  1. Quite ironic – someone said the FIFA system is so strong that it notices when you play a tough team – Zambia has been awarded for decently losing to Brazil; as if there is decent losing. The boys played excellent and was just wondering what could have happened had that small wizard Kalaba played. Good start to the new coach. We need to organize stronger opposition for the Heroes Stadium opener – Spain, England and the like could be queuing up for world cup preps.

    • I agree with you mate, I see Germany, Spain or many others coming to play against us as they prepare for the world cup next year. After all the Heroes Stadium is almost complete.

    • I as well agree wth you,in as mcch as we lost,we had a decent game against the 5times world champions….dats an archievement to the team and individual e.g fwayo tembo, chisamba lungu, mbola Emmanuel, kabaso chongo and kennedy mweene

    • I think in Christopher Munthali, Bronson Chama, Kondwani Mthonga, Bruce Msakanya and Mukuka mulenga, we can find some replacement for the trio. Though I think it will be a bit tricky to replace Sinkala especially that Chansa is also not performing well. I think Chisamba should be given a plymaker’s row from now onwards.

    • You are totally wrong. Zambia was awarded zero points for losing to Brazil. The new ranking is due to the dropping off of some old matches and some countries, infront of Zambia, losing points. You guys need to refer to the FIFA website.

  2. Good one. So a minimal loss to Brazil slightly improved Zambia’s ranking. This is the beauty of playing against the big boys of world football. Not nonenties like Malawi, Namibia, Botswana and South Africa. Now the standard has been set, Zambia should not lower its standard.

    • Not a chance, the ranking system assigns a 0 for a loss, so you don’t benefit any points for a loss unless it was through penalty shoot outs.

    • why is ivory cost still considered the best team in africa when they last won the cup some 20 years ago?
there are other teams out there that merit that position in my view.

    • They are very consistent. Even if they won it 20 yrs ago, they have been consistent and have been qualifying to the world cup for the past 3 editions.

    • Don’t call other teams nonentities, please. Use a better term. Some years back Marks Maphonyane a South African commentator called Zambia, “inferior opposition” on TV. I’ve never forgiven him till now. Besides, many Zambians live in the countries you have listed. Soccer evokes serious emotions in all countries nowadays.

    • YES AIM HIGH, BUT KNOW THAT IF YOU ARE INVITING A TEAM, YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM.BRAZIL PAID US FOR THIS FRIENDLY BY THE WAY..THE HIGHER THE CALIBER YOU INVITE THE HIGHER THE PRICE TAG.

  3. I like the confidence bloggers have on our team. Admittedly, we played well against Brazil. But the fact remains that other teams we consider to be small have also strengthened. Look at Lesotho, Sudan, Ethiopia, Angola…… we even fear to play these teams now. Way to go is to hire another coach & not this Patrice “Bomola”. We’ve played badly under this guy & his friend H. Renard. For the current salary, we can attract a better coach. We’ve got da material – players.

    • This debate about a better coach ,is it a process or a destination? I have been hearing this since i was a small kid and foreign coaches of all shades have come and gone, if the world was mine i would just give partice to be assisted by four local coaches a chance.

    • Better to have a Zambian coach than having a foreigner.Look at Nigeria and Ghana they only have local coaches with local players.

    • the psychiatrist
Teams all over the world are looking for good coaches who can deliver. As for Zambia, we’ve already had a feel of Patrice, of course, under the armpit of Renard. Under these two guys, our football was not improving after AfCon 2012. They reached their max, ran of ideas & could not add any more value to the team. Renard was brave to leave. We should not expect miracles from Patrice. A duck will always be duck! If he was a good coach, we could have wired Brazil. Let’s not accept mediocrity.

  4. Agree with you people,I was certain the World Football Body was going to recognise the splendid performance put up by the Copper bullet boys. Well, they desrve all our congratulatrions for making Africans proud.KALU and his executive please orgainse for yet another quality friendly early next year.We need to continue with this standrd-quick and accurate paces impressed every soccer fan.Ponga , your comments!BRAVO ZEDIAN LADS.

  5. It was a great game. I was expecting to receive a bag-ful of goals from the Celecao boys but we put up a manly fight. While Brazil used all their high profile subs, we brought in our finished Jemba-jemba towards the end. Our boys actually played agaist two separate sets of powerful Brazilian strikers in each half. I guess it would have been difference had the three “Mailoni brothers” been there!!

  6. i wish these kind of friendlies came before important matches such as the zambia ghana game, had we achieved the same, probably better result against brazil before the ghana game, we would have had confidence to face ghana. lesson learned, high profile friendlies before important games

  7. @ isebania, we already hav a player who can play the midfield role in the name of Mukuka Mulenga, find time to watch him then u wil realize dat he is far much better than Kalaba.

  8. Patrice Beaumelle will stay with us….He is a good coach as evidenced in his team selection, the style of play, the system, the composure exhibited by the boys, they were technically and tactically disciplined and gone are the days when Zambia would shiver when they were paired against Cameroun….

Good luck Zambia as we wait for Spain to call us to play against them at Wembley. We are AFCON champions 2015 in waiting. Keep up with the same spirit bane, because we are a great footballing Nation. The young boyz, Bronson Chama, Chongo Kabaso, Kondwani Mtonga, and others accounted themselves very well…….We are slowly getting back…..

    • Some one was saying Jay jay is simata simata,I didn’t believe it.well jay jay is usually very negative againest FAZ and looks for any discrediting opportunity.Friendlies are only arranged with coffee mates,a lot of work in the background.thanks FAZ.

    • I agree with u, if not that kalusha bwalya was F.A.Z PRESIDENT we could have took the lead in African football, maybe even in the world, I’m suspecting kalusha that he his not letting any coach to look for reliable players. HONOR JANZA is the only coach that has managed to make the team stronger through making a new lineup,ZAMBIA NATIONAL TEAM should be NO.1!!!

  9. The results against Brazil showed that Zambia is a very strong team from the back to the midfield but not the front line. Had we had a better front line the results with Brazil would have been in our favor. We would also have won the 2013 Afcon. Please coach find quality strikers who are creative that can trouble the opponents defense.

  10. Yes the game was great and the Brazilians were very surprised. They thought Zambia was a walk over team. Well done boys and keep the same spirit.

Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia

    • @truth hates, Brazil knew that they would find a good opposition in chipolopolo, thats why they made the invitation and were ready to pay for it, only Zambians do not have confidence in their own team. I have been waiting for a comment from @ Jay Jay, the ever pessimistic duck.

  11. I prefer qualifying for something rather than being ranked high by FIFA. It will be interesting to see whether TP Mazembe uses the “injured” players this weekend. If so, the unpatriotic players should never be recalled to the squad again.

    • Poverty is so bad that you can be redesigned by pay masters, the three milo brothers are a sham, mtine has been arrested for smuggling the unethical players back into Congo, katumbi should be regretting the injured cant play for him either,Zambians lets improve on ethics.Well done FAZ once more,@jayjay?
