The Patriotic Front (PF) government plans to build an education collage for mathematics and science in Kabompo district in the North-western province.

Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education Minister,John Phiri said this when he called on District Commissioner, Denis Kanyakula at his office in Kabompo.

Dr Phiri said the PF government has a Kuwait facility fund to build three education collages for mathematics and science in Zambia to be constructed in Katete in Eastern province, Senenga in Western province and Kabompo in North-western province.

The minister was reacting to Mr Kanyakula’s appeal to the government to commence the construction of an education collage for mathematics and science in Kabompo this year.

Mr Kanyakula said the Kabompo District Council has already approved three potential sites for the construction of the college but the Ministry of Education was delaying in sending technocrats to choose one of the sites and commence the construction works.

  1. They always delay so that they can keep meeting and by the time the project will take off,the money would have finished through allowances. They want to kick out clive so that they can keep meeting.

  4. Zambia is developing at the highiest speed yhanks be to the president surelly that is why they call him man of action, we need this kinf of leadership if all govts had been like this one zambia would have been great but the past ones where just about selling companies and share profits and forget about the rest

    • Wait until you see the actual college erected, then you can celebrate. Otherwise it could be another don’t Kubeba. It could have been better to build apartments at CBU than embark on another big project. We seem to like mediocrity…

    • Ha! Ha! Ha! You are very funny, Ati we are the best? Either you are not well-travelled or you don’t follow economic trends around the world. Probably both.

  5. Good but should have been in centally located places in order not to have problems with lecturers. Science and maths lecturers are not easy to find.

    • It’s called ‘decentralization’. How are these far flung areas going to develop if we concentrate every thing along the rail line. It’s either we produce more maths/science teachers or we bring in expatriates.

  6. My plea always is as you steal through allowances from trumped up meetings and conferences at least BUILD SOMETHING that people can see within reasonable time. Come by-election day you will still be promising a Science Museum and a Math and Science College in Kabompo. I had no idea mediocrity is so substantial…
