Manifestations of current Leadership crisis
Evil keeps on escalating in the Chiefdoms in Zambia by PF rule of lawlessness.The demonic provocations that the PF government is making are un called for and this is a clear indication of failing to rule the Country.
We are in leadership crisis and as Lundas of Zambezi and we stand on our premises that what is current happening is not healthy.
Last week Chief Kakeki was arrested and remanded in police custody for claiming to be a chief and intending to build a palace in chieftainess Nyakuleng’a’s area in Zambezi.
North Western Province police commissioner Eugene Sibote said Kakeki was illegally enthroned with the title, ‘chief Kakeki’ contrary to section 12 of the chiefs Act Chapter 287 of the Laws of Zambia and further wanted to build a palace in another traditional leader’s area without permission.
In August 2013 at a ceremony held at Mukandakunda,Senior Chief Ishindi of the Lunda speaking people in Zambezi East installed Golden Kakeki who was de-gazetted in 1958 by the colonial masters as sub chief.However, Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkandu Luo said the move to install the named sub chief was not in line with the laid down government procedure and said government will not recognize the newly installed Ex- Chief Kakeki of Zambezi district in North-Western province.
The minister said the resurrection of Sub chief Kakeki has the potential to create further tensions between Senior Chief Ishindi and his sister, Chieftainess Nyakuleng’a if left unchecked.She said government was not communicated to, concerning the installation of Sub chief Kakeki and wondered why Senior Chief Ishindi decided to install a sub chief in Chieftainess Nyakuleng’a ‘s chiefdom without her approval.
Brief Background
The Lunda people had and have the following Chiefs in Zambia;
- Mwanta Ishindi
- Mwanta Ishima
- Mwanta Nyakulen’a
- Mwanta Mpidi
- Mwanta Nyambanza
- Mwanta Chizozu
- Mwanta Chisamba
- Mwanta Nyachavuma
- Mwanta Kakeki
These are the Lunda Chiefs and the one who has the powers to dethrone and enthrone a chief according is Chief Ishindi the son of Mwanta Yaanv.
The Lunda, like the Bemba of Chitimukulu in the Northern part of Zambia came from the Lunda- Luba Empire and were scattered to parts of Zambia,Namibia, Angola, Burundi, and Congo. In Zambia the sons of Mwata Yaanv have a wide history which I cannot go on to explain.
The powers of dethroning and installing of the Chiefs are in the hands of the Lunda Royal Establishment and not the Government. It is the right of the Senior Chief who with his Cabinet when they deem it fit to install a chief or to dethrone a chief.No body under whatever circumstance can come in to disturbalize the rituals of what they have done.
Are more arrests of our chiefs looming?
I wish to mention that what the PF government has done to arrest Chief Kakeki is bad. Are they then going to arrest the Senior Chief Ishindi who installed him as chief Kakeki?
Lundas and other tribes I urge and charge you to be alert or else our traditions and customs are coming to an end. Let us fight and stand together by not allowing what PF is currently doing.
There was a similar occurrence with Senior Chief Sikufele and the installation of Kan’ombi in Kabompo, why have they not arrested him? Similarly in Northern Province when the Lubemba installed the chief who is not recognized by this PF government, why have they not arrested them?
What evil have we done, we people of Northwestern province? How long will this PF government continue dividing us and continue pilfering all the resources from our province and leaving us with nothing? Let us rise on our feet and defend our rights.
The PF government is intent at destroying our Traditions.

Why didn’t they arrest Senior Chief Inshidi who installed him as a chief? Why arrest the person that was merely installed?

At times it is better not to say something rather than to expose your ignorance. Pineapples are grown in Mwinilunga not Zambezi. Growing of rice, rearing of animals, fishing and bee-keeping are the main economic activities in Zambezi, especially in Zambezi west. Dunderhead!!

Can the Concerned Lunda Citizen educate us as to why the newly “installed” chief has to build a palace in a chiefdom where there is already a chief? Is it the plan of the Senior Chief to have ‘two bulls in one kraal’? Is the writer sure that those he has listed are the only Lunda chiefs in Zambia? During my base-line research, those many years ago, I visited many places in NWP including Mwinilunga. Unfortunately, the Mwinilunga chiefs are not listed. Why? Are they not Lundas?

my fellow bloggers just like chimbwi no plan has put it this chief ishindi is a problem,just recently he dethroned his sister chief nyakule,nga because she supported sara sayifwanda as member of parliament .When sara was voted this chief became annoyed and thretened her not to step in zambezi the moment she does that she will die and ever since she was voted shes never been to this area.Even his own retainers ‘aids’ can testify to this.i know one retainer called Mr chiyuka who was the longest he can testify to this.This chief is just a problem and he is a person who doesn’t listen from his subject or indunas.We the ones here in zambezi knows very well what is happening and its good the gvt has arrested kakeki.Why is it that the other chief (ndungu) is never in any conflict with anyone?

There is no chief Kakeki in Zambia, he was there in Northern Rhodesia but degazetted in 1958.
Why was he degazetted?

Viva PF government.Chief Ishide of Zambezi should immediately be arrested and be dethroned.He is the confuser of people in Zambezi.He enjoys creating anarchy and has been a source of conflicts in Zambezi and Northwestern at large.Why should he instal a chief in Nyakulengas area ? He behaves like he smokes Dagga and one day he will cause blood shed because he is not normal.Even that degree is of no use to an educated savage like him.We genuine Lundas are fed up with him.

Silence is golden at times. And Ishindi is quiet but am sure doing a lot of ground work with PF/government on the situation. Thats smart!!!!
The last time I checked President Sata was threatening to dethrone Chief Ishindi for holding on to the sister’s (chief Nyak…) instruments of power. There seems to be confusion and anarchy in that particular Lunda chiefdom. The earlier the mess is sorted out the better for the inhabitants of that area.
PF should handle such issues delicately. They should avoid knee jerk reactions. These chiefdoms have been in existence way before PF was conceptualized.
Its better to chew before swallowing than the other way round. A discussion should have been called for between Lou and Ishindi to settle the case instead of this dirty linen being lined up in public.
We hope the arrest is not with secondary motives by PF. We know that chiefdom is rich in minerals. There is a reason why Ishindi enthroned kakeki now. People -read between lines.
PF should avoid fighting with all chiefs in zambia. They have done it in western province, northern province , Southern province and now northwestern province.
Please learn the meaning of “mankanki”. Thats the middle name of chief Ishindi.
Lou should be transfered from that ministry. She is doing a bad job. She should respect the chiefs as they gonna be chiefs in zambia long after she is gone.
