‘Mighty’ Mufulira Wanderers have kicked off their 2013 FAZ Division One North campaign on a low note after losing 2-1 to National Assembly on Saturday.

This was in a Week One match played at Kachofa Stadium in Mufulira on Saturday.

Assembly left it late to beat Wanderers with striker Brian Chilando scoring the winner five minutes before full time.

Veteran striker Morgan Hanjema had put the ‘Parliamentarians’ in front with an early goal before Panji Kalulu equalised for the Mufulira outfit few minutes before the half time break.

Besides, Chilando and Hanjema, star-studded Assembly paraded several experienced players among them Newa Mwewa and Joe Lungu.

Meanwhile, Wanderers have temporarily shifted from Shinde Stadium, which is under rehabilitation, to John Kachofa Stadium the home of their sworn enemy Mufulira Blackpool.
