Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili has revealed that the ministry has

Sports will be conducting random check ups on athletes against drug
abuse as such dagger smoking.

He added that there was need to stop drug abuse in sport in order to
have genuine winners.
“Once we establish this anti-doping unit we will be doing it at
random, like visiting some local football clubs at random and pick the
samples so that we can fight this scourge,” Kambwili said.
“This is targeted at all the athletes in the country. Everybody must
be well aware that the abuse of these unacceptable substances is an
offence in sports,” he added.

    • The doping in sport is not only restricted to soccer. Zambian boxers as well as track and field athletes are also involved in doping.

    • Hahahahaha! I knew Nkana would be mentioned. Let the doping squad come so we can see who the real sportsmen & women are. The fakes will be exposed.

  1. But why Cuba to help us? Their facilities are stone age. We need modern methods. Countries like Sweden, The Netherlands, China, Japan, Switzerland, Germany and many more can help us. Even Arabic countries are far much advanced than ancient Cuba.

  2. Of all the countries in the world this BUFFOON Kambwili chooses Cuba, the countries in the forefront of anti-doping technical-know how and legislation are in Europe (UK to be specific) Asia and USA. This assistance is available at their request but these politicians always choose the most difficult path.
Why should be anti-doping agency be reporting to his office why not create an independent quasi-government institution?

  3. Kambwili wife is in uk, kambwili is lonely and horney going after the woman at Dec.
we people working at dec are under pressure becase of recent stories

  4. Drug abuse is not only common in sports. Let the anti-doping process start at the state house where weird actions and confused decisions are the order of the day. We demand quality leadership from the top to set the example.

  5. Gud move Kambwili! Though u’re being critisised, u’re one of the hardworking PF Thugs! Jst frm Luanshya, the only town with play parks functioning!

    • Its no surprise you call such empty tins hardworking no wonder our country is going nowhere…how can a highly ranked official make such silly utterances anti-doping is more about performance inducing drugs than “smoking weed”. If the electorate is moronic like you how do we expect to vote in progressive leaders.
Wake up and take your imbecile of an MP and let him stay there in Luanshya where he is appreciated!!

  6. Ministers, like Kambwili should also be dopped! And even the president! I have never seen such kind of reasoning sometimes witnessed in the Zambian Govt lately. There must be something that has possessed the rulers.

  7. I think in Zambia it is high time we started appreciating the so called minor sports which in their being are just quite massive. The issue of Ant Doping is not new to ZAAA and athletics in Zambia. It had people trained out side the country in the same field and there is a sub committee in ZAAA known as “Medical and Antidopping” in which I was National Chairman. The only set back was funds for this is a very expensive venture and needs a lot of political will. Mr. minister consult ZAAA and am now a consultant in the same field.

    • How can you move forward at ZAAA when you have a President enjoying himself with the perks of job and who has been there since I was primary school.

  8. Bravo to Anti doping Zambia at ZAAA,you guys are well organised in sports enjoying recognition out side the country.Come on guys lets show them the way ,we know it all.

  9. This is good but in zambia most of soccer players and other sports enjoy the weed before the games. so if caught whats the punishment?

  10. Tata ba Jay Jay, I know quite a bunch of you have a problem with that president but the fact of the matter is the one I have just off loaded to the nation. Leave the president’s private life alone he is a person in his own making just like you are and every body else.By the way who does not have a history in life?

  11. On second thoughts, what motivated this idea to bring anti-doping unit? I mean, have we been doing extremely well in relation to opponents in the disciplines we have participated in so far? The last time I checked, we were bad in all disciplines save for soccer, chess and motor rally. So I do not see the logic really.

    • My thoughts exactly – it is always a shame to watch the Olympic opening ceremonies – Zambia’s team of three malnourished looking athletes and many more overweight ‘officials’ always comes out just before the host nation and are then completely ignored only to fade out of their respective disciplines in the first rounds! This is just a money making exercise for our hippo faced obese and unfit minister of sport.

    • LOL! @ Kapangwa Kaleza you are too observant: “malnourished looking athletes and many more overweight ‘officials’”, hahahahahaha! And you are right, the underfed athletes will always be outnumbered by the overfed officials for obvious reason, allowances. Shame. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?
