HH maintains his stance, independence has lost meaning

UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has maintained that political independence has lost meaning to the majority of Zambians because they are completely marginalized.

Mr. Hichilema says there is nothing to ‘dine and wine’ for because most Zambians cannot even afford the wine.

Reacting to continuous condemnations from President Michael Sata and his ministers, Mr. Hichilema said President Sata and his Ministers are the ones who have every reason to celebrate independence because they recently increased their salaries and are getting free expensive food.

Mr. Hichilema said instead of accusing him of insulting freedom fighters, it is Mr. Sata and his friends who are insulting freedom fighters by making independence meaningless for the majority Zambians through their poor leadership which is making the poor poorer.

He added that if genuine freedom fighters, who died during the struggle, woke up, they would cry to see how President Sata and his colleagues are messing up the once prosperous country.

Mr. Hichilema said in a statement that the freedom fighters wanted complete political and economic independence for all Zambians unlike what is happening now where there is independence for a few people only.

He has since appealed to Zambians to use Independence Day to reflect on what has gone wrong with the country and think of how to move forward.

Mr. Hichilema was yesterday quoted urging Zambians to boycott this year’s Independence Day cerebrations.

Meanwhile, Open Society Foundation Executive Director Sunday Chanda is concerned with Mr. Hichilema’s calls for Zambians to shun this year’s Independence Day Commemorations.

Mr. Hichilema has justified his call by outlining challenges and other problems faced by ordinary Zambians as the basis on which a national event must be shunned.

Mr. Chanda has advised that the outlining of challenges as provided by Mr. Hichilema, while real, is not just a Zambian phenomenon.

He has since asked Mr. Hichilema and other political party leaders to use 24th October to summon the intelligentsia in their respective political establishments to devise mechanisms to defeat these challenges.

In a statement, Mr. Chanda has further urged Zambians to avoid politicking over a serious national event as they risk cheapening the cost of Zambia’s political freedom.

    • Its you who is trash coz the man is talking sense and you cant see that, the president and his ministers will get allowances and dine and wine on top of their recent salary increaments, what about those who cant even afford a meal at the end of the day.

    • i think the one who is trash is you.blv me on thursday you wil just be drinking like you always do day in day out wats there to dine and dance abt.the only pipo who wil be there ar only those who wil be marching and they wil only be there cos their firms wil have bought them brand new suits.

    • This boy is so full of it.
He even has the audacity of condemning independence after stealing from ordinary Zambians and condemning them to perpetual poverty as he and his family enjoy the stolen wealth!!

With this unpatriotic attitude which 1diots will vote for him?

    • Terrible thoughts! How can independence lose meaning? I have never heard such a shameful thought from an African. That is the problem when a person purporting to be a leader lose sight of history…! If anything, independence celebrations should be – must be used to advocate for more equality and economic freedoms!! HH you have just lost one more vote!

    • SATA IS NOT SELFISH, TAX EXEMPT WILL BE K3000 IN JANUARY, PF FOUND TAX EXEMPT AT K800, SO I SEE NO REASON FOR THE UNDERFIVE TO CRY FOUL WHEN HE IS THE ONE WHO GAVE AWAY THE MINES FOR FREE. SHUT THE HELL UP YOU STUPID BOY.

    • Why do you find this to be trash?HH the only hope for Zambia.I challenge anyone to stand against
HH in 2016 and they shall lose.

      John 3:16

    • So much unrealistic debate! In fact there is no such a thing as Independence. The only thing I know about Independence is having a govt that rules on its own with citizens having a free right to chose their own leader.

But what I know this country is not yet independent. You are still being ruled by the western world. budgets; full of deficits need to borrow, minerals; regulated by known stock exchanges, Drugs; so much shortages, cant manufacture own drugs, Presidents salaries; am afraid!, to own a plot; need to be a cadre, Scholarship children; dancers in foreign lands and so on.

      Independence?

      So

    • @avtomat karanshinkov (AK47)

For give me for saying this; do you comprehend articles written in English? If not I advise you to do some work on this.
HH has clearly stated that “there is nothing to ‘dine and wine’ for because most Zambians cannot even afford the wine.” This implies that majority Zambians have become so poor that if they can’t manage to buy akabunga and send children to school how can they celebrate.
He went on to say “President Sata and his Ministers are the ones who have every reason to celebrate independence because they recently increased their salaries and are getting free expensive food.” In other words this only Sata and his politicians will celebrate because they now get paid more and will eat and drink free wine paid for by poor Zambians through…

    • @avtomat karanshinkov (AK47)

If these are no real issue to be raised the I don’t which planet you live on.
HH has learned some of Sata ‘s tricks when he was in opposition.

SATA NEVER ATTENDED ANY CELEBRATION WHEN HE WAS IN OPPOSOITION. So why make a fuss about HH .

      SATA IS A DANGEROUS HYPOCRITE.!

I hear nurses have been duped again. How true is this?

    • Youngman learn and finish school come and look for a job down here. You will support HH the first 2 months of Bing in zed. Unless your relatives are the ones sharing the loot

    • HH is right. Zambia is now enslaved by it’s own backward perspectives and lack of tangible development.

When all Zambians get equal treatment in hospitals, when all children have access to education then I will celebrate independence.

    • HH was probably born after independence does not value the struggle and is ignorant by comparison how Africans used to suffer. We are far much betterof now and deserve to celebrate and will only stop celebrating when HH becomes president if ever at all.

  1. Until future governments STOP parading carders during such events will independence celebrations make any sense. With PF wrangles, no money in our pockets, high prices of cement,no clear direction by the president….how can i celebrate independence. HH i agree with you.Tuleikala fye.

  2. ALEISA ALEISA. Walasa Mudala HH. If Sata has ears, he will listen. You have shut up press releases from Bwinjimfumu

  3. Some nurses are heartless. My friend’s daughter was taken to Ndeke clinic – kitwe two nights ago.She was expecting. When it was time to give birth she was alone because the nurse who was on duty was fast asleep. In the process the baby died because there was no one to assist. My friend went there to see her daughter early in the morning only be told the bad news . My fellow workers let us be duty conscious because we get bread and butter from our places of work.Shame on Ndeke clinic

  4. All the sudden, it with started by other opposition(KK, PF) leaders shunning the independence day, now it is UPND? I like this day as a day we could met our girls from Mission school and far back when we could have enough meat, dances and all sorts of games. Alas, now the day is turned political; cadres to go to state house and drink their heads off. I hope they wont fight, with this confusion in PF???????kaya

    • Because Sata used to shun does that give HH a passport to be in Sata shoes?…In short HH is acknowledging that the things Sata is doing are damn good no wonder he (ka HH) is doing the copy cut without a any copyright authorisation.

  5. HH is the man of the moment. Unfortunately the man is a deep thinker and far much advanced to argue with these kaponyas. HH needs interpreters to explain issues to Gorge Chella and Fred Membe. He is at a very high frequency

  6. politicians r crap at times, in the States they caused a shut down, but the difference with Zambians is that we don’t have a national goal to gauge our performance, all parties do is put a general statements like stupid kids.

  7. HH is correct. Celebrating independence now while the vast majority are in drowning in poverty is madness. The fact that poverty was imposed on Zambians by successive governments since 1991 clearly points that our enslavemnt must be ended if we are to celebrate. And this is NOT the time to celebrate given the serious reduction in the economic freedoms that citizens enjoy due to neoliberal economic enslaving policies loved by the PF and the MMD.

  8. HH is talking much sense here.Ordinary zambians have even less money today than 2011 due to the rising costs and PF’s mismanagement.

    • Just continue feasting on the money your paymaster stole through PRIVATISATION. As waste time here, develpment in riching all corners of the country. Come 2016 you will be reduced to the weeping child again. And that will be the time HALEISA HALEISA will become HALEKA HALEKA for ever and ever.

  9. (1) HH – where were you when Shoprite workers were on strike.?

    (2) I saw that you went to give solidality to the nurses. Why didn’t you do the same to shoprite workers?

    (3) Is it because nurses where fighting the government in power you are opposed to or is it because you have an interest in those businesses?

    (4) Let us be objective in what we do and not play double standards if we are really fighting for all Zambians’ independence, then we must do it for all of them.

    • we have Daliso,jk,pompi, ruff kid, kannene, mampi, mark ii,judy, pilato to mention but a few artists willing to perform.

Good news again almost all super markets have sliced prices only lazy people who want manner to fall from heaven can complain.

Also Zambian breweries have reduced on beverages/alcohol.

Mailon sisters have also bought new outfit for the occasion and are likely to reduce on Toll fees at the Toll gates.
And many more …..so it will be colourful as you even witnessed this morning gallant men in uniform preparing for the occasion. WHAT IS HH FOR WITH ALL THIS AT OUR DISPOSAL.

  10. THOSE CONDENMING HH,,PLS TELL US HOW YOU CEREBRATE INDEPENDENCE.IF NOT JUST WATCHING ZNBC,,SATA CUTRTING THE CAKE,,CARDERS DANCING CHIKOKOSHI

    • TUKACHINDA,TUKAIFETA,TUKASHANA,TUKAFWENKULA AMASHA,TUKALA NENG’A

      UKUPENDA INTANDA KWANDWA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • wat ego are you talking abt ba saulosi naimwe?it would make sense to celebrate economic independence.even if you dine at state house today eat t-bone and drink wine tomorrow you will wake up in reality finding nothing has changed.so those who want to celebrate let them do that.

    • @CLEMON I HAVE NO DOUBT U ARE A PF CADRE FOND OF TWISTING STORIES.NO HEROE HAS BEEN INSULTED UNLESS U ARE USING PF EARS TO HEAR

  11. H.H FOR PLOT ONE IS 100 PRECENT CORRECT,,ITS BUSINESS AS USUAL,,,ONLY KAMBWILI,SATA,GBM,KASEBA, ARE THE PEOPLE TO CEREBRATE ESPECIALLY AFTER INCREASING THEIR SALARIES AND EATING GOOD FOOD WITH NO SUBSIDES….SATA IS SELFISH

  12. I don’t remember MCS attending Independence Day under LPM or RB, infact his objections to the functions were even more unreasonable than what HH has said. Those who support PF, tell us if MCS ever attended this function under LPM or RB.

  13. H.H IS RIGHT,,ABA BA PF NI BAMAMBALA,,TOO STINCH…THEY WILL JUST ENJOY THE INDEPENDENCE CAKE ALONE SUREEE,,,,SATAA WAWAAA…H.H IS THE MAN FOR STATEHOUSE

  14. Did Sata the super hero to Chanda ever attended any state function including independence day celebrations, meaning he was also insulting the freedom fighters for the past 10 days.

  15. EDGAR LUNGU …..ORDERS

    THE BOY HH……DEMANDS

    PARDON TREASON TRIO-LISTS

WHERE IS DECORUM IN ZAMBIAN POLITICS?

  16. Chiwanangala,,is no normal, because he has run away from his family to kitwe for independence,,but he will not be allowed to eat the cake by sata

  17. H.H. is right money for bye election is there and for judge chikopa for hotel rentals is there for development is nil.

  18. HH (Hakaivotel Heka) is trying by all means to follow Sata’s path, but unfortunately for HH, all is backfiring on him. Mr. HH, you can never be and will never be Sata. You talk nonsense at the wrong time. Where are your advisors?

    1. Indecependence celebtrations have nothing to do with your so-called political inclinations.

    2. How come you did not go to show solidarity with Shoprite workers? Is it because they stock beef from among your animals? Do you see how selfish you are? You cared about your businesses and animals instead of the lives of people who died because of the strike that you encouraged.

  19. Mr. HH, don’t be holier than thou. I am one of the workers at one of your farms. We will soon spill the beans and show the entire nation the pathetic conditions of service that you have exposed us to.

The way you come out to the media as if you have a heart for people and yet you are the exact opposite of who you claim to be. Start with your own workers. Give us human conditions of service before you even attempt to lead the nation.

What kind of a hypocrite are you?

  20. I WLL ALWAYS SUPPORT H.H NO MATTER WHAT….H.H STATE..I WLL VOTE H.H…FELLOW ZAMBIANS LETS VOTE H.H FOR QUALITY LEADERSHIP TO BETTER THE ECONOMY

  21. FOR SURE IT CAN LOSE MEANING WITH HH NOT THE PRESIDENT HIS JUST ACTING LIKE A MAD MAN.INDEPENDENCE IS INDEPENDENCE………..FULLSTOP

  22. HH privatized our parastatal companies recklessly, while stealing our money. Zambia’s privatization exercise administered by HH condemned more Zambians to poverty than the colonialists or any other government thereafter. Who is HH to talk about Zambians shunning Independence, when he took away our assets and became a rich man while we suffer? We will celebrate, commemorate or indeed reflect on the future of this country on 24th October.

  23. HH, kachepa what is the meaning of independence, you should blame MMD who wasted 20 years without equipping its citizens with batter education. Stop wasting our precious time because you are one and the same.

    • …….he should also blame himself for stealing billions of kwacha and assets from the Zambian people during the privatisation exercise which made him rich. How can Zambians wine and dine when he stole all of their monies and wealth?

This man is the biggest hypocrite Zambia has ever had since the colonial days.

If you don’t mind, please just go back to your businesses which you amassed through stealing money from the Zambian people

  24. Free message to Mr. HH…

When you stole Zambian people’s money through privatisation, you condemned millions of them including their children to abject poverty. You brought Luanshya to a dead city because of your appetite for wealth. We will never forget.

The only thing you left millions of Zambians with is the same independence you are now condemning.

How can they wine and dine when you stole of their monies?

    • Mmmmm….guys you can remind people. I don’t think HH will ever repeat to talk such nonse as he has been well reminded.

    • Its Sata and Kabimba who stole K2 billion . If you were born in the 80s and 90s then you have got a lot to learn about Sata and Kabimba’s scandals. Thats why Sata can never fire Kabimba.

Even today HH earns close to £1.5 million a year for providing economic advice to large international companies in Zambia and abroad. Just imagine he is not holding a paid political office but earns over 3 times what Sata gets as president. Thats why Sata is so bitter and now trying hard to match HH ‘s earnings by increasing his pay so many times. Come January Sata’s pay is going up again.

  25. We should all stop celebrating independence because of Michael Sata’s mismanagement of the economy and widespread human rights abuses.Sata has on many occasions ignored the constitution thereby making strange and illegal decisions and he deserves to be impeached; but, unfortunately, his minions in cabinet and parliament won’t allow impeachment to happen.
Zambia will soon experience a political disaster.

    • Which planet are you in? Just continue feasting on the money your paymaster stole through PRIVATISATION. As waste time here, develpment in riching all corners of the country. Come 2016 you will be reduced to the weeping child again. And that will be the time HALEISA HALEISA will become HALEKA HALEKA for ever and ever.

    • @Kaambwa.

Now I believe HH ni mukali zo-ona. Chiluba , Mwanawasa, Banda, have all failed to convict HH for the money you believe he stole from privatisation. And now your SATA has also equally failed dismally to bring any charges against him. SATA the so called man of action has proved himself into a man of inaction.

Is all this not proof enough that HH never stole any money?

  26. Its possible for HH to win 2016 but i still doubt if has substsnc to make real difference. Looks as if will be anothe failed project

    • HH can’t and he won’t win the 2016 elections. Mark my words. He is already a failed political project.

But HH has proved that he is a success in:
      1. corporate world
      2. stealing privatisation money

    • @ kaabwa
I suggest you concentrate on your failed projects may be they can resuscitate. your amount of hate for HH will just get your butt screaming rice matter . in this country, there are laws, if he had stolen from you, with sata then as second in command and now in command, HH would’ve been behind bars. swallow your envy and work hard to accumulate your own. whether you like it or not, 2016 state house will not be occupied by your great grand father

  27. Myself I stopped celebrating independence a long time ago, but not for the shallow reasons put up by HH. Independence has never really been true independence since 1964. We are still under colonial imperialist rule, except that because we were given black “governors” (presidents) and an illusion of elections we think we are independent. HH is right for the wrong reasons. Though I stopped celebrating independence, I still attend functions to meet fellow Zambians in the spirit of unity. It is Zambia Day. A day to reflect, not conflict. Like I said, I dont believe in independence, but I still go to meet fellow Zambians in the spirit of togetherness as a nation.

  28. VERY FEW IN UPND WILL APPRECIATE
    WHAT MADALAS LIKE KAUNDA, KAPWEPWE
AND JULIA CHIKAMONEKA WENT THRU AT
THE HANDS OF THE COLONIAL MASTERS.

JULIA STRIPPED NAKED TO DEMAND FREEDOM
    ‘NOW’. KAPWEPWE ONCE WROTE,
‘KUTI TWABELELA LELO TA TWA TWAKALABE’
    MEANING
“WE CAN FORGIVE THEM (COLONIZERS) BUT
    WE SHALL NOT FORGET”

HH IS FOLLOWING IN THE FOOT STEPS OF HIS
UNCLE, NKUMBULA. THAT IS WHY KK AND
    KAPWEPWE DITCHED HIM TO FORM
    THEIR OWN PARTY (UNIP) .

HH MUST BE REMINDED THAT THE
    INDEPENDENCE WE CEREBRATE IS
    POLITICAL AND NOT ECONOMIC.

  29. i dont subscribe to those who insult but i want to contribute: independence is the same the meaning is the same. we are an independent country. what i can say is that, when we got this independence we have used our liberty an occasion to the fleshly desires. we have made mistakes.the mistakes today for a bad life cant be attributed to pf alone, mmd unip and our cultural setup, our traditional leaders have not been inspiring.
we can share the burden to improve the living conditions of our people

  30. i dont subscribe to those who insult but i want to contribute: independence is the same the meaning is the same. we are an independent country. what i can say is that, when we got this independence we have used our liberty for an occasion to the fleshly desires. we have made mistakes.the mistakes today for a bad life cant be attributed to pf alone, mmd, unip and our cultural setup, our traditional leaders have not been inspiring.

  31. The argument against HH does not hold. HH is right in the light of high levels of poverty attributed to by mr Sata and his government. Political independence in the past has been shunned by mr Sata while in opposition and Bembas never condemned it. Today they are in the for front condemning HH whose reason is quite understandable when the majority Zambians are wallowing in poverty while Sata and his team have increased their salaries. This is a president who made endless promises to Zambians and now is preoccupied in squabbles within his own party forgotten about delivering to Zambians. Yes independence celebrations has lost its meaning in Zambia. Zambians have been abused and mistreated by PF govt. More Zambians have been incarcerated than any other government in Zambian records.

    • Because you think with TRIBE and NOT YOUR BRAIN, you have switched to the tribal topic!!!

So you and you HH think by doing everthing that Sata did, HH will go to state house because Sata also managed to go to state house? That is where you and your HH are getting it wrong.

What worked for Sata may not always work for HH. He should find his own formula. The political landscape is changing. He can’t still depend on Sata’s formula.
Look at what has happened to him for instance? Sata never got this nationwide condemnation. But HH has tried it and everyone has condemened him apart from your people enjoying the money he stole from the Zambian people through Privatisation.

    • @ Quasquas,

Two catgories of Zambian people currently wallowing in abject poverty are:

      1. The people HH stole money and wealth from during the privatisation
      2. HH’s employees countrywide whom HH trashes with inhuman conditions of service

How can the masses wine and dine with HH? Does HH have a conscious?

    • It seems you are a PF hired gun. Whether you like it or not UPND is the party resonating well with the majority of Zambians out there.

So just eat and steal more for now before 2016. Please be clever not to be caught because UPND shall hire FBI and MI5 to investigate your accounts around the world. They can do this job for a fee of 10% of what they recover plus $1million.

You will be safe to hide your money in Russia and Cuba before they change their political systems.

  32. To absolutely ignore our political in-dependence would be a wrong move as generations to come have to build on this history for an economically in-dependent Zambia.I would only agree with Mr H H to the extent that we celebrate this day without extravagance of public resources and use the time to focus on how better we could liberate ourselves from economic bondage.

  33. It does not make sense for opposition political party leaders like HH (or even Michael Sata when he was in opposition) to attend an event where opposition leaders will just be insulted and embarrassed by ruling party cadres. There should be a rule that there should be no political party attire or political party events on the programme at Independence Day neither for the ruling party nor the opposition. If no Head of State will have the courage to enforce such a rule, then let the event become a party event for the ruling party. This is the only sensible solution. Those condemning HH should first summon the courage to stop ruling political parties from abusing the event for party propaganda purposes.

  34. Zambians have fresh memories of how Mr Sata behaved in exactly the same manner not long ago. He said one wonders why President Sata has castigated Mr Hichilema instead of commending him for “emulating” him.
“We challenge Mr Sata to explain to the nation why it was right for him to shun State functions such as independence celebrations and why it is wrong for Mr Hichilema to do the same,” Fr. Bwalya charged.

    • @ KAMA

So you and your HH think by doing everthing that Sata did, HH will go to state house because Sata also managed to go to state house? That is where you and your HH are getting it wrong.

What worked for Sata may not always work for HH. He should find his own formula. The political landscape is changing. He can’t still depend on Sata’s formula.

    • @kaabwa
you 1diot do you think sata had any formula worthy emulating other than a pack of lies coming out of a mouth surrounded by a beard full of white hair/ ulekwatako insoni mune. you must be one of these bakandiile. enjoy while it lasts because you will certainly see chimbokaila after 2016

  35. I call on the BEMBA speaking people to turn in MASS and celebrate independence celebration of in ALL parts of ZAMBIA…..At state house we shall speak BEMBA only — Kalo KESU. We are Happy Mike has given us a a PROVINCE(within a province), CATTLE(to us who never owned them and the WHOLE country will pay the loan on our behalf) ; CABINET(Bemba people); JOBS (foreign and CIVIL services on behalf of other regions and tribes) and FINALLY CONTRACTS from GOVT tenders……………………………………… Truly we understands why others want to shani it and we accept their decisions…DONTi KUBEBA

    • @ Tubulu

Use your BRAIN to THIBK and REASON. Don’t use your TRIBE.

Its not the TRIBE which made HH to utter those words. HH is being condemned on basis of his weakenesses politically as an individual and not based on TRIBE. THINK Please!!

  36. His MPs have not rejected those same salary increments and have gladly received them…..all opposition MPs represent their parties’ moral values. If they supported their own salary hikes, HH, Nevers etc accepted them as well…..so lets stop cheap politicking and get to the business of developing our beloved Zambia

  37. Ba HH,whether broke or not,Independence is not about cerebrating our economical success. We are trying to remember the people who fought for our freedoms of which you are the beneficiary. You can stand tall today and cerebrate your bussinesses because someone lost his life and blood was shed for that.In my view, independence is more like a memorial day for freedom fighters than dining and winning of which each one of us has to reflect about the past whther hungry or not.

  38. HH is the Messiah on this..we have no time ..why should we waste time to dine and wine with criminals when our families are poor..?the PF has made lives even more harder!!

    • @ Pompwe,

      The correct question should be:

“why should we waste time to dine and wine with criminals (who stole Zambian people’s money through privvatisation) and when our families are poorly and ill-treated through HH’s companies conditions of service..?”

    • @Kaambwa

Get your facts right. HH was contracted to carry out the task because Lybrand & coopers he worked for tasked to do so. Lybrand and coopers was awarded a contract by Sata and his MMD friends. HH did his job well and handed over the money to MMD to which Sata was the SG. What happened to that money only the late Chiluba knows. Those who tried to talk about the issue were eliminated. Ronald Penza, Paul Tembo, and Chiluba all died under mysterious circumstances. Mwanawasa survided the first hit but was later taken care of.

HH got what he deserved for his hard work. Even today he is earning more money than Sata and his cabinet combined per year for economic consultancy services
he provides around the world. He now collects over £1.5million. per year.

  39. SATA IS NOT SELFISH, TAX EXEMPT WILL BE K3000 IN JANUARY, PF FOUND TAX EXEMPT AT K800, SO I SEE NO REASON FOR THE UNDERFIVE TO CRY FOUL WHEN HE IS THE ONE WHO GAVE AWAY THE MINES FOR FREE. SHUT THE HELL UP YOU STUPID BOY.

  40. @kaambwa

Please understand that at independence we Bembas had nothing. But today we have everything while other tribes have just been complaining we have taken over what they used to have …………FINE

  41. I WLL ALWAYS SUPPORT H.H NO MATTER WHAT….H.H STATE..I WLL VOTE H.H…FELLOW ZAMBIANS LETS VOTE H.H FOR QUALITY LEADERSHIP TO BETTER THE ECONOMY,,H.H FOR REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT

  42. H.H IS A GOOD LEADER,,HERE IN BEMBA LAND WILL TRY TO DO OUR BEST TO VOTE H.H FOR PLOT ONE..SATA AND PF HAVE NO REGARD AND RESPECT FOR TRADITIONAL LEADERSHIP,,H.H VIVA H.HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  43. Kambwa…..Kambwaa…is just a hule..the other night was seen at P-Squre perfomance at woodland stadium with a big fellow hule,,thas how PF leaders are

  44. H.H IS A GOOD LEADER,,HERE IN BEMBA LAND WILL TRY TO DO OUR BEST TO VOTE H.H FOR PLOT ONE..SATA AND PF HAVE NO REGARD AND RESPECT FOR TRADITIONAL LEADERSHIP,,H.H VIVA H.h

  45. H.H FOR PLOT ONE IS 100 PRECENT CORRECT,,ITS BUSINESS AS USUAL,,,ONLY KAMBWILI,SATA,GBM,KASEBA, ARE THE PEOPLE TO CEREBRATE ESPECIALLY AFTER INCREASING THEIR SALARIES AND EATING GOOD FOOD WITH NO SUBSIDES….SATA IS SELFISH..A HEAL

  46. I have noticed a person blogging and changing names to appear to be a diffrent person. this level of bloging is toxic and a complete i.doicy of the highest order. It shows you a person with nothing to do. surely such amount of energy can be wasted on something important.

  47. HH is 120% correct in his assessment of the current political and economic situation in Zambia. THERE IS NOTHING ZAMBIANS WILL BE CELEBRATING UNDER THE PF REGIME.

    (1) There is no money in the pockets of the working class, men & women trying to make ends meet.

    (2) Life for the poor has been made more unbearable by PF policy of removing subsidies on fuel and fertilizer. Hence it is more costly for the poor to travel, run business and engage in productive agriculture .

    (3) The cartels in PF system have established dubious companies to siphon more money from public financial institution.

    (4) Issues surrounding the Chikopa Tribunal, imposition of Acting CJ Lombe Chibesakunda are mechanisms to protect thieves and silence reason.

YES, INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATIONS HAVE LOST MEANING.

  48. Ba nephew please update me as you seem to know alot. Did sata ever attend independence celebrations during Levy Mwanawasa and RB??? if not why do you want HH to attend?

  49. I feel sorry for the president, because when all is done, it is his legacy that will be at stake, not the spokespeople and others riding on his name, that is the nature of the world. Somewhere out there are people riding on this man and not giving him the best advice out of self gain for these people. I doubt if this man when he had a vision for starting his party went into it for self gain, he only knows, but what is out at play is absolutely different from the beliefs and expectations that were created.
Does the person writing on his behalf believe what he is writing? or is he convinced Zambia is full of fools. You are making the man and yourselves as having won materially, you are losing the moral argument. You can blame HH as much as you want, he will be subjected to the same…

  50. the tribalists form that forest who believe in just stealing are upset with HH..kekekekeke..he’s the man of the people not your late ukwa..kekekekekee

  51. Please this is not a Bemba, against others, very few Bembas are gaining out of this, the majority Bemba are suffering, they are being used. The tribal aspect of this govt is beyond doubt, for the favoured minority Bembas, the rest suffer equally. We need unity, full stop. This is a few peoples, dividing all of us, Bembas are wonderful people and decent. I am Lunda and know from my life.

    • @Reuben
Thats the kind of debate I would entertain. Honestly we should not demonise the Bembas because the of the foolishness of a minority hypocrites and thieves in government.
I know a lot of Bembas who are hard working are equally suffering in just the rest of Zambians. To honest with you people its only about 450 people who are enjoying the spoils of Sata being in power. This number includes Sata ,his cabinet , those in foreign missions abroad and a few of their relatives, police and army chiefs, and district commissioners and PF mayors thats all. The rest of the Bemba clans are in deep sh1t just like the majority Zambians. Thats why now they are beginning to ditch PF and are joining UPND or forming other smaller parties.

  52. Because Sata used to shun does that give HH a passport to be in Sata shoes?…In short HH is acknowledging that the things Sata is doing are damn good no wonder he (ka HH) is doing the copy cut without a any copyright authorisation….

  53. Good evening

The statement is as risible as it is careless. Independence day cannot lose it’s meaning simply because it is not a jovial event for many Zambians.

The significance of the event is to honour our freedom fighters who suffered for the liberation of our country from colonial rule. It is an occasion to reflect upon where we have come from as a people and be thankful for our nation. To do this, one does not require food, drinks or even politics.

This is one thing I admire about the West. They have their political squabbles too but when it comes to national historic events, they will lay aside their differences to pay tribute to the founders of their nations.

  54. @79 ,you are right. Mmd was extremely violent toward Mr Sata.lt was not safe for him. Not these wrong excuses from dis chief tribalist.’Vonse nivokopela navaupuba’lf Sata behaved badly while in de opo y should u copy dem? Demon! We’re not gullible.

    • Osmore, but you are you st*pid idio*t. The very fact that you are already up in arms and so ready to insult while believing all the lies you are feed just proves how shallow and gullible you are.

  55. HH may have his personal opinion and position on Independence Day celebrations but he must not, repeat not blow it to unnecessary dimensions because he is a leader of a political party which like many others are proud offshoots of the same Independence he seems to be condemning now.

Granted, he may not have been born before 1964 and his cattle-endowed parents back in the village in Monze may not have felt the pangs of colonialization, he should be aware that in the unlikely event that he ever became President the UN Charter AU Charter and other conventions require that each country recognises and celebrates their National Days and recognise those of other nations and be obliged to attend their events at ministerial level.

    • It is not normal to force people to celebrate anything or condemn those who express their views regarding an event. I have heard people who, because of hardships in life, would say it would have been better not to have been born. It is not an offence not to celebrate independence. It is enough to commemorate or recognise the day. The current President and PF also found independence celebrations. For all I know ordinary Zambians never get invited to these celebrations. God to State House and you will see only politicians and those associated with them thronging the grounds.
Anyway, I have nothing against what HH said and the response by the Head of State. The two are political competitors. It is normal for them to talk this way.

  56. At least HH has given you chaps sumthing to talk about. But unfortnately some chaps instead of debating with integrity you expose yo foolishness and how wicked you are. Honestly do u hv to commit sin bcoz of what HH has said. Repent yo brood of vipers! The Lord is watching you. You may hide yo identity on ths forum bt yo cant hide before God!

  57. Privatisation was done over a period some twenty odd years ago. Surely, one must be a genius to still keep money stolen a long time ago. Ok, let us discount Chiluba, may be him and HH struck a deal. But what about Mwanawasa and his dreaded Task Force? Enter RB and now Cobra, and still HH is not prosecuted? No ways!! Please try another lie, this one has been beaten dry.

  58. I have never heard or read a reasonable, mature, viable contribution from the mouth of HH. He’s just an anarchist, duped as politician; angry and very lost!

  59. Calculator Boy,Even me born in the eigthies know the significance of such celebrations.I am travelin kitwe tomorrow. He is just making himself unpopular

  60. HH should check his mouth. Where are his advisors surely? Nowonder Sata kept and keeps telling them that he is way ahead of all them put together.

How on earth can incite national citizens not to celebrate Independence of a country?

All in the name of copying what Sata did? Sata knew when and how to talk. He knew when and how to walk. He knew when and how to run. All these things HH has no clue.

Politics is not for HH. 2016 will even be more disastrous for him. I don’t how different HH is from Morgan of Zimbabwe.

  61. Bashilubemba, point of correction. Only those formally employed will benefit from the higher tax threshold of K3000. That 0.004% of Zambia’s population of about 14m people. Just to let you know that while you celebrate your heft salary increase millions of Zambians including some of your friends and relatives have no jobs but face higher prices resulting from the heft salary increment you were awarded. Expand you mind, fellow Zambian. Unemployed Zambians can only celebrate if there is a reduction in VAT and some indirect taxes. Just to bring Bashilubemba in perspective. HH’s views on independence are not an insult. He is just expressing an informed opinion like anyone else. There are millions of Zambians to invite to State House. It is not just for public servants and so-called FFs.

  62. Why are you moderating a comment which is objective and in clean language when nauseating comments are published? I do not understand this.
