Bubble Malitoli advises Nkana on CAF Champions League

Ex-Nkana star Kenneth “Bubble” Malitoli says Kalampa must prepare
adequately for the 2014 Caf Champions League.

Nkana returns to continental football after a 12-year long absence
from the competition.

Malitoli noted that competing in the champions league was not easy.

“I think the coach has to prepare the team for that challenge ahead,” he said.
Malitoli added:”It is a different ball game in continental football.”

Nkana commenced preparations for the champions league a fortnight ago.

  1. I agree with Bubble, Nkana will be facing tough competition. However one must worry about unity in the team, given the rate new players are being brought in. What will happen to the players who stood with Nkana through the difficult times and eventually won the championship? Will they be relegated to bench warmers? In my view Nkana only needed to recruit a goalkeeper, a defender and one striker.

  2. @ Brian and @ Bishop,
I agree with both of you. In addition the recruitment should include 3 to 4 good foreign signings. This is just the blunt truth of the matter. I’m sick and tired of our teams going into these competitions just to make up the numbers.
Also, I strongly contend that our league schedule needs to be adjusted a little to allow enough time for our teams to prepare for the continental outings. As of now, our candidates only had two months, if not only one, to prepare. Most countries have their seasons ending somewhere around June/July which gives their candidates plenty of time to prepare and shape their team compositions. Our league season timing, as it is right now, puts our candidates at a great disadvantage.

  3. Bishop and Tubulu, well written my brothers, each comment only serves to enlighten me. You are basically both right, my only observation being that its really a balancing issue, players coming in and going out. My view is that Nkana risk getting the balance wrong at the rate things are going
