Solwezi Central Member of Parliament Lucky Mulusa has announced that he will embark on a walk from Chingola to Solwezi in protest at the removal of subsidies.

Mr. Mulusa told a media briefing in Lusaka today that he will also use the walk to highlight the PF government’s failure to upgrade the Chingola-Solwezi road into a dual carriage way.

He said he will walk from Chingola to Solwezi in order to feel the impact that the ordinary citizens are feeling following the removal of subsidies on fuel.

Mr. Mulusa said he will use the walk to interact with the local people in areas found along the Chingola-Solwezi road.

“I will make stop overs to chat with the local people. As a representative of the people, I have to feel how they are feeling,” Mr Mulusa said.

He said the PF has shown its true colours by subjecting poor Zambians to further misery after removing the subsidies on fuel and maize.

“They have increased fuel prices and yet they are riding in air conditioned vehicles bought using tax payers money and getting free fuel whilst the people walk because they cannot afford a bus fare.”

The Solwezi Central MP regretted that the Chingola-Solwezi road which contributes significantly to the treasury has not been lined up for upgrades.

“This is the road which gives a lot of money to the treasury and yet it is not been upgraded,” he said.

He alleged that the PF government is busy focusing on constructing and rehabilitating some roads that do not make economic sense.

Mr. Mulusa said he will begin his journey on Saturday morning after Parliament adjourns sine die this Friday.

  1. Why from Chingola, if he’s really serious and not just another clown why not start his walk from Lusaka where he lives?

    • I wonder why you want to dictate the length of his journey as if you’re protesting together!!

    • Mulusa knows that RDA has this road in their plans. Actually, the Contractor is in the mobilisation period. That is, he is moving equipment and all resources needed to commence work. A few months ago, RDA signed a contract worth over K600m (K600bn) for the upgrade to dual carriage way.

This man is an opportunist. He wants to come and appear as if he fought for the people’s cause. As for subsidies, he is the only guy who thinks we must subsidise consumption. That time is gone. He must have grown up under coupons…

  2. It’s democracy! Hon Mulusa, spot on! A pond is filled by every drop of water, later transformed into a river, so is every effort made…………….It’s impact will linger forever and deepest!

  3. Every road in zambia under rehabilitating has economic sense… Just fight for your road upgrade without ukusabaila coz u will lose direction.. by the way where do you stay? Chingola, Solwezi or Lusaka????

  4. Foolishness instead of walking for developmental issues in he is walking for non starter issues like subsidy? I mean Solwezi has serious issues ranging from bad roads,Bridges and sanitation and this guy is walking for subsidy???????

DUSTYYYY??? Solwezi I wonder how much Uranium particles one inhales before noon through dust, its a time bomb.

  5. better start from livingstone to mpulungu then from mpulungu to mongu then from mongu to chipata then from chipata to chavuma because poverty and bad roads are everywhere in zambia.

    all the best comrade!!

  6. Y didnt Mulusa foot when RB stole de money which was meant 4 povert reduction n develpmnt instead he used de money 4 mmd campaigns, Mulusa’s inclusive? $1,000,000 4rm nigeria into RB’s pocket was more than enough 2 do dat road. Nalanda mulusa aumfwa.

    • Udi chipapoki Eyi. You dont even know the truth and yet you are saying $1,000,000. Did it come from your account? weluka wanyi kutan’ga? ilomu deyi muna…..

  7. Mulusa inshima yakukola, watampa kusabaila. Chingola/ solwezi is a short distance people are walking every day. Take the route advised by Notorious.

  8. Thank you, your intelligence is beyond these thieves who dont look beyond their self interest. In pure democracy that self sacrifice would be applauded. To these blood suckers to walk with a petrol can is more meaningful.
Etu twasanta, tunakusakilila, Kalunga amihembi. The people of NWP are waking up, suffering and marginilisation is a motivator. Never again can we allow this.
To the traitors, when you get beaten you will shout in Lunda, Luchazi, Luvale, Kaonde, Mbunda, Lamba, you will, you deny yourself at your own peril. In any case how do you give up on belonging to the biggest African heritage, The Lunda-Luba?

    • Much suffering is nourishment to the soul at times..undeserved
suffering is redemptive..no lie lives on forever…NWP has been maginalised too much…Chingola -Solwezi Road is much an economical route to take a sensible leader delay to maintain unless for political mileage the delay is fishy!! Let RDA do it…

  9. Double standard at its best, 20 yrs under MMD, Mulusa never complained about upgrading chingola – Solwezi road. Now he is in opposition it suits his ego. Subsidies are not sustainable. I just forget that he Mulusa is a MP and he got a vehicle from tax payers money and he get free fuel so who is he cheating? He Mulusa is a liar who lies before 06 hrs and after going to bed. He Mulusa does not mean well, my understanding is Zambia is for all as well as developments. No part of Zambia is more important than others. He Mulusa is needs to understand subsidies are well do benefits . Uncle rides a bicycle from mwa lusaka to Shang’ombo. Kwa living to Kasama does he benefit from fuel subsidies? May be he Mulusa wants to burn is fat from his stomach and thought let me cheat but Lies are short lived

  10. Hon mulusa, thats the way, baffikal beleyumfwa impact but they to be putting on brave face with silly comments, never mind these homosexuals on this blog they a bunch of them they are hired by splinter kapimbe and mumembe

  11. The university Mulusa went to did not give him the ability to analyse the points and negatives from what he wants to do. A good leader is the one who listens and acts on the best interests of everyone and not just few

  12. Mulusa I think u have lost your mind!! Walking from Solwezi to Chingola will not do anything to change the governments decision to remove dubsidies.Ask your frirend HH who paraded himself alone in the street if he achieved his intentions. You as MP should understand better the reasons for the removal of dubsidies.Road rehabilitation involves procurement procedures that take long to be concluded.Tenders have to be advertised, evaluated and then a contract awarded before works start. It takes time and you should understand better as MP than the villages you want to tell lies. You are an embarrassement to MPds!!

  13. When MMD was in power this stooge was quiet about this road even the late Teta never campaigned for the dual carriage road. If he wants to complain, he should blame his party for doing nothing about the road in 20 years! MMD is going down because of too many selfish people who are only interested in attracting a little limelight for themselves instead of promoting the party policies. Mulusa should be apologising to the people of Solwezi for the failures of MMD, not shifting the blame on PF who have been in power for less than 2 years. MMD members should accept that the party made many blunders under Chiluba and RB and tell the people that they will not make the same mistakes under the current leadership. Nobody will listen if they continue to be in denial like Mulusa and Nevers.

  14. Mulusa I never saw you jogging while living in South Africa and u want to do it in zambia Nga wanyala mwitoloshi don’t blame anyone

  15. …..ok lets assume you manage to walk thru and its now Sunday morning…what should we expect to see, hear or indeed expect…?…we will give you just a day to rest…if we wont see the sun rising from west to east then am afraid u will have to walk again from Slwz to chingola……until we hear that kabimba or Lungu or sakeni has resigned…. am a great fan of your articles, I don’t want to miss them because..’ u collapsed and died’ out of exhaustion after covering only 5% of the journey…….

  16. He is just going on weight loose program. Anyway what is it that going to change after he walks from Chingola to Solwezi? And if its about chingola – solwezi road why did he protest and pressurize MMD government to work on it at the time MMD was in power? because this road has been a disaster even when his party ruled for 20 years. He must be a joke of an MP.

  17. He is over weight. He certainly needs the walk to lose some of it. Mulusa should suggest to government how it can mitigate the suffering on the REAL poor than to waste time on worthless walks. Why should rich people like Mulusa and others continue to enjoy subsidised mealie meal when he can afford it even without subsidy? This is the point he is missing? If subsidies have to be re-introduced it should be on a needs based system not as the case was before.

  18. That s the way to go LUCKY. I will join you on the way probably between SAINT DOROTHY and MUTENDA. and then we speak to the people on the way, for the need to SECEDE and develop our Province with Money from the MINES. Our Province is the richest in Minerals but why lag behind like this? ala.

  19. All of you bloggers who are against Mulusa’s walk you are Ignorant of what is going on in NW Province, the province is financing Zambian budget yet nothing is being ploughed back to province i can even join him with a camera so that we make a documentary..PF cadres or is it officials flew instead of driving through the dilapidated road no ways if they do not do something NW will vote PF out of power come 2016..

  20. Dual carriage way (Chingola – Kitwe road) we are still waiting for contractors to move on site by end of July as per CEO of RDA pronouncement . Ba Chiwala you are a credible man can you push this project before pipo loose trust in you. Why taking so long to give tenders to credible contractors like CHINA HINAN these are serious pipo unlike the the one’s doing roads in Chingola township from South Africa in parterneship with the Honorable ……….. WS. PF time is running out we are approaching rain season before we start hearing of stories ……….. we will be kicked out come 2016. Chingola – Kitwe road is long overdue (Ba Sata please we know by being a hard worker kindly act).

  21. True northwestern is being abused. It is financing other provinces like muchinga which is developing so fast when there is literally no production. We have a lot road construction projects underway in this province. Yet NW which has a lot copper has been neglected. VIVA Luck. Bakosama bingi bantu bo baka bwalala. You will not play on our minds this time around.

  22. Mulusa is the real deal. wish other MPs were like him. you northwesterners, rise up like your brothers and sisters in barotsland and Ukwa will listen. stay quiet, he will take development to muchinga.

  23. Hn Mulusa..just add more value to your good plan.WALK NAKED.

OR CLIMB A ZESCO POLE NAKED IN THE TOWN CENTRE.

your fellow hallucinating supporters will support you.MAIZE & FUEL SUBSIDY is a dead story.
