PF warns Chanda Chimba against filming the President at public events for his own safety

The Patriotic Front in Lusaka district has warned freelance journalist Chanda Chimba III to desist from filming President Michael Sata at public events for his own safety.

PF Lusaka district Chairman Goodson Banda has told Qfm that people have not forgotten what Chimba did and that the party in Lusaka will not allow him to freely film the president.

Mr. Banda said that Mr Chimba should be grateful that the PF has peaceful cadres who have not harmed him despite the negative reports he did on president Sata.

He added that no member of the PF would allow Chanda Chimba to film president Sata because they do not know what he was going to do with the footage of the head of State.

Mr. Banda further stated that if Chanda Chimba continues, he should not blame them for what is going to happen one day.

During the church service for the late defence Minister Ben Mwila last week PF cadres grabbed a camera from Chanda Chimba who was filming the procession.

    • One question that this Pathetic Fool Goodson needs to answer is, did Chanda Chimba III lie about anything? The camera does not lie. Chanda Chimba simply brought out what Sata had done in the past as captured by technology. Goodson wants to re-write history with a better picture than exists? Sata is a brazen uncultured person full of vile remarks about anything. That is the real Sata. Stop making him angel like because he is not and never will be. I respect the fact that he is president but the truth is he is not a good hearted human being one can count on.

    • Some bloggers seem to suggest that Mr Banda’s utterances are his own opinion, however I strongly disagree and here are my reasons
      1. If Mr Banda was speaking on his own accord government would have disassociated itself from such draconian threats
      2. Mr Banda would have been suspended from what ever position he holds in the PF
      3.Disciplined all its carders including members who posses positions of seniority for breach peach
      4. Outrightly condemn the violent conduct of its carders
      The fact that they haven’t come out in the open to disassociate themselves from the many vices that have been done in the name of support for the PF and its president makes Mr Banda comment a general consensus within the PF government….THINK ABOUT IT

    • This warning is in vain. Chanda does not necessarily have to take the footage himself. He could even hire someone else to do it and PF will not even know. Moveover there are even phones cameras that take very good video footage that can be used by anyone, who would then pass on the product to Chanda. Ba PF mwalishalila.

  10. Lord help me I have never felt so much hate for an institution like I do the PF. I have tried to see a glimmer of sanity and hope in this party but they insist on being retrogressive. From bad mouthing each other in the press, clueless head of state, violent defence minister, general high cost of living, non-conducive business environment where people are now always broke! Admit it or not under RB, money was accessible coz the environment supported the presence of buck. When the cost of living is low, people will have disposable money which, following the domino effect, will multiply. But now, every little scrap of money is held on to coz it is scarce! At least I don’t have to say ‘i wish i never voted for PF’ coz i never did!

  13. We have a good example of UPND official Joe Kalusa who was arrested for threatening to gang-rape FDD leader Edith Nawakwi. If there is really equal justice in this country, then we are all eager to see Goodson Banda arrested as well for threatening an innocent citizen. Chanda Chimba is a freelance journalist as we all know him. Is there anything wrong for him to take pictures of a public figure? The answer is NO!

    • it can never happen. Not all animals are equal under the Zambian laws. Ask the Police why they cannot arrest Goodson Banda and you will be told that they never head him say it or it never happened. Only when Kabimba says “Swaa” then the whole “park” of the police will hunt and arrest Banda

My guess is they will do nothing!

He insulted the church (anyone who insult the body of Christ can’t succeed) and anyone who was telling the MMD and RB the truth!   49. These r the issues that makes a ruling party unpopular. My advice to PF is never to repeat the mistakes of MMD. Such cadres must be punished and even then Chimba should be left alone n only be dealt with if he trespasses(commits a crime). In Zambia, children take after the father’s tribe; this makes Fred a Bemba. Fred is bilingual and speaks both Bemba and Lozi fluently.

    • Fred is not a relative of Sikota Wina. His grandmother worked for the Ngambela who was Sikota Wina’s father. The Wina family merely treated their servants and their children well. Fred is therefore not a close relative.

    However, also a timely warning to Journalists to avoid sensationalizing and exaggerating their stories. Remain factual and objective. These are the fundamentals of Journalism. Desist from playing the role of useful *****s, reporting half truths and giving undue advantage to anyone!
