Don’t leak information regarding my office, leak your personal information, Sata tells diplomats

PRESIDENT Michael Sata has advised Zambian diplomats against leaking State secrets and put national interest as priority.

Mr Sata said diplomats serving in various missions abroad, should safeguard the country’s interests above personal interests in line with the Oath of Allegiance to the Republican office.

He said this at State House in Lusaka yesterday when he swore-in former Munali Member of Parliament, Mumbi Phiri as Zambia’s High Commissioner to Kenya and Miriam Mulenga as the new Ambassador to Turkey.

“When you go out there representing this country don’t leak information regarding my office. Leak your personal information. Kenya is very complicated, Turkey is new, you have direct access to the Permanent Secretary and my office, if there is anything, you can contact us and you will be assisted,” he said.

And in an interview, Ms Phiri thanked the President for appointing her to serve in the diplomatic mission.

She said she was ready for the challenge and would work for the betterment of relations between Zambia and Kenya.

Ms Phiri said she had vast experience as a politician and would manage to perform according to expectations.

“I don’t miss my political life, that is in the past and that’s why some people fail because you still want to hold to past experiences. I am now a civil servant and I will work for my country to boost trade relations between Zambia and Kenya,” she said.

  1. Thats bcoz Sata’s office is part of an axis of evil involving the AG and director of public prosecutions on how to fix rivals like RB and Nevers Mumba with trumped up charges.

    • Family tree bears fruit again. Mirriam is Christine’s young sister. Honestly are there no other Zambians, who can also be appointed. Some missions have up to 5 relatives of some kind (niece, uncle, cousin, nephew, in-law). A country cannot be run on gross nepotism.

    • DC 10,tell us in detail how miriam mulenga is madam kasebas sister. their last names are different. kaseba and mulenga. is mulenga are adopted name in marriage or do they have different fathers but same mother or is it that they are cousins. twebene kaili namukwata data!!!

  2. If you keep appointing cadres, what do you expect? There is no discipline and confidence in them to protect our national secrets.Even your health bwana will be everyone’s business if keep this trend going.

    • Is Mumbi Phiri a Bemba woman married to an Easterner or a COLOURED from a marriage between an Easterner and a Bemba?

    • Sometimes i fail to understand this president. The contradictions are just too much.Need we remind him that he also swore on oath to uphold the zambian constitution? He has dismally failed to do so even our fundamental human rights are habtually abused. How can he demand from his appointees something that he himself has pathetically failed. And this habit of appointing only bembas sacks.I am bemba myself but i am embarrassed by this tribalism.

    • I tend to agree with Wynter Kabimba and Guy Scott on tribalism in the PF. Surely, couldn’t the President appoint two ladies from other tribes besides Bemba, even at the height of concerns on this issue about tribalism in the PF? Why deny it when it is so evident even a blind person can see? Wynter and Scott, you are right. Let’s fight this scourge in our Party.

    • All along I was against Kabimba. But now I am for Wynter. Its a pity that Sata cant even be ashamed of tribalism.

  3. in 2016,the new goverment wont spend money on bringing these cadres back.they will just be told to vacate goverment houses and offices then find there ways home at their own time

    • What is the problem HE Sata appointing our dear mothers women are being empowered and this is what PF Govt had promised the Zambians. On the other hand HE is appointing those who have been loyal and supported PF,those are rebellious like you you are reaping what you had sown.

    • Well observed. Shows how much research is done when theseappointments are done. She will feel like a fish out of water, as Turkey embraces more of Islamic practices than a secular state. One hopes the lady will have to be mentally strong to absorb and taken on these cultural differences associated with a lady working in an Islamic setting.

  4. Mr President, remove that lunatic in Nigeria.Zambian n ame is in a mess. You cannot fail as a Nation to find a Zambian to be High commissioner to Nigeria. That man who is acting caused havoc in Ghana,it was not necessary for him to be promoted to Deputy high commission.

  5. These bemba thieves ar nt ashamed of appointments based on tribe. anyway kabimba said it that pf is composed of a clique of tribal elements like kambwili, gbm,& himself the chief of confusions.

  6. Mirriam Mulenga is a young sister to Sata’s wife.Family forest indeed. It will be really costly to send back all these cadres in 2016……Satana corrupt man.Your time of reckoning is coming

    • It will be very cheap all from Ambassador will be put in Economy class and only three children will be paid for the remaining staff will pay and we will pack 20Foot container each (only if you have worked three years in a mission) or pay them $10,000. Each mission will be audited and any mishandling of funds will be deducted from the Accountant and Ambassadors terminal benefits which will only be paid to each staff after they land in Lusaka. Only former civil servants will be considered for redeployment in the civil service the rest will go back to the farms

  7. this man really amazes me wen in opposition at least he used to say some sense now that he is president all he says is irrelevant after rubbish.all the time he was out people are fighting, conspiracies, tribalism, nepotism, cadre indiscipline, all things in this country are not OK at the moment and all he can say is stop party squabbles and don’t leak info.this man is going bananas.he is no longer the sata we used to know.maybe the medicine he is being given is too strong for him.

    • kaili actions are louder than words, its easy to talk, implementation is whats hard, now he is at that implementation stage and he is stuck, all he can do is talk about irrelevant things hoping the nation forgets all the promises he made. like the saying goes, its easy to charm a woman for one night, but not easy to charm her every single night, thats when guys start talking irrelevant, because they have exhausted the good stuff.

  8. Look at the features of the men in the picture…….pure dirty Kaponya. Learn to do a bit of grooming mwebantu. Polish yourselves up! Where do you take the taxpayers’ money that is been wasted on you?

  9. Thats the cost of being president. Information will surely leak. Remember how you made your name thru leaked data while at famaz hse

  10. We need a more balanced govt.does it mean zambia is only for bembas?
The president keeps appoiniting bembas only disregarding the fact that zambia has so many tribes. Its quite unfortunate to note that the calls by even kabimba about tribalism are now being confirmed by the appointments .We hope for a better zambia one day.A zambia which shall be united and inclusive of all tribes.Lets preach ‘ One Zambia One Nation to Pf’. They Might have forgoten it.

  11. Every time we want to hear our President speak, we have to wait for the next swearing-in Ceremony. Should he be tempted to create the Ministry of Swearing-Ins, then all platforms available by our beloved President to peep through cameras would have been shuttered. We cry for positions, but when we are given, we realize that things are not as easy as they might appear.

    • Be carefull of what you want for you may get it .THEY WANTED POWER AND THEY HAVE ONLY ENDED UP EMBARRASSING THEMSELVES.By the way has Nkandu Luo responded to Mwine Lubemba. We are waiting for her response it is the only value this government offers- COMEDY.

    • Nkandu Luo is in a fix. The Ministry she was taken to has no much relevance. She was very passionate at Ministry of Local Government and was determined to stamp out street vending. But Sata frustrated her by dumping her at Ministry of Chiefs where the main activity is paying curtesy calls on chiefs. And in an effort to show her boss that she is not just idle in this strange Ministry but doing something, she has found herself in these wrangles which may not end anytime soon. She is torn apart. I may not blame her.

    • Emmy on 14.2, you sound so much like a certain lady I know. She is always lamenting about Nkandu Luo, how she has been placed in a Ministry that does not add value to her intelligence in any way. She is bemba, by the way, but very critical of HE MCS. But I tell her that if Luo wanted to challenge herself why not resign and become a lecturer or join the UN or something. She loves it just sitting and fighting with chiefs. Good for her.

  12. The President is very close to the first Republican President ( Dr Kaunda ), at least he can learn from the man on how to hold a press conference. I admire Dr Kaunda in the sense that each time it was announced he will hold a press conference one would find people glued or gather around a transistor radio just to listen to him. Matters which were discussed in those conferences were very important national issues which effected change of attitude and approach in whatever Kaunda addressed.
Currently we are now being fed with appointments of new diplomats, creation of new provinces, ministries, districts, DCs and all this spiced with an avalanche of jokes from a notebook. I have not lost hope in the incumbent, he can still deliver

  13. @ cage the crook it’s not about appointing women which is the issue here, but appointing your sister in law who is a nurse and has no diplomatic knowledge at all. even if he is the appointing authority this is unethical and in organised societies this NEVER happens. Lets be objective and think beyond party lines, Like HE said Turkey is a new territory surely can you put your wife’s young sister who’s a nurse and has been out of the country for over 10 years to a Muslim nation as ambassador and you OK to this?
Zambians we deserve better. this is wrong whether you are PF or not wrong is wrong and if you thought Sata never makes mistakes this is it.

    • Mubanga it is worse than that.He has appointed one so called Moyo as ambassador to France. The man is in his 80’s,senile and should be on the death bed.Another one Miles Banda in his late 70’s is ambassador to Malaysia. His former clerk called Jangulo is ambassador to Brazil.By the time PF leaves office we will need a whole lifetime to correct the mess.

    • If True, as im Not sure how valid these allegations are, then these appointments are Criminal, not based on merit, but personal interest -therefore Won’t develop or benefit Zambia, & thus amount to Nepotism & ABUSE OF OFFICE!!

  14. Lol! And this is Coming from a professional leaker! You are a bad example. What with the personal bank details of HH you leaked? Why should anyone take you seriously Mr Ukwa?

    • Is it just lack of education that leads to this mediocrity and contradictions? The annoying thing is that he does not even notice.Remember he insulted Chief Jumbe on live TV then looking into the cameras told the nation that we should respect chiefs

    • @Goncalves,
Not only that, he leaked and had Thandiwe Banda’s payslip published in the press.
Mr Sata is his own worst enemy.

  15. Mumbi Phiri is a known drunkard and sending her into foreign service is a disaster waiting to happen. Ask anyone who patronises bars in Munali, Chainama and Kaunda Square and these people will tell you what they have witnessed when this woman gets drunk. What a shame!

  16. Why do you guys accuse others of tribalism when your minds are fully of tribal sentiments? You, yourselves need deliverance from tribal epidemic you suffer from. Kuti nemisepela itontonkanya kwati bakote very backwards!

    • @ chileya
stop burying your head in sand my brother. there is rampant and unprecedented tribalism being practiced by HEMCS and pf government. unless you are just ashamed to see the naked truth, then we can say you are perhaps a beneficiary of this rotten tribal system. the first step to solve a problem is to acknowledge its existence, outside that you will remain in perpetual denial

  17. The blogs here.. awe sure. and you expect to be appointed in government just because you blog.??? the cadres will always get appointments. keep bloging and see if that changes anything. People want to live off the hadr work of others, after the so called grade twelves campaigned and won, you who is always blogging , we dont even know your face or name, you want to be appointed just beacuse you have one of these degrees we are getting sitting on the keyboard.. Its pure fantasy.

    • Somtimes i think Zambia is a country blessed with *****s.The duty of a president transends beyond looking after pipo who were with him in campaigning. He is expected to take deliberate efforts to reach out even to the minorities. In normal countries the persons nominated are those representing minority interests.Just look at the 8 nominated MP’s for Sata.He had considerations other than national interests. This just one aspect of Sata’s collosal failures .

    • @Proffesole

You are an ignorant piece of sh!t. Who told you that bloggers want to be appointed? Shut that maggot-infested hole you call a mouth. Go and do what you were conceived for – if you don’t know, I’ll tell you – your father and mother want a threesome.

Id!ot! When people have genuine and valid complaints, don’t make it worse by mocking them. Is that the issue here, bloggers wanting to be appointed? I bet you don’t have a degree, that’s so evident from your irrelevant contribution to the topic at hand. People are upset and rightly so. Just Shut it Already Pig!

    • Order! Order! Order!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please members, let’s not be tempted to insult each other. Let’s stick to the motion on the floor. After all, we are all yeaning for a better community we have, Zambia though we reside in different places all over the world. It is our blogging which keeps government on its toes. If Sata and his cabinet are sensible people, they can use some of the comments here to rectify govt mistakes.

    • Call to Order rejected. There is no order from the higher echelons for me to emulate. Why would I be orderly in a disorderly environment?
Where there’s order, I’ll fall in line and be the modicum of order.

    • @High Speed Black Mama -Someone’s still stealing my Name!

I have been following your blogs and your ideas are good. But i have noticed that this afternoon you are just insulting and demeaning bloggers with different opinions. It appears you had a very hectic day. Cool down dear. We need your level headed contributions which someone out there may pick.

    • Not all bloggers with different opinions – bloggers who have REASONED opinions contrary to mine are fine.
Those that are able to reason and see wrongs but choose not to deserve to be demeaned.
I am pretty cool right now actually. But thanks, the tone of your comment is genuinely positive.

  18. They should honour their commitments and always behave in line with the Zambian values to respect confidentiality and not misuse information.
They should always act in a way that contributes to the success of our beloved Zambia.

  19. Mumbi is a niece to Mukanda Lou who is an aunt to Sara. Remember when she was not adopted what she said? That she won’t fight the party and her aunt?

  20. Ba Sata we warned you that George Chellah is a mole planted by bena Meembe and Winter ,watchdog has unveiled their secrets .Winter has 2 rooms booked at Kalahari lodge where they operate from with Chanda Mfula.
Fire Chellah please ba Sata and Winter and Masebo
    PF at risk

  21. Now Listen! Tribal selection for high positions in offices is something one will observe in this Man. Nepotism is back, the system in the Kaunda era! There is little representation from Southern and Western (NWP inclusive) for such positions, worth deserving hard-working men/women with experience in international relations.
Look at NWP!! No MP or Minister holds any high office in the diplomatic service, few or non from the south too. In fact he is taking all the money from the mines to devpt his province. Better doing it mutually to benefit from the resources. It is really a shame. Tribal sentiments in Party recently arose and people fighting amongst themselves were within the party. How would you imagine that for rest of the country? It hurts mwe.

  22. All along I was against Kabimba. But now I am for Wynter. Its a pity that Sata cant even be ashamed of tribalism.

  23. Good morning

Too many posts full of malice are slowly stifling the good spirit on this site.

Why do you want to tell the president how to do his job? Does your boss always tell you what to do at work?

Let’s stop this tribal talk. If Tongas are the majority in UPND, there’s nothing wrong with that. But if Bembas are the majority in PF it becomes an issue because PF happens to be the ruling party. Why should Bembas apologise for being a major tribe in Zambia?

Coming to think of it, it is not surprising. The majority and the outstanding will naturally always be contested because of fear. There are those that might feel so insecure to be surrounded by so many Bembas but hey, we have we not lived side by side with each other all these years? We are not terrorists.

    • @Nine Chale

Fcuk off. Come back when you grow up. You are one of those Bembas with an unjustified superiority complex. Stop justifying wrong.
And I’ll say it from one Bemba to another – Fcuk off and shut up.

    • @Nine Chale,
What do you say about the statement that the PF in Luapula have banned HH from going to that province? You should think before you open your mouth. Isn’t it a fact that the rest of tribes detest bembas for their shrewdness?

    • @High Speed Black Mama -Someone’s still stealing my Name!

I have been following your blogs and your ideas are good. But i have noticed that this afternoon you are just insulting and demeaning bloggers with different opinions. It appears you had a very hectic day. Cool down dear. We need your level headed contributions which someone out there may pick.

    • You Chale, which bemba is the majority tribe? Some of you are not even bembas, you are from Luapula, but because of inferiority complex you have abandoned your ethnic groups to cling to bemba tribe. There are only about 4 to 5 districts in Zambia which are bemba, i.e. Chinsali, Mporokoso, Luwingu etc.

  24. Zambian President kwati bwambe sure ! lick lick! leak your own b.alls ohh sorry information and not me.. lick lick says the president. Kwati nichikabudo

  25. PF is gonga party! In line with this, in line with that, in line with those, inline with there.. and nothing is line with anything they know. amazing and people still think theres something in line with something… in line with our, in line with the gvt, and in line with no line..oppss! ITS JUST PF

    • @High Speed Black Mama -Someone’s still stealing my Name!

  26. …And to think there are still a few elements who think that all is well with this buffoonery govt. Here you have a President wh simply refuses to hold a press conference in the middle of a polarized nation..open tribalism..ring party at crossroads…strikes…increasing budget deficit…but the so called President will be the first to expend his energy on by-elections- failed govt w

  27. Typical of us Zambians, Jealous will kill you! Each person has an appointed time in life and its their time. Honestly it does not make sense to appoint people who never helped to build PF when they were in opposition. No matter how dull these ladies can be, they deserve it in the eyes of the president. Even if it was HH, how many bembas can he appoints looking at the set up UPND. The reason is the same because its Tongas who are biz fighting for it to become into power simple.

    • The simple minded always resort to “it’s jealousy”. This is a country, not a private member’s club. The president’s mandate is to serve in the best interests of the nation. Not to appoint people who are below par to sensitive positions in the international arena, just because hey provided grass root support to his party.

      @My Own
Even your name signifies your low class level of reasoning (at tribal level). Foreign elements can dribble these inept people left right and center due to their inexperience. I shudder to think how vulnerable Zambia is to anyone with an ounce of political nous and dishonorable intentions. Think! Think! Think!

See 26.6 for my reply. Can’t answer the same comment 4 times

  28. The best to know if Sata is practicing tribalism is to count the number of Government officials coming from each province. Each province is peculiar in itself. What we have in Zambia is the fact that Bemba sounding names are found in many provinces, for example in Eastern, Luapula, Central, Northern, Muchinga, Copperbelt, and North western provinces. 7 out of 10 provinces have bemba like sounding names sometimes same names. So let us find out from each province how many officials are in Sata’s government, only then can we tell if he is practicing tribalism or not.

Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.

    • I don’t need to count the officials to know that inappropriate appointments are being made. Look instead at the credentials of the appointees and then trace their familial relationship to the appointer.

See 26.6 for my reply. Can’t answer the same comment 5 times. Ain’t copy & Paste great?

  29. The other tribalism which is very clear is that one practiced at UNZA. At UNZA Tongas and Lozis find easy to be employed as lecturers. Why is it that in some departments these are the majority than other tribes? At UNZA it is so clear and vivid that their is tribalism.

Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.

    • I was at UNZA. I don’t know what yo are talking about. I should believe you were in NS (not sure) where you may be had such an observation. All what i know UNZA does not look at Tribal background for employment as a lecturer. Kapena you a applied for the job and left out. Check your words again!

  30. @30 , why allow that demon to lie thru u? Has the President refused to appoint any person from any of those regions u have mentioned?lt is the Bemba chiefs dat ve a lift with HMCS,wat can u call this? What u want is 2 term de Bembas.Shame on u!

    • @Osmore
Fcuk off with your irrelevant religious demon claptrap. Thankfully your writing is so poor and can’t be understood. One can smell the stench of illiteracy and shouldn’t waste any time reading the writings of imbeciles.
You are an embarrassment to every Zambian – even those with similar views.

  31. Ukwa at it again, look at the names of people he has appointed, all the zombies are from one region. This man has just won himself an award, Zambia best worst president.
HH where are you? capitalize on Ukwa`s weakness, starting with the Northern province where he is busy fighting the head chief, am sure the bembas have now regretted having voted for him.
