Chembo-Zesco not giving up on title race

Zesco United coach Tenant Chembo believes his side was still in the race to win the 2013 FAZ Super League title.

Chembo’s second placed Zesco are on 51 points, four behind leaders Nkana with two games to spare.

Zesco had a chance to cut Nkana’s lead to just a point prior to the two teams’ 1-1 draw on Saturday in Kitwe.

Chembo said Zesco wants to win the league.

“We have got two more games, we are competing and we have got chances to win the league,” he said.

“We came here (at Nkana) to compete we also want to win the league,” Chembo said.

This weekend, Zesco are scheduled to face Zanaco in Ndola before visiting Nchanga Rangers in Chingola on the final day of the season.

He added:”We just have to win our own games, we have to be focused.”
Zesco are joint second on the table with Nchanga.

    • OHH ! SO YOU PREFER THE LOAD SHEDDERS ? ANYWAY , ZESCO HAVE NOT PROVED TO BE VERY GOOD DESPITE HAMMERING SOME TEAMS 7-1 . THEY WERE EXPECTING TO DO THE SAME TO NKANA ON SATURDAY ! BUT HEY , LIME IS LIME AND NKANA IS NKANA !

  1. Nkana and Zesco can not play continental football with those kind of of players. They can not attract good players like the way it is in South Africa.

    • They will play with the players they have Chief ! The fact that our league is poorer ( financially ) than SA does not mean we roll over onto our backs and die !

    • BA SO CALLED SHARP RAZOR- ARE YOU NOT AWARE THAT NKANA FC PLAYED IN THE FINAL OF CONTINENTAL FOOTBALL WITH THE SAME ZAMBIAN PLAYERS?
