President Michael Sata has appointed appointed former Chipata Central Member of Parliament (MP) Lameck Mangani as the new Patriotic Front (PF) Eastern Province Chairperson.
The appointment of Mr Mangani follows the dissolution of the Mike Tembo led executive about a month ago.
Mr Mangani confirmed his appointment from Lusaka today saying he received his appointment letter on Monday.
“Yes I have been appointed Provincial Chairperson of the PF and I received the appointment letter on Monday,” he said.
Mr Mangani said other members of the executive would be ushered in during a mini elective conference to be announced by party Secretary General Wynter Kabimba soon.
He pledged to steer the ruling party to glory by embarking on a massive recruitment drive and would not allow bickering saying the PF should lead by the example.
According to the letter dated September 12, 2013, Mr Sata said he was pleased to inform Mr Mangani of the appointment with immediate effect in accordance with the provisions of the PF constitution.
“The position of Provincial chairman is a senior position in the party hierarchy with great demand on the holder. You are, therefore, expected to discharge your duties and responsibilities with diligence and commitment.
“The Central Committee through the office of the Secretary General will soon communicate to you the date of the Provincial Committee elections in the province,” Mr Sata said.

premises
Meanwhile President Sata has appointed Robert Chikwelete as the new Patriotic Front (PF) Lusaka District Chairperson.
Mr Chikwelete’s appointment comes almost a week after he and Julius Komaki took over office in an interim capacity to replace the previous holders who were hounded out and subsequently leading to the closure of the office following a fracas that ensued on August 31, 2013.
Last week on Thursday, some PF cadres converged at the Lusaka District office where they announced the ushering in of Mr Chikwelete as interim Lusaka District Chairman in the office which had been shut from August 31, 2013 owing to a fracas that had occurred.
Viva Sata!
And that’s how Goodson Banda went! He thought he will be spared for supporting Kabimba.
Next is a new Party SG..
That is how dictators operate. How on earth do you appoint Lameck Mangani without allowing the mini convention top do its work? This man is a very terrible dictator!!
The gerontocracy continues…
Didn’t Wynter one time deny that Mangani was member of the PF. This was during an interview on ZNBC.
thats the only thing he knows and does best.wats wrong wit this old man and appointments?
I thought these positions were elective and surprised of what is called mini conference
Its bcoz Sata has no depth or deep insight.True leadership is not just about forceful personality, its about vision, being goal oriented and focused…all the traits that Sata lacks.
This marks the death of PF in eastern province,,, how can Sata in his normal senses appoint unpopular mangani as eastern province chairman??
Then when PF loses elections again in eastern province then you blame Andrew Banda and HH…
this man must b insane
“President Michael Sata has appointed Mr Sata has also appointed former Chipata Central Member of Parliament (MP) Lameck Mangani as the new Patriotic Front (PF) Eastern Province Chairperson” ?????? LT what the heck is this?
….you got the message and that’s what’s important! Why are so petty – the LT is doing a wondeful job with limited resources! You Zambians like living in cook land even when you know that your country is still developing!!
where is it written?
Everyday I am shuffling…
Lk times be serious with ur writings President Michael Sata has appointed Mr Sata has also appointed former Chipata Central Member of Parliament (MP) Lameck Mangani as the new Patriotic Front (PF) Eastern Province Chairperson.
Mangani wavutikwa ngako
confusion is the order of the day. Looks like winter has lost big time. the biggest losers are the post and fred membe.
The appointment of Lameck Mangani as Eastern Province PF Chairman, a man who has been rejected TWICE by the Chipata Voters, is the last nail sealing the death of PF in the Eastern Province. Apparently, Mangani should not get carried away in excitement because he has been “nominated” by the PF CEO in the same way as Kabimba was hand-picked to become PF’s SG. Kabimba and Mangani should have been elected at the PF National Convention. But such nominations defeat the essence of democracy.
This confirms that PF Zambia Plc is solely owned Mr. Sata. Other ‘PF Casual Workers’ can only agonizingly watch in silence.
By-the-way what is Kabimba’s feelings, considering that this PF SG once suspended Mangani for the latter’s links to GBM? Sata thrives in controversy. The circus is on stage
Leave PF alone, its non of your business
You sound like when we were kids and we used to play football on those dusty roads. When the team of the guy who owns the ball is being beaten, he would suddenly pick it up and say ‘Ndaya kunganda’! You PF stooges are nothing but childish sore losers.
Sole ownership.
Consolation prize… walgelijk!
Mangani will now stop crying like a little child
ATLEAST THE MAN WILL HAVE FOOD ON HIS TABLE ,BUT SATA WAS SURPOSED TO TELL HIM HOW MUCH PER MONTH.BECOZ I HEARD THESE PF PROVINCIAL CE0 GET K11000 PER MONTH
I now beleive that zoona, some people are Chimbwi No Plan!
Mr. Mangani, my former Deputy Head @ Chassa Boys Secondary School. Bwanji mdala iwe?
It will be dificult for PF to have stronger roots in Eastern Power coz of their poor and directionless farming policy. Nowander they define PF as Paya Farmer (Kill Farmer). Suport them on this, it will be yours!
What will a reject do in the PF rejected area, unless he is put on a salary for the sake of maintaining him. Bwana Mangani will find it difficulty to do the job in his own rejected home area. Bamukana finshi engachita?
“The position of Provincial chairman is a senior position in the party hierarchy with great demand on the holder. You are, therefore, expected to discharge your duties and responsibilities with diligence and commitment.
“The Central Committee through the office of the Secretary General will soon communicate to you the date of the Provincial Committee elections in the province,” Mr Sata said.
So in PF, elections come AFTER the appointment. What’s the point of an election then? These dictatorial thugs are sickening.
Kekekekekekekekek what kind of madness lmao is this hahhahahahahajaj yaba kufunta siku chila apa yaba cant stop laughing someone needs to get laid
Sata is positioning himself to stand in 2016. He knows Mangani will make the right noise for him though I am not sure where as he is not liked in Eastern province. Lucas Phiri, this is time for you to leave the sinking boat. You will save your integrity by leaving now while manzi akali munkhokola. You know what I mean. Don’t mix yourself with failures or sell outs like Mangani. Mangani will divide the Ngonis and Chewas because he is a F.O.O.L. Good luck PF with your F.O.O.Lishness.
To conclude this appointment.. !
There is no single rightful thinking person that can be attracted to take up this role. Sata is now only left to select from Political Prostitutes or Gigolo’s parading themselves with desperation.
Mangani has been rejected twice in the capital city of Eastern Province. What medicine was running in Sata’s blood when he made this appointment.
You PF chaps, come to your senses. Then again this is good news for MMD and UPND, if Sata continues this trend of appointing Gigolo’s.
Let the man work and speak later maybe 2016!
Sata was rejected 3 times before hebame president mangani will control eastern
The President’s appointments are usually to get at people. Something like, “oh you thought you were clever by rejecting Mangani, but see he’s still with you with a post”. Some kind of make believe stuff, to convince the appointee(Sata) that he’s still in charge of Eastern Province.
He did the same with Miles Sampa after Sampa insulted Southerners that “they would never ‘rule’ Zambia unless they married as many Bemba women as possible”. Instead of disciplining the chap, he promoted him to the same province he insulted! Isn’t that working in reverse gear honestly?
Can such a man listen about the Chief Justice’s illegal occupation of office?
From worse to worst.mangani and mike tembo are all the same in character. They are finished political figure heads whose end result should be farming, chete waka.who cheated that manganic can spearhead the performance of PamaFi?
Good morning people,I got a job.Thank You!
Congratulations!
HH appointed a losing candidate in Mandevu Constituency a Dr. Banda as his Vice President for Politics.. This guy was rejected by a wide margin by the people of Mandevu. UPND chaps were heard saying HH appoints ‘intellectual’ Banda as his VIP. It is bad for SATA and PF but, good for hh… Any way like or hate it, it is PF all the way.. 2016, it will still be PF. this message show sink -in in the UPND dreamers.
Appointing an utter reject? End of PF in the region?
Like HH appointing William Banda as special advisor. Zambian Politicins awee mwee. All confused?
2016: Eastern MMD, Lusaka PF, Central PF, Western UPND,PF & MMD, Southern UPND, N-Westhern UPND & PF, Copperbelt PF & a seat in rural area for MMD, Luapula PF(100%), Northern PF & Muchinga PF(98%). With that data, who will be the Republican president of Zambia in 2016 general elections?
Dream on. Its allowed.
sata for 2016
This party is polluted with MI or Methylisothiazolinone that’s why they operate in such manner
Thanks Chilyata. Some people have too much time of their hands!
Its a one man show and no democracy. Will Sata pay him also?Elyo lwasunda pa Zed.
Satana knows what he is doing. Mulelolesha fimbi! Ine ndelolesha fye!
Yaba appointing again in an elective position!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My appeal to the president is to timely drop Mr Mangani. This man is lazy.Just like Chama DC who is corrupt and has no remorse for the poor people there. He is busy amassing illegal wealth. He will not enjoy it.PF top brass do something on these two issues.
