President Michael Sata this afternoon made a stop over at Dubai Airport where he boarded a Commercial plane enroute to Japan.He was welcomed by Zambia’s Ambassador to Egypt Lt Gen Herbert Simutowe.The President heads to Japan to attend the 5th Tokyo International Conference on African Development.TICAD is a summit meeting on African development co-organized by the Government of Japan, UN, World Bank, UNDP and AUC.TICAD V will take place in Yokohama, Japan, from 1 to 3 June, 2013.
President Michael Sata who was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Effron Lungu and Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations George Chellah, left Addis Ababa at 12:35 hours local time.
He was in Ethiopia for the 21st African Union Heads of State Summit and the Golden Jubilee cerebrations of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which is now known as African Union (AU).

When Sata was not visiting other countries but kept on asking VP to represent him. HH challenged Mr. Sata on how he was going to lobby for foreign investment if he was not traveling out. Today, Mr. Sata is traveling out to attract investment which Zambia needs as a matter of urgency, you guys are criticizing him. The government has embarked on serious infrastructure development which will definitely require assistance from outside, the President has gone to Japan three days earlier, do you know who he wants to meet before the meeting? If Sata fails, Zambia will have failed so I really dont know whether we are dealing with Zambians or foreigners here.

It seems some bloggers just like opposing things just for the sake of it. I mean Sata got to Dubai yesterday so assuming he left for Japan yesterday chances are he would have arrived today (Japan isn’t exactly in the backyard/time zones). Or maybe he is leaving for Japan today which means he will get there tomorrow (the 30th). This conference starts on the 1st. Is there really anything wrong with him arriving a day or two earlier? You would rather have him to fly back to Zambia for one day and then fly all the way back? You want him to arrive on the day itself? Mulebako serious!
