Electoral Commission of Zambia(ECZ)spokesperson Cris Akufuna says the commission is following up the matter in which the Vice President Guy Scott allegedly conducted a political campaign rally in Lukulu West during the filing in of nominations of candidates for the by-election in the area.
Mr. Akufuna has explained that it would be an abrogation of the Electoral Conduct of Conduct if any political party in the country conducts a political campaign before the filing of nominations of candidates is done.
Speaking in an interview with Qfm news, Mr. Akufuna has noted that under the Electoral Law, political campaigns only commence at 15:00hours after all political parties have filed in nominations.
He has also reiterated the need for all participating political parties to conduct peaceful campaigns in Kapiri Mposhi and Lukulu West constituencies.

The other day it was Sylvia Masebo breaking the electoral law in Kapiri Mposhi and she was “strongly” admonished by ECZ. This time it is Guy Scott. What will ECZ do to Guy Scott or to PF as a party? This level of impunity is not healthy for the young Zambian democracy. We can’t have people raping our laws day in day out and there is no ****shment to them. Incumbency has its limits.
Scott is a very steady Man. These allegations can not be true.
We have not forgotten how President Sata when he was in opposition ‘refused’ to give way to the Vice President George Kunda SC (deceased) motorcade and people thought this made him a hero we shall do the same to Scott…an eye for an eye
People want to hear more from the govt becoz the promises made during 2011 compaigns are bearing fruit.so when they saw scott they felt a saviour was with them and wanted him to talk to them.it was not a rally for compaign but he just stopd to greet them.shame on you fault finders.
