Zesco United kick off their CAF Confederation Cup outing on Sunday in search of their first win in 2014.

The Ndola club visit Ferroviario Beira seeking a morale boosting win after picking up just one draw from their last six games so far this year after recording four losses in pre-season friendlies and another in the 2014 Charity Shield semi-finals.

There is also added pressure to keep the flag flying considering Nkana are still stuttering their way through the CAF Champions League after finishing 2-2 at home against KCCA today.

A win away to Ferroviario will lift some spirits in a weekend Nkana’s future in the other competition looks very uncertain.

The match will mark George Lwandamina’s first day on the job following his appointment a week ago.

“The boys are set for the challenge, we have gone through the paces and they have looked well. It is not different from either outings it is just a matter of working as a team to inculcate that togetherness,” Lwandamina said.

Meanwhile, Zesco will host their Mozambique opponents this Saturday in the return leg at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

  1. If Zesco overcome that Zambian “inferior” complex, then they win win in Beira. Mozambicns are bakamushi, just beat the hell out-of-them.
