The Opposition Movement for Multi Party Democracy (MMD) on the Copperbelt says it is saddened by the Supreme Court’s nullification of Solwezi seat formerly held by Lucky Mulusa.
Copperbelt MMD Information and Publicity Secretary Yotam Mtachyalo says the Supreme Court nullification of Mr Mulusa’s seat comes at a time when the country is battling with poverty as by elections come at a great cost.
Addressing a media briefing in Ndola this morning, Mr Mtachyalo added that the development calls for the opposition to be united and strategize and subsequently come up with a common goal.
He said it is high time the opposition converged with an aim of providing hope for the Zambian people and not merely removing the current government from power.
Meanwhile, Mr Mtachyalo has charged that the desired constitution for the country will remain a pipe dream if Zambians continue being docile.
He said Zambians should this time around avoid being taken for a ride and demand for a people driven constitution by holding peaceful mass protests in their demand.

Ba MMD, how many oppositions seats have been nullified since 2011? and how many PF seats have been nullified since 2011? Why are you talking now and what are your MPs doing about it in Parliament? Someone give me the number maybe MMD just started counting now. By the way, shhhh! there are about 7 to 8 more pending by elections just to bring you up to speed. Opposition will be wiped out through by elections. Genius PF! If you cant beat them at the front door, well try a back door.
We are not happy too. The consolation is we are being awakened to the fact that some rapist of democracy want to deny us parliamentary representation. People of Petauke , Malambo, Vumbwi, Mulobezi, Zambezi West and Solwezi Central have no voice in parliament . Shame . Madiba says ” I hate racism because it is barbaric whether practiced by a black person or white person” . People must had nepotism and tribalism whether practiced by a fellow tribesman or not. Zambia 10 steps backwards .Shame .
We all know the root cause, God will help us resolve the fate that has befallen the Zambians. The entire family of the Chibesakunda clan will be condemned for their destination to HELL. Nkandu Luo and Lombe will feel heat of Hell. God Hear Our Prayers
Whether happy or unhappy the fact of the matter still remains the same,Mulusa is even happy has accepted the out come.
What do you expect him to do when the decision has been passed by the highest court in the country. He has no where else to go for redress but to accept the status quo. He can still run for election after 2018 if God preserves him ’til then.
