Nkana on Sunday thrashed Lime Hotspurs 3-0 in Ndola to open a five-point lead at the top of the FAZ Super Division.
Kalampa put up scintillating second half performance producing all the three goals in the last 20 minutes.
Striker Lottie Nyimbili launched the rout with a 70th minute goal before Patrick Chama added Nkana’s second 12 minute later.
Last season’s top scorer Reynold Kampamba sealed the victory in the 90th minute to register his fourth goal of the season.
Nkana have stretched their tally to 16 points while second placed Konkola Blades remain on 11 points after Saturday’s 1-0 loss at Roan United in Luanshya.
Elsewhere on Sunday, visiting Nkwazi beat Forest Rangers 2-1 in Ndola thanks to Steward Chikandiwa’s brace.
Chikandiwa scored in the 10th and 83rd minutes while much travelled striker Kelvin “Yellow” Mwelwa had equalised for Forest after 62 minutes.
Has Zambian Football gone down or has Nkana just improved. This was a team of losers just last year and I don’t see how they can turn themselves around with the same players in such a short time. Anyway if we qualify for the world cup and can are top of the league in November , then I will believe the hype. For now it is VIVA ZANACO or ZESCO or KABWE WARRIORS
Both ! Zambian football went down a long time ago ! And yes, Nkana have improved but with a lot of new players also ! They are now able to attract more players coz of better sponsorship now ! ( NB four Nkana players were in Lusaka for the Zimbabwe game but they still had enough cover to massacre Lime in Ndola ) ! No more ZANACO or ZESCO financial advantage now !

I suspect you are very, very young. Nkana is a much older team with a much longer soccer tradition than ZANACO, ZESCO and Kabwe Warriors. Nkana is the oldest team in FAZ, having been founded in 1935 and having won most championships – a record 11 times. Teams like ZESCO and ZANACO are babies in comparison to Nkana. LCD is right: ZANACO and ZESCO had an advantage because of sponsorship which Nkana lacked during the last 10 years. Now that Nkana is getting sponsorship from Mopani, it won’t be smooth sailing for ZANACO and ZESCO!
