Kapumbu: I Will Work Hard After Zambia Call-up

Share

New Chipolopolo call-up Fackson Kapumbu says he is not shocked to be included in the Zambia squad for the 24 March World Cup qualifier against Lesotho.

The Zanaco defender is in the 23-member team that is scheduled to regroup in South Africa on Sunday ahead of the away World Cup qualifier set for Maseru.

In an interview, Kapumbu told LT Sports that he had been looking forward to play for Chipolopolo.

“I am very happy to be called to the national team. I want to play against Lesotho,” he said.

“I am going to work hard in camp because I want to be in the starting line-up,” Kapumbu added.

Other local players in the squad are keepers Racha Kola of Zanaco and Joshua Titima of Power Dynamos, midfielder Mulenga Mukuka (Power), midfielder Rodrick Kabwe (Zanaco) and striker Bornwell Mwape (Nchanga Rangers).

  1. I don’t know the lad, but it’s good to know that something is being done about the shaky defence we displayed in the nations cup tournament. Keep it up Chipolopolo and Good luck! But hey, soccer has changed so much. There were times when one didnt need the actual match to be played to know the result of a Zambia-Lesotho encounter. The only unknown about a Zambia victory would be its MARGIN !

  2. Big up to Fackson Kapumbu and the entire squard, thats a good call ba Renard and FAZ there could have been a strong combination if Salulani was also included. Watchout Lesotho. Go Zambia Go till Brazil 2014

  3. Herve renard has called quality players its now up to them to fight 4 the first eleven..we have no time to start pointing fingers at one another neither do we have time to talk of those who haven’t been called to the squad, let’s all be behind the boys with one voice, chipolopolo all the way.

  4. we have a problem with our strikers if we can just work on that will see our national team going very far.lets gave chance to all up coming strikers please.good lucky guys for sunday game.
