Zambia renews rivalries with their arch-foe Bafana Bafana on Wednesday when they meet in a 2013 Cosafa Cup semifinal clash.
The two sides’ meet at the penultimate stage of the competition in a 20:00 Hours kickoff at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Strangely this will only be the two three-time champions’ fourth meeting in the Cosafa Cup since the competition began in 1997.
Bafana come into Wednesday night’s game with an edge over Zambia with two wins and one loss.
The Southern Africans have dominated their opponents in their last two meetings winning 1-0 in the 2008 semifinals and 5-4 on penalties in the 2007 finals.
Renard knows that defeat on Wednesday will be a great blow for the hosts especially after their 3-1 blitz over Mozambique on July 14 in the quarterfinals at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
Meanwhile, Bafana’s quality will also offer a great test for fringe players like Jimmy Chisenga and Bruce Musakanya who had an outstanding day against Mozambique.
The other semifinal match will see defending champions Zimbabwe take on Lesotho at 17:00 Hours at the same venue.
And Angola and Mozambique will meet in the Cosafa Cup Plate final on July 18 at Nkana Stadium.
Angila beat Malawi 3-2 in their Plate semifinal while Mozambique defeated Namibia 1-0 in a doubleheader played at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.
Go get ’em boys!

BULLETS FOR BAFANA AWE BAFANA WELCOME TO DE ESTEDO DELEVY
Watever happens save Mwanawasa stadium from an embarrasment, we dont want to lose at the magnificent Levy Mwawasa stadium. Let Moses Phiri and Bornwell mwape start upfront not the Nkana chap!! I would have preferred a Sate Sate and that ZESCO striker partnership but how they were left only HR knows. Any its water under the bridge but HR will be held accountable in case of a loss.. Good luck Zambia, shame Bafana banyana
