The Oasis Forum has finalized drafting the Private Member’s Bill that is meant to protect the current constitutional making process and the contents of the country’s new constitution.

Oasis Forum spokesperson Cleophas Lungu disclosed to Qfm in an interview that the finalized draft of the Private Member’s Bill was last week Wednesday given to Lubansenshi independent Member of Parliament, Patrick Mucheleka who will soon introduce the Bill to Parliament.

Fr. Lungu who is also Zambia Episcopal Conference Secretary General further noted that the contents of the Private Member’s Bill will also be availed to the public through a press briefing at a later appropriate date.

Fr. Lungu has maintained that the Private Member’s Bill will not contradict the Constitution Bill that government is expected to introduce for the country’s new constitution.

  1. Just it because it will be introduced by an opposition member PF will likely deliberately not vote for it.

  2. Keep dreaming. PF govt is out to assault the constitition and you docile citizens will be left doing nothing. PF is building numbers in parliament and few things will be added to the constitution and more will be removed to fit into PF mind set.

  3. oasis just to impress donors. Where were you when chiluba and mwanawasa later banda failed to give us a constitution. Let pf complete what they started.

  4. SO THE BILL WILL BE DEBATED IN PARLEY AND OASIS EXPECT IT TO PASS AND ENDORSED BY THE PRESIDENT. YES LET DREAMERS KEEP ON DREAMING

    • So where do you wanted this bill debated if not Parliament, at your favorite pub?!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. WENYE! Give us facts before we can support your fruitless sojourn.
Oppose with true the Country at heart, and not with just words.
Any empty vessel can say what you are accusing.

  6. But will the Constitution protect Human Rights? Freedom of the Press? The right
to free assembly and association? What
about Gay rights? Are they going to be
included? Many questions remain to be
answered by Government and the Oasis
    Forum.
