New Energy and Mines Minster pledges to deal with loadsheding

Share

Christopher Yaluma.
Christopher Yaluma.

New Energy, mines and water development Minister Christopher Yaluma says he will ensure that there is no more loadsheding by the power utility company ZESCO.

Mr. Yaluma who has been moved to the energy ministry from the ministry of works, supply, transport and communication says his transfer is more than a plus because he understands the all sectors in his ministry well.

He says he will ensure that all departments that fall under his ministry begin to operate to the expectations of the people of Zambia.

He says having been minister for the same ministry before gives him great confidence to even work harder without disappointing the appointing authority.

Mr. Yaluma has since assured the nation that he will ensure that ZESCO reduces on unnecessary loadsheding of power.

  1. Yaluma you re a fool indeed ,you were there before why now saying you will stop load shedding.Grow up iwe akamutwe ububi.

    • If I were president of Zambia, I would not have reshuffles in my administration. If a minister fails to deliver, I would not move them around but would rather fire them. I would pick leaders who are qualified and specialized in their fields. My government would be small with only 10 ministries. Not all ministries would have a deputy minister & those that do would not have more than two. Permanent secretaries would be the professionals & ministers would be the public mouth piece to encourage and move the agenda of the government. There would be no travel allowances for traveling to the USA or China or Japan etc. No shopping allowances. Government would be lean and efficient. Embassies that bring in less revenue than they consume would be closed. Govt would be the solution & not the problem.

  2. This minister is a typical clueless PF cadre who is fooling no one but himself.
First in his report he says he ‘will ensure that there is no more load shedding by Zesco’ and at the end of same report he says something different, ‘I will ensure that Zesco reduces unnecessary load shedding’. Who can believe this trash?
Perhaps he clarifies this where he says he ‘will work harder without disappointing the appointing authority’. Of course this is what they all do, to impress and get favours from the president forgetting that they have to work for Zambia.

  3. In the first paragraph:
“…Minister Christopher Yaluma says he will ensure that there is no more loadsheding by the power utility company ZESCO.”

and then later in the last paragraph:

Mr. Yaluma has since assured the nation that he will ensure that ZESCO reduces on unnecessary loadsheding of power.

So all in all, what is it that is being reported? That load-shedding will be done away with or it will be reduced?

    • YALUMA WHEN HE WAS SPEAKING HIS FURTS WERE DISTURBING HIM FROM HIS BUMS. THESE PF MINISTERS ARE NOT IN CONTROL OF THEMSELVES HOW CAN THEY CONTROL ANYTHING?

  4. CORRUPT PRACTICES AT MINISTRY OF ENERGY – LUSAKA, ZAMBIA
    The Editor:
Our CEO, Mr. Rodney Ekern, would like to interview and issue a media statement through your media outlet. The statement is in reference to UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT and CORRUPT PRACTICES encountered at the Ministry of Energy regarding a proposed 15 MW power plant by Water Wheel International (WWI), a Texas corporation.
The proposed Iyendwe Valley Hydro Power site is located in Mpulungu District and is currently at feasibility stage and will potentially cost $50 to $100 million to develop/implement, with no participation/cost requested from Zambian public funds. The project earmarked to be funded (both the feasibility study and implementation) through US private and public entities.
