KASAMA Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba, popularly as GBM, has been expelled from the ruling Patriotic Front (PF).
The expulsion of the former Minister of Defence is, however, subject to ratification by the PF central committee chaired by party president Michael Sata.
The party’s top brass in Northern Province yesterday met in Kasama to make a ruling on recommendations made by the disciplinary committee appointed to study Mr Mwamba’s alleged misdeeds.
The executive refused to pardon Mr Mwamba and unanimously approved the recommendation to expel him from the party.
The entire provincial executive which voted in favour of the expulsion said Mr Mwamba had shown an excessive amount stubbornness when he failed to appear before the disciplinary committee on Saturday.
Acting provincial vice-chairperson Peter Mwansa told journalists after the meeting that a copy of the minutes of the meeting had been forwarded to PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba.
PF deputy secretary general Bridget Atanga said she had not received the minutes as the issue was above her.
She referred all queries to Mr Kabimba whose mobile phone was unreachable by Press time.
The party indicted Mr Mwamba for allegedly de-campaigning fellow party officials, and for displaying disloyalty to the party and its president.
He was also accused of being insubordinate to senior party officials and had reportedly demeaned the local executive committee members.
Mr Mwamba was also charged with sponsoring parallel structures instead of working with elected party officials.
When contacted on his mobile phone, Mr Mwamba said he had no comment on the matter.
Northern Province PF secretary Everest Chela said the executive found it difficult to forgive Mr Mwamba as he was a ‘stubborn individual’ as evidenced by his refusal to appear before the disciplinary committee.
“Mr Mwamba also refused to adhere to party directives as outlined in his letter of suspension which barred him from participating in party activities.
“He has no respect for party officials and he has been reportedly been fraternising with members of the opposition,” Mr Chela said.
The Kasama Central MP, who had refused to resign, had been challenging the PF’s top leadership, including Vice-President Guy Scott, to expel him from the party so that he could demonstrate his popularity in a by-election.
A small group of his supporters was spotted standing across the street from the party offices.
Good riddance ! Now our semi-illiterate powerful businessman can concentrate on running his business or join UPND where his fellow semi-illiterates like William Banda occupies posts as big as special advisor to the president
Just shows how ungrateful Sata is, but there a lot of people and entities that ensured Rupiah conceded defeat and that voter results were protected are not happy with this untrustworth fellow.
All that Machinery has moved from the PF.
Only useless MPs that have failed to win an Election despite having stood 4 times like Kabimba will remain in the PF by 2016.
Waste has to be expended, it is nature’s law.
As a small god let him summon his ‘godly mighty’ and blind everyone by reversing the expulsion verdict.
He is such a stubborn and childish person who thinks money is everything in life
Look at your negative reviews, they outweigh the positive. Learn or remain “unreasonable” and “useless” said your Pathetic First (PF) members, Kambwili and San, respectively.
If most of your MPs are useless and if UPND MPs are regarded highly by one of your supermen Mangani who are you to declare UPND members as semi illiterates? Yes they may be semi illiterates but yours are illiterates. This is confirmed by your own President who declared them useless. No wonder he poaches MPs from MMD and UPND to run his Government because his are useless.
Just join UPND,is always is the upnd talk.Always feasting on the victimized. What sort of these UPND species are these?
yes…. now lets see his dream popularity.money is nothing than patriotism.
It is wise for a leader to seek and poach the opposition in order or him to govern propery.Mr Sata our great leader should do the same.People under the tree are the ones that feel how the magoes are dropping. In the same vein mps from the opposition know exactly what mistakes the government is making and once poached they will advise accordingly
Now…. let the real show begin!
Don’t be fooled. GBM is not going anywhere.
MWAMBA’S (GBM) STUBBORNNESS IS TYOICALLY DUE TO LACKY OF ANY MEANINGFUL ACADEMIC BACKGROUND. IN FACT HIS EXPULSION HAS BEEN LONG OVERDUE. HE WAS GIVEN A LONG ROPE ANYWAY. IT WAS EITHER WYNTER OR GBM TO CATCH THE EXIT, BUT MORE LIKELY GBM. I REMEMBER LESS THAN TWO YEARS AGO I WAS ONCE DISCUSSING WITH MY FRIEND AND I TOLD HIM THAT ONE OF THE TWO WILL DEFINITELY GO. THIS APPEARED VERY REMOTE BY THEN. BUT I INSISTED TO SAY SATA HAS A WAY- HE GIVES A LONG ROPE. IT’S GOOD RIDDANCE, ANYWAY. ALIYA SANA NO BUTUTU BWAKWE.
The is no doubt that the UPND MPs are intellectually superior to those in PF. Just listen to parliament radio and hear the arguments presented.
The PF is only saved by Guy Scott who speaks logically by default mother tongue.
My advice to GBM…..either stay out of politics are do not form/start a political party. Zambia has lots of them NAREP, ZADECO, ZDDM, People’s Party, one for danny pule, another for Mike Mulongoti, then there is one for Cosmo Mumba and yes FDD led by madam beautiful Edith Nawakwi and ahh….UPND and the Hour party, MMD. Sure one of these should suit your taste.
MR MICHAEL CHANDA USED GBM LIKE AN AXE.U CLIMB WITH IT AFTER CUTING U THROW IT.
@ judge
And when you climb down you still have to pick it up.
Your metaphor lamentably fails the test bwana……
It is just that when u’re on top u have no use for it. U pick it up only when u get down. Metaphor still makes sense to me.
Interesting. Another bye- elections . I thought we were now weaned.
The man was used alright. It was ‘bubble gum’ friendship! And nobody will believe this has no blessings from high up- coz it sure has!
Sadly, politics is a game of numbers were level headed intellectuals have as much influence (votes ) as the common illiterate vendor on the street.
What I mean is, the fate of GBM is in the balance. This may be the last we hear of him as an MP.
#2.1, IT DEPENDS IN WHAT STATE IT IS IN AFTER USING IT AND THROWING IT. MWAMBA SHOULD HAVE BEEN EATING AN APPLE PIE. SURLY, WITHOUT EDUCATION THEY MAKE YOU DEFENCE MINISTER AND YOU STILL NOT SATISFIED? YOU STILL WANT TO BE PRESIDENT.
No true democratic party can expel a member bcoz doing so is tantamount to expelling democracy itself. You can’t expel freedom of thought and choice as that is what democracy is all about.
Truly, with this expulsion its proof Sata is PF and PF is Sata
In addition, said “expulsion” its contrary to at least two principles of Natural Justice:
a) Nemo Index in causa sua (Bias) and
b) Audi alterm partem (Hearing)
But then, do we really expect rank and file of current political administration not to follow legal principles when the top brass (“A” Team) has been destroying judicial system of the Country?
Doomsday – just glad that att the machinery that ensured Sata got the results have moved due to his untrustworthy nature.
2016 is a differt ball game for Chumbu Munshololwa and his useless MPs. And again, bashiLubemba needs to declare chumbu Munshololwa prohibited.
When you see your opponent ripping himself to shreds without your help all one cn do is sit back and watch in amazement.
Mmembe must be in a constant orgasm, he’s won the battle between Arizona and Post Couriers.
Wynter must be dancing with glee. Rubbing his hands like a kid in a candy store.
The only problem is PF has been doing so many self distructive actions todate. If UNIP and MMD behaved like what PF has done and is doing to itself, they wouldn’t have been in power the long periods they both ruled. If PF pulls through and wins the next general election, many a Zambian will be convinced that HE MC Sata is a genius. So much in-fighting within the party that anyone wonders whether the remaining members will have trust in each other, I wonder if Mr Sata trusts his MPs! I thought by this time group formation of PF as a party will by now moved through conflict, storming, norming and now to performing stage, but looks like PF is actively at conflict and storming stages. When will the brotherhood and sisterhood be harmonously observed, when all members will trust each other?
Was stepping down a crime. Is Sata God that he should not forgive? The same happened to Given Lubinda? If your subordinates don’t challenge u, then u are a bad leader. Whats wrong with supporting a royal grand father? Sata wants to be worshipped but there is only 1 true God Jehovah. PF should not forget where they are coming from
ndeloleshafye
There is no democracy in the PF, no wonder everyone who has got opposing views is considered an enemy of Michael Sata and his evil supporters. What wrong or sin has GBM committed apart from a mere resignation from a cabinet position ? When a party has confused settings and tendies like the PF, can they really manage to run a country with such hipocricy ? Michael Sata is busy changing goal posts at State House, today he can talk of this, tomorrow that and continue to contradict himself. His minions are just noisy makers, no wonder he has called them ”useless MPs and ministers”. The direction of Zambian under the PF is in shumbles.
Why do you think he’s got more useless MPs than any other party.
His corruption whilst at Defense Ministry as well as Zesco. If not enough, let me know and will give you more.
Thanks for your question.
Fighting on two fronts, one internally, the other with opposition. Man, thats very dynamic. Its not for faint hearted. Especially if you add on the war on nurses, traditional rulers, church, civil society, bye elections, etc, it must be a real war zone for Patriotic Front! But we need harmony for sure. What we are witnessing is too dynamic with so many issues too active at same time. But we surely need some factors to remain constant. Like chiefs we need this sector to be normalised, whilst we deal with other things. It is just too much dynamism intra-party, let alone inter-party. Our great man at plot one must be working really hard in this active atmosphere.
Ba president besu kwena awe.Musebanya!!!!.Anyway let us wait for 2016, Chipimo is coming. Dollar($) is up, internal wrangles in the party, by election and insults from the president. Don’t know where this government is going. Anyway, Chiluba told us that Sata can’t be a good president. The country will be in trouble for this man.I’m very disappointed after wasting my vote early in the morning.
You voted for Pathetic First (PF) and you’re now regretting! Very gullible you’re because you have repeated the same 2011 mistake hoping for different results.
You people never change and learn. Shocking.
Good one. Was tired of rhetoric threats. Next?
GBM was a catalyst, used to win an election, now he is of no use…
mwadikizya munyino ba PI EFU, mweeeee, gowokani munyinu, mwebantuu mwe…
Yowoyani bakulu panyakhe bangapulika banganya aba!
Its only in PF were resignition offends pipo and becomes a crime. What a shame to the so called democracy in Zambia. Its terribly embarrassing.I’ll neva make the mistake of vvoting for PF again…besides..in the presidents words, the rest of his team is useless.
GBM has nothing to loose at.Most of those demeaning him are just jealous of him. That man sacrificed a lot to the coming of PF in power, better still he’s a prominent businessman whom if i where him i wouldn’t mind leaving one of the most corrupt party.PF style of leadership is no different from a much taught story of animal farm in Literature.Messiah bwelelanso please before there’s nothing left for us by our zambian selfish politicians.
@Don Kunda Luchanga:
I see, so just because you “sacrificed a lot” then that gives you permission to behave, as GBM himself put it, “a small God”? This guy behaved like a POLITICAL PARTY unto himself. Never seemed to respect any of the PF Party structures or Constitution. He just went about as though everybody in PF should bow down to him because in his mind, as you have aptly put it, he “sacrificed a lot” already. Well politics requires a bit of humility to succeed at it.
In my opinion, GBM could have done well staying purely a businessman than join politics because he is NOT good at being a Politician. In Western Democracies, people give huge amounts of money to political parties becoz they believe in the CAUSE; and not becoz they have an eye at becoming ‘Small Gods’!
The all PF fighting one man for stepping down from ministerial post. GBM was right to step down for a just cause. Many of PF members are just parrots. They can not do the right thing. This is what poverty can do. People used to praise KK that wa muyaya. They think president Sata cannot make mistakes. Mr. Chela thinks Chitimukulu is nothing. Mr, Chela is an embarrassment to the Bembas and to his family.
I can only advise GBM to truly join hands with HH so that they can make an impact in Kasama in 2016.Bembas are being taken for granted by sata because they agree to what is not even necessary.Look at
Kambwili,Kapeya,Chikwanda,Lungu & Miles sampa. These are the ministers Sata is calling useless because they are loyalists and worshipers of sata.Glow up bembas naimwe.

Why support a thief?
ubwato now sinking, but they cant see it
GBM mwaume sana!
SATA has not EXPELLED GBM but Sata is playing politics, the reason he will Chair the Exexcutive COMMITTEE. U ve not seen Sata really playing politics.
Sata enjoys POLITIKING than DEVELOPMENT. He EATS politics, DRINKS politics, BREATHS politics the reason he has said most of his MPs r USELESS the reason being they DONT KNO HOW politiking.
Whn I was in Grade 4 or 5 in late 90s I just used to hear of the King Cobra and ths is the man himself.
Viva HH Viva UPND
Our dear president every thing has got time. I see Pf out in 2016 because of the way things are moving. I want to tell these other part members to be careful because mcs does not want principled people. If you stand on the truth you are gone. The president is busy dividing his own party. Winter k is not a genuine supporter of Sata and Pf.Time will tell. I see a knew part in 2016.
yesterday GBM was a villian to some, today he is a hero. Thats why they say in politics they are no enemies or true morals, numbers never lie. Even William Banda is a special adviser after ukuteta amatako yama taxi driver with machetes at cross road… thats why ukuwina ama election via a small province in the corner of the country will always remain an imposibility until a certain tribalist in some party is repalaced by well meaning guys like Cornelius and Gary.
To GBM, Thank Elohim in everything you are going through. Sometimes storms in one’s life come in order to make us strong but in most cases, they are actually shorten our journeys. The fact that people are able to fight you, its an indication enough that you possess something the enemy is scared off. Who knows what Jehovah has prepared for you? People will say all sort of words BUT it shall surely come to nothing. BE STRONG and STAND FIRM for surely you shall see the hand of one who sits on the Throne.
i would like to say its sad for my man gbm he was really a principled man in poor farmer but wat they have done to him its out of there since they will remember him he was a man campaning for them but today he has come of there useless mps including kibimbi coz he is not a mp he is also among useless let 2016 comes poor farmer so called animal farm they will see viva HH

Politics without purpose. Next!! “Lets see…Madam Masebo is not loyal on Lower Zambezi issue, Can the tribunal do their thing quickly…..
GBM is a dull politician with no strategy. No sane person goes into a fight with a sitting president especially when he runs businesses that depend on government contracts. This is the beginning of his downfall. We used to have the all powerful BY but no more. Opposition politics finished him lol.
People should be principled in life and do support everything that the president does or says. It would be good to be allowed to have a different view or opinion than always say yes bwana. GBM did not start any fight with the president, he simply excused himself from the president’s fight against the Bemba issue and he should have been respected. But as usual you are not supposed to differ with the president otherwise you face severe punishment! Ubututu mwebantu! No wonder people are crying for the new constitution so the presidential powers are wiped away to restore order and dignity in the country!
spot on brother. That is what he was advised by his honest friends.we said mwana resign yes but take it easy.we know the person you dealing with we have been with longer than you.But he didnt want to listen. Those caders who were pushing him have fled.PF politics are very diffferent politics. This is his end.
GBM MWAUME SANA FYE. HE IS NOT A YES BWANA. PF IS A SINKING TITANIC. WAIT
next thing is gbm forms political party.mwalaumfwako.
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha……, very funny!
Ati “next thing is gbm forms political party. mwalaumfwako.” That’s Zed politics for you. Ya, kwena wansekesha @mailoni…!!!!!
Apart from the Bemba Royal Family issue, What was done to GBM resonates to What was done to BY(rest In Peace). An all powerful rich businessman, supports a cause with hopes of getting favor in enhancing business aspirations. Gets appointed as Defence Minister, knowing too well that defence has the most lucrative demand for suppliers among GRZ ministries. Somewhere long the way, business man turned minister becomes greedy and puts himself in line of fire. We all nkow the end result.
Life is funny, very funny.Know you all saying it, but when his brother or counsin said it lasr month. You all said shut up.The guy really knows how sata thinks.I HATE TO BE TOLD “I TOLD YOU”.good luck now it means more corruption cases.watch out.
GOOD RIDDANCE!
YOU PARDON
1. WHEN SOMEONE OFFERS AN APOLOGY,
2. WHEN SOMEONE SHOWS REMORSE
3. WHEN SOMEONE ASKS FOR A PARDON OR SIMPLY
4. WHEN SOMEONE EXPLAINS HIMSELF
YOU EXPEL
WHEN SOMEONE TRIES TO BE ‘STUBBORN’.
i was jst seeing all these llangles by pf government i wish them short life of ruling this peaceful nation with there useless mps mwebantu how can a leader say like that its really emberancing for this nation God is seeing all these isues let him just come before we are being destroyed by satan
@OLDRugsOUt the reason is simple its because their father is ever with sharp swords in his hands watching them &what ever they (MP’s) do or plan is negative& out of fear
@ iyee u have seen him a thief today aftr O he did 4 u pf 2 be where u are today. In life NEVER FORGET WHAT MADE U TO BE WHERE U ARE.
GBM should have taken a leaf from Given Lubinda. Its simple keep zipped. even the bible says a f.o.o.l is considered wise if he keeps silent
Thats very misguided,Tyrants feed on the fearful and disarmed whose weaknesses can be exploited. Why do you think USA is scared to attack Russia but will attack Iraq?
who are the tyrants here?
Unnecessary, unwarranted bye elections!! All this because of selfish and dictatorial tendencies in the PF regime. No conscious at all of the suffering majority, PF is wasting Resources on endless bye elections. we are sick and tired of this rot and senseless misuse of paltry resources in the face of abject poverty.
we should endeavour as a people; more so those in leadership, to forster peace, reconciliation and unit. Lest put the interest of the citizenry first, before our ego and bitterness. Bitterness only hurts and destroys those who conceal it in themselves; its a destructive force, and the wise have learnt not to condone it.
Waiting for ratification from chumbu is a waste of time.Everyone except perhaps the dull and naive do not know that Chumbu himself sanctioned everything and instructed the so called top brass to expell GYM.
What ever the case may be we are siting with a less than candid head of state. Very sad.
Kwacha at Finance Bank is 5.75 to 1 dollar. The slide has started. Gravy train on Zim rail.
but you guys were saying Pf is coward; let it expel GBM’ TODAY YOU SAY IT SI UNFAIR, whats long with you? muleke bumyalu-myalu nobumbimunda imwe. you thought GBM CAN COMPETE THROWING STONES WITH THE GOVT KWISO UKO?
People do not punick there time is coming there not going to remain in powere forever, they will see what munsholomwe saw….!
GBM should just join the wiining team. There are no permanent enemies in politics. But after 2016 when the new govt with a credible and independent justice system will be prosecuting former PF leaders (as they will all scamper in all directions leaving MCS alone) for abuse of authority and corruption, the axe may fall on him (just a warning).
It’s very unfortunate that we are breaking the party with our own hands.its just some administrative problem otherwise development agenda is exellent.PF has to restructure urgently.
That is Michael Sata Mubanga Chanda for you, Nafuti you will be blindfolded and vote for him 2016
YABA AM SO SCARED THIS MAN GBM CAN CAN WIN IN KASAMA IF WE DONT CONVICT HIM BEFOR THE BY ELECTION
REASONS ABA VOTER NIBA BUS DRIVER NABA TAX DRIVER SO BOLLA NAIKOSA
CHELLA AND YOUR TEAM YOU HAVE BIG TASK TO WIN GBM
Democracy is about numbers. Expel members to your own detriment. No point trying to show your balls when they are small
Uncle Chikwanda knew what would happen if he resigned. Don’t be surprised if GBM is locked up – especially to stop him from contesting the by-election. Pathetic politics!
Tulefwaya uwakumwesu has cost you a lot.I think maybe you will use your senses when voting than you used tribal. Voting for someone from your region whether he’s a f00l or not is a bad thing,Look at someone’s wisdom & knowledge.Than you did pali Sata. VOTE FOR Hakahinde Hichilema.
Well now, let us see gmb prove himself popular as he claims he is. Do not bother with appeals or taking legal action or injuction, just prove how popular you are by de-stabilising PF or de-campaining PF and winning the upcoming bye-elections.
No good deed goes unpunished. GBM show them your mantle. Join UPND and you will be a force my brother. No one is above Zambia. We all passed through the same/similar birth canal.
come and be happy..no fear or favour..Haleisa Haleisa..2016!!
G.B.M, You are a VERY LUCKY MAN!!!
This decision may hurt, as You bankrolled & sacrificed for these “Cowboys”, when they were in opposition. They have messed up so badly, their end will be very Sad indeed, & then You will thank Your Ancestors, or lucky Stars whichever You believe.
IT Will COME To PASS!!!
The logic here is that PF was not supposed to win the elections.Had it lost, there was going to be bloodshed in the country. Now that God loves Zambia so much and that he wanted even a child to see that Sata could not make a good president like KK described him”he can make a good minister and not a President.”
It is evident that he has failed to organise the party and he will make sure that he unconsciously destroy it to the core,so that the next opposition Party will not fight hard to win The elections.
Its good to see a politician who will not curve just to gain favors. Right or wrong, we need more Zambian politicians who can stand their own ground regardless of the implications; this shows character. Proud of GBM.
PF must prepare for the fight of their lives in Kasama. “There Will Be Blood”. Mark my words!
Ba LT you should be reporting objectively, get the facts first, the write and publish. The only organ that can expel GBM is the central committee. GMB has not been expelled from PF.
