Newly crowned African Boxing Union ABU Bantamweight Champion Catherine Phiri says passing her grade nine examinations will be the greatest thing to ever happen this year.
Catherine says her aim is to make education her priority.
She also says she does not plan to stay in boxing for long, although she will only quit after winning a world title belt.
And Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions operations Director Chris Malunga says the stables will bid to the World Boxing Council WBC for Catherine to vie for the world title.
On Saturday, Catherine added the ABU bantamweight title to her accolades after beating her Ugandan opponent Toma Hawa Babirye at Mulungushi International Conference Center.
On the same night, Zimbabwean boxer Charles Manyuchi crashed Isaac Sowah of Ghana in the third round to defend the ABU welterweight belt.

@Keyser, not everyone has the same opportunities, others have to ‘fight’ their way up. It should be recommended that she hopes to carry on with her sch. Besides, she may not need the sch for work, but to manage to her own businesses as she will have made enough money by time she’s done with her schooling.
