The Ministry of Health in Eastern Province has dispelled rumours that there is an outbreak of Typhoid in Chipata district.
Acting Provincial Medical Officer Jairos Mulambya told ZANIS in Chipata today that contrary to the rumours, none of the districts in the province has recorded an outbreak of Typhoid.
Dr. Mulambya said that if there had been an outbreak the districts could have reported the matter to the Provincial Health Office.
He stated that although the province had recorded an outbreak of Typhoid early last year, the Ministry had managed to contain the situation and maintained that currently there was no outbreak of Typhoid.
However, sources within the Ministry of Health in Chipata who chose to remain anonymous maintained that there is an outbreak of Typhoid saying a number of cases have since been recorded in the area.
The sources stated that a number of children in some parts of Chipata district have tested positive to Typhoid and called for the need to sensitize the public on how to take preventive measures before lives are lost.
Typhoid is a common bacterial disease transmitted by the ingestion of food or water contaminated with the stool of an infected person.
The disease is usually recorded during the rainy season in various parts of the country.

@Mushota. you are so nonsensical! it appears you do not do anything but sit on your butt and wait to have a shower each time dirty nick pounces on you. By the way, how is your perpetual engagement going? Back to subject; think the government is trying to cover up but not sure about motive.
