Kabwata Member of Parliament (MP) Given Lubinda yesterday stole the show at the memorial service for Defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba’s mother, Grace, when Patriotic Front (PF) cadres referred to him as secretary general.
Just after Mr Lubinda was called to lead other MPs in laying wreaths at Memorial Park, the cadres who attended the event started shouting while referring to him as secretary general.
As the MP walked to lay the wreath, the cadres shifted people’s attention as they repeatedly shouted ‘SG’ in reference to secretary general.Cadres recently called for the removal of Wynter Kabimba whom they accused of opposing President Michael Sata’s endosement for the 2016 candidature.
And Mr Mwamba has said that education is not the only key to success but discipline and hard work.
The Defence minister who said he had moderate education stated that he had made it in life because he always listened to elders and worked hard.
He said he was an example to the world that it was not just education that made one successful.
“I have very moderate education but I am today an example to the world that people can still make it in life even with moderate education.
“And I must say that I owe all what I have today to my mother Grace, who was a very tough woman and always checked on me and because I was scared of her I made sure that I worked very hard,” Mr Mwamba said.
He thanked President Sata and First Lady Christine Kaseba for the role they played during his mother’s passing three years ago.
“I would like to thank President Sata and the First Lady for the role they played during my mother’s illness and death.
“The President was supposed to have attended this memorial but because he had an engagement he could not come,” he said.
Among the notables that attended the memorial service were Information minister Mwansa Kapeya, Health Minister Joseph Kasonde, and Joseph Katema for Community and Development.
Others were Mines and Energy minister Christopher Yaluma, his Foreign Affairs counterpart Wylbur Simuusa, Education Minister John Phiri and Fackson Shamenda for Labour. Several deputy ministers also attended the service.

Wynter is a hardcore and they are feeling his heat hence the cadres want a puppet like Lubinda. The only problem they have in PF concerning SG is that he has two positions, cabinet minister and SG. Kabimba should just relieve himself of one of the positions and he will do a commendable job. His two positions are confusing him hence always at loggerheads with others. I would urge him to relinquish the ministerial position and concentrate on party affairs before the boat completely steps down!
Uh? As minister he was also nominated an MP. As SG he can only be paid by the party (whose cadres now want his throat). So baba, he has no option but to hope he is not dropped as minister and MP.

Lubinda must be careful not to be foo.led by the misguided PF cadres, remember the saying, ‘Once bitten twice shy’. That is the same lot who humiliated him and made his life hell.

The cadres had nothing to do with GL’s purpoted suspension. His was orchestrated by MuMmembe through Wynter.
Mumembe has always known Zayelo will take over from Sata and wanted to have him sidelined, but alas what God has ordained no man will put asanda.
Could GBM and his hired carders please tell us the charges and pieces of evidence against Kabimba? Lubinda was given the charge of leaking confidential party and government matters to the opposition, with facts. What about Kabimba, what has he done? Elections start with endorsement and campaigning. It is within their democratic right to demand change. The mess PF is now can only be sorted out with change of leadership at top level.

When you educate yourself, you are bound to understand the world, you become intelligent and that intelligence matures into wisdom which may be with you forever. I entirely agree with you. Zambians should be alert to charecters who have become rich through corrupt means. Gbm is a dubious business man who is trying to launder his image by aligning himself with sata and destroying innocent kabimba. Kabimba is a very divisive and controversial figure! His interactions with Mmembe and Nchito have made him even more arrogant.
