President Michael Sata’s directive to arrest UNZA students unjustified-FODEP

Share

Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) has joined other political parties and civil society organizations standing in solidarity with the University of Zambia (UNZA) protesting students who were on Friday arrested by the police.

The arrested UNZA students were protesting against government’s decision to lift the subsidies on fuel and maize.

Speaking to Qfm in an interview, FODEP Executive Director McDonald Chipenzi has expressed worry at the rate at which the ruling Patriotic Front has gone in denying people their democratic right to express themselves.

He maintained that it was not justifiable for President Michael Sata to direct the police to arrest the UNZA students over a mere protest.

  1. Sata & his corrupt minister’s language is not different from Kadhaffi’s son & leaders who refused to accept the reality that Libyans have decided to remove Kadhaffi

What Sata is doing, are the last kicks of a dying horse like Kadaffi! He wont last in Statehouse for sure, not this time

The Intelligence officers, Soldiers & Police Officers have Zambia relatives who are dying from HUNGER and preventable diseases! All Zambian security people will soon turn against Sata

Sata with all his corrupt govt will soon be HANGED and SHOT in front of State House

There is no justice in Zambia, as evil Dictator Sata has corrupted his relative Chief INJUSTICE Chibesakunda to deny Zambians fairness & justice

Sata & all his corrupt govt PF leaders needs to be shot in their heads 100 times

    • @SHAKA OZ, I think you can do better than this. You do seem and sound intelligent enough to know that what you have written is complete GARBAGE!

Steep back from the keyboard, take a deep breath, and then read your comment. See if this is the best you can do!

    • Bwana that is too extreme,in as much as the GRZ has its flaws ,propagating judicial killings should not be entertained

    • If rioting and damaging people’s property is the best they can do, who are they fighting for?
Wouldn’t it be wise and worthwhile, as students and researchers to find a solution, through research, to over come the economic hardships of the nation.
Thought is a very powerful tool of creation.
Destruction and rioting is for the unwise and barbarians.
Politicians who have jumped on the bandwagon encouraging this savagely behaviour, claiming as human rights and freedom of speech depravation. are in it for the betterment of themselves rather than the nation.

    • #1.1, 1.2 & 1.3

You may even be the same PF relatives propagandists & zombies who are eating from the looting that your relative & master evil sadist Dictator Sata & his evil corrupt PF govt leaders are stealing from the govt coffers

Your comments are not different from NAZI Hitler’s propagandists who sort to distract opposition against Hitler

Whatever u have written here is only makes sense to dead people like Sata, Kabimba & Chief INJUSTICE Chibesakunda

U are all not different from the sons of Kadhaffi of Libya & Mubarak of Egypt who tried to protect dictators when Libyans & Egyptians rose up against these Dictators! Where is Kadhaffi & Mubarak’s sons? They are in prison as am writing right now

U want or u don’t want Sata will be HANGED by HUNGRY Angry Zambians! Period!

    • @SHAKA OZ,It is a fact that President Sata and his government have not achieved so much visa vie the people of Zambia’s expectations. Having said so, I don’t subscribe to radical ranting and extremists’ views like yours. You need to be delivered from such behavior because it is ungodly and evil! Why should you instigate hate and wish death for others just because you are aggrieved? Just because Sata does not come from your tribe, you want to have him killed! Tell me, what would you say tomorrow if the things that Sata is doing today works out for our country? I would have advised you to pray and seek God for guidance, but I know that you are not of God and I am not judging you, but simply reminding you, because you have already shown your nature. You will reap what you are sowing.

    • @CHI SHAKA OZ, WABA E TALL LAY!!!! SHAMELESS TRIBALIST!! INDEED, YOU ARE A D.ICK!! ALL YOUR COMMENTS ARE DISAPPOINTING YOU PIECE OF SHI.T!!

WHY NOT JUST DEBATING ISSUES SO THAT YOUR FAVOURED POLITICAL PARTY LEADER CAN WIN THE CONFIDENCE OF PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY?

    • @yambayamba

      Are you copying my posts?

It’s pretty evident. I must have style. However…….

      STOP IT!

  2. The government is right iwe.No one loves disorder.Even in the UK when students were protesting last year about the increase in college tuitions the government ordered the arrest of the disorderly students. You think i like it when those students block my way in great east road or when they smash the car i`m sweating to pay a loan for ? Think twice before you talk. Those students are not in order.

    • You are a Zombie Chimpanzee like Sata who has a low IQ!

In the UK their is Social welfare support for the poor! So what social welfare support are the poor in Zambia going to access?

U are so poor in your brain< am sure u struggle with your school studies like the way Panji Kaunda & son to Silvia Masebo struggled at their schools!

    • @SHAKA OZ iwe chik ala i don`t struggle.I`m actually in one of the best universities in the world.Struggling is for imbwa like you.Don`t support lawlessness. If those student have issues they have to express them in a manner befitting university students. Not blocking innocent motorists.

  3. How i wish students could sometimes act as educated as they claim to be, but alas. If some one can not understand a simple business concept of profit and lose (Selling price kr60 – kr65 Order price) then we dont expect them to think rationally on national issues. They will continue being used by politicians.

  4. Is it a democratic right to go demonstrating and breaking other peoples property or has this man lost his senses? Demonstrating is a right in the right manner but not when it goes to that extent

    • Patrick K.M. This chaps car, salary, incentives etc are donor funded. You think he cares or even tries to think rationally? In simple words his job description is to make noise, whether it’s positive or negative he doesn’t care as long as it satisfies his pay masters.

  5. Ba Shakas I don’t think you are normal and in any case you don’t understand business concept so I forgive you, what’s wrong with what the police did if students were going round stoning and breaking other peoples property? did you want police to watch them? What if that was you they stoned or you property damaged who would you blame to have not protected you? The president or police?

    • you are a coward, you care much about these used cars you get, than you sisters and brothers suffering everyday. get out of that bottle, brave people bring about change. tell your brothers, (PF) you will be gone quicker that you came.

  6. They didn’t break any cars. 1,2&3 stop supporting a government thag is taking us back to UNIP days.
You must be blind not to see that the pf is wrong.
If they want to save money from subsidies, How about cutting on their.
    1. Cabinet
    2. No more by elections unless someone days.
    3. Reduce their salaries
then maybe people will understand that they actually want to distribute the economy equall.

  7. Sata has failed. let him go hang in his favourite Muchinga with his tribal supporters. The cost of living is rising every day due to his over expenditure on useless things. Go away Sata! You’ve Failed!

    • @ Mama Musula, tribalism will not take you any where!! EACH-NIL- ALL!! Just what do you use to think imwe fi bantu?? People in this country must ensure that characters who think with tribe like you are not allowed to come any where near power..!!! What do others think??

  8. All those saying students wer not in order chek yo brains! U must be retards. Students were preaching peace on their way 2 state house! ZP, MP n C5 decided 2 brutalise them! N do u expect some1 2 do wen attackd by an armed gang of grade 2 dropouts in th name security? Students were merely match 2 state house shaking hands wth motorists who hapily supoted them. Speaks facts n dont believ th propaganda by th pf mouth piece; ZNBC!!

  9. The moment a “demonstration”, “protest”, “match”, etc., changes from being PEACEFUL to VIOLENT, police have the responsibility to arrest perpetrators—the actions now becomes criminal. And my understanding is that property was damaged/destroyed at UNZA!

I am not sure if there is a country on earth that would tolerate the destruction of property by college students and call it their RIGHT! However, I don’t support the President’s directive to expel the students, that should be left to the University authorities to decide whether they still want their institution to be associated with “violent” students who torched some dorm rooms.

The president should learn to stay out of such “trivial” administration matters—he is NOT the headmaster, president, or chancellor of…

    • learn to reach before you yap, as student, nomatter what dnt destroy our own property. didnt you watch news last evening? the hostels that cought fire were looted by police’s spinning teargas canister. those grade 12 drop outs were throwing teargass canisters in our rooms and forced themselves in our rooms. no public property was destroyed……

    • You express yourself very well. Intelligent discourse from you Yambayamba.
You have no need to imitate anyone – ever!

  10. Mwata you are very narrow minded, don’t you know that the blockage of the road is for your own benefit and zambia @ large. Maybe its because of that same car you have that makes you proud to stand up when things are not right. Infact you are dull, who gets a loan only to buy a car?? A car is Depreciateble liability iwe. Think

  11. If one cannot see that things are not okay in this country, then there is a problem with their brains.

    1. failure by Miombo to deliver fertilizer in good times to farmers
    2. unnecessary by-elections in order to gain popularity
    3. you decide to maintain Kitwe-Ndola dual carriage way, neglecting Chingola Road claiming lives every day
    4. spending billions on by-elections while hospitals continue to stink!
    5. we voted for a better Zambia, then we realize it was for a worse Zambia.

Do not forget the power of a social media, if you arrest students, you have not arrested Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp and many others. Egypt is an example of what social medias can do to bring about change. I am not advocating for violence, but when things are not okay, let people voice out! you will not…

  12. Wait for a month or so when prices of various commodities-goods and services will sky rocket and masses start to join students in demonstrations. Then we will see how the police and govt will handle the situation.
Better maturely and uprightly deal with the problem at hand before it escalates. Its wise to listen and act in line with the ruled-God’s children.

  13. The morons from the University yamafi think of themselves to be the most intelligent citizen since they supposedly got higher points at grade 12 but the behaviour specks otherwise. There are too many Zambians with a huge desire for a free education so please Mr Educations minister and Mr President Expel these *****s right away and let them rote on the unforgiving streets of our towns and villages

    • Sata will just do what u are asking him to do & then ………….?

      Sata wont survive this time!

Knowing Sata, the next move is predictably, he will make a mistake of showing force & in the end once one Zambian is killed like it happened in Tunisia, then Zambia will be on fire & then he will be Lynched, Hanged & shot by Hungry Angry Zambians against his evil govt!

  14. The Church npaper caried a story “evil heading to Zambia-TB Joshua” plz if any one ready tht story let us kno wat it wz abt
