President Hichilema heads to Kasama today for one-day visit

President Hakainde Hichilema is today Monday expected in Kasama District in Northern Province on a one-day visit.

That Northern Province Acting Permanent Secretary Beauty Undi-Phiri who confirmed the visit of the Republican President today said the President is expected to arrive in Northern Province at exactly 14:00 hrs.

Ms, Undi-Phiri said upon arrival the President is expected to interact with members of the community and later hold a meeting with party officials.The Permanent Secretary has since called on Kasama residents to turn up in huge numbers and welcome the Republican President at Kasama Airport tomorrow afternoon.

“I urge every resident of Kasama and the entire Province to turn up in large numbers to receive the Head of State like they always do,” she said.

And some United Party for National Development (UPND) aspiring candidates in Northern have described the President’s visit to Northern Province as a motivation as they will be carrying out their campaigns.

United Party for National Development Kasama Central Constituency Aspiring Member of Parliamentary Bernard Mpundu says the UPND in the Province is ready to welcome the President tomorrow.

Mr Mpundu said the message that will come from the President will serve as a motivation for candidates saying the meeting with the party will boost the aspiring candidates’ morale.

And United Party for National Development Kasama North Constituency Aspiring candidates Sibongile Mwamba has called on the United Party for National Development (UPND) party officials and aspiring candidates to turn up in good numbers to welcome and attend the meeting by the Republican President.

Ms Mwamba explained that it is through such meetings that candidates and party officials can have a clear picture of how they should handle the campaigns.

“The President has taken a good move to meet us, this will help us as we continue with our campaigns,” she said.

Meanwhile United Party for National Development Lubanseshi Constituency Parliamentary Aspiring Candidates Taulo Chewe has commended President Hichilema for taking a step to meet with party officials.

Mr Chewe said the move shows that the President has a good vision for the party and the Zambian people.

“This is a good move because we cannot just be on the ground without a blessing from our father, the President, as we carry out our campaigns,” he said.

He added that the move shows that President Hichilema has vision for development adding that his message as he meets the officials is of good hope.

Meanwhile, President Hichilema today made a stop-over at Kasama airport where he received a thunderous welcome from Kasama residents enroute Chinsali in Muchinga Province.
