25 Patriotic Front (PF) youths in Choma District have graduated after undergoing a six-months training in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with a pledge to help Government in fostering national development.
The youths were sponsored by PF’s National Project for Poverty Reduction (NPPR) created in 2012 to provide various training and empowerment skills to youths.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony at the weekend, NPPR chairperson Ngosa Simbyakula said the PF was committed to empowering youths with various life training skills.
Dr Simbyakula who is also Home Affairs Minister said Government was fighting poverty through various programmes and that skills development was one of the many ways to reduce youth unemployment.
“The battle for fighting youth unemployment cannot be won by Government alone. That is why Government attaches great importance to programmes that are aimed at complementing its efforts in devising interventions that will contribute to the creation of sustainable jobs for the youths,” he said.
The PF youths in Choma were trained at St Mary’s Training Institute. So far, 80 youths in Lusaka and Central provinces have graduated while 35 in Muchinga, 50 in Northern and 35 from Luapula provinces would be graduating next month.
Dr Simbyakula said the PF would embrace initiatives designed to provide skills training programmes in line with Government’s national development agenda.
He said education was a journey of life and that the certificates the youths had acquired, should not end in themselves but are meant for economic development.
NPPR director Anthon Kasandwe said the project was created to help reduce poverty and unemployment levels among youths through skills training programmes.
He said, through NPPR many youths across the country would continue to have more money in their pockets.
St Mary Training Institute representative Joseph Bwalya commended Government for its efforts to economically uplift the welfare of youths.
Speaking on behalf of the graduating youths, Joel Kamoko commended PF through its NPPR project for training them free of charge and assured of using the acquired skills to develop the country.

what nonsense is this! How can government only train PF cadres? We all know They used Tax payers monies. The need to be audited…and why did a government minister officiate at a political party graduation? This is all preposterous!
This is a PF empowerment initiative as a political party for its cadres using PF resources and not a govt designed and funded program.
MMD used to have something like this , but I am not sure if this is still going on
Even political parties in developed democracies have such programs.
Nothing strange here and other political parties must do the same for their cadres
@Gen
sata could not even afford a bottle of water when they were campaigning, GBM had to rescue him, all of a sudden they have resources to sponsor youths(PF) for courses. these are clear indications of long fingers dipping into public funds. 1diots like you encourage and support such rubbish just because it is done by pf
Windows training has finished. Now twelve months for Microsoft Word seeing the dullness of ANYTHING PF, and then after that, 3 to 5 years for Microsoft Excel. By the way, they spent 4 months learning how to use the mouse because most insisted on lifting it, pointing to the screen and clicking. “Channel taile chinja imwe!” one was heard shouting.
Now I understand why we have the likes of Gen at el here on LT. PF has been training more of them to defend PF on line media.
We are ready and waiting for you. To be honest you are better off signing for facebook so that you can continue giving Sata all the like he wants. Here on LT we will reap apart you PF minions if you bring your stinking attitude to the debates.
@ Gen
That is great. You are getting new 25 assistants.
it is a Party programme naiwe. Why are always bitter with whatever the Party does? As UPND you do the same.
Are they not zambian citizens.
Training and paying more people to insult On blogs won’t help. Kikikikkiki. Ati the chief trainer was Aka Haleisa Halenya..kekekekeke.
Awesome ! I love it.
Sau
I think you are misusing the word awesome.use impressive at times. There is nothing impressive about the graduation of PF militia.
@Kombo…i just love using awesome. You have to understand that the vocabulary of most individuals is shaped by the environment they have ad grown up in especially during the formative years.Awesome is one of the Words i have ended up picking up in such a way and i love it.The graduation is awesome because the cadres have just been equiped With some skills. It is a very good psychological boost if you ask me and maybe…just maybe it can also make them to think twice before they throw stones or raise machetes Next time.
Gen…….
“Even political parties in developed democracies have such programs”. No, No, No, No,,,Noo. Unless of course you mean China and Sudan. Not in the West. But even in China the Communist Party is very cunning. They respect their institutions of governance unless a government wants to be impeached or the Head of State fired prematurely as was the case in the UK with the late baroness M Thatcher (MHSRIP), Mr Thabo Mbeki in South Africa, and Mr Kevin Ruud and Ms Julia Gillard.
Do not mislead people. We, their enlightened children, brothers and sisters and friends know the facts. Keep those dirty politics to yourself, and for the time being, Zambia and Africa. The West is 2,000 years ahead. They just laugh, shake their heads and move on.
@ Saulosi
Awesome indeed. Now you guys can operate 24/7. Six brainwashed “well educated” “communication experts” per shift?
@ Gen
In well established democratic society (UK, Australia, France ,,,,,), the only job you idols we get is a clowns in a provincial circus.
Is that course meant for Cadres to follow Sata on Facebook.
Information and Technology for Poverty reduction?????
They will be deployed at ZICTA as Packet Sniffers to capture our private conversations, imbwa galu izi…
This is stupidity at its Highest Level…training in what ?? Give people ‘SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT’ not ma rubbish u r doing to spend HUGE sum of money on fake PROJECTS.
They probably trained them how to use Facebook so they can like bashi Mulenga pa Facebook.
Sounds good but with “don’t kubeba”mmmh there just might be problems with votes come 2016????
nonsense..what kind of leadership is this..?
Windows training has finished. Now twelve months for Microsoft Word seeing the dullness of ANYTHING PF, and then after that, 3 to 5 years for Microsoft Excel. IT’S EASY, LET OTHER OPPOSITION PARTIES MOBILISE FUNDS AND TRAIN THEIR PEOPLE ALSO. WHAT ARE OTHER OPPOSITION PARTIES DOING FOR THEIR YOUTHS? THERE’S NOTHING WRONG FOR A PARTY TO MOBILISE RESOURCES AND EMPOWER IT’S PEOPLE. YOU KEEP TALKING YOUR FRIENDS ARE GAINING POLITICAL MILEAGE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT IT WILL BE 2016 AND ALAS! THERE’S MORE TO LIFE THAN JUST PUSHING FOR A DRAFT CONSTITUTION.
I say there is more to life than winning elections. And what about youths who do not want to identify themselves with any political parties? Do you want our population to be divided into political camps?? By all means God forbid. Let Psalm 91 cover this country and its people.
Surely PF govt has issues with prioritizing and planning. Why train cadres at the expense of improving the lives of the many youths lining up our streets without hope? PF govt, you are not only there to serve the cadres and perceived supporters of the party. Recall a lot of people do not even vote, this includes under age, but you must surely provide basic needs like training in life skills without discriminating as is the case above. Even the number distribution by region is questionable; as how did you arrive at the numbers? Muchinga and Northern technically speaking are one, really you are dochi kubeba people.
What other skill have they gained? Wielding of pangas and fists?
Why not just empower all the youths in general so they can learn how to fish for their famillies? What about the other cadres from other political parties and just those youths who dont have to be cadres? Anyway ……. congratulations to the chosen ones, hope you will use your new trade to help better the nation and others next to you positively!
Ubupuba, why didn’t you train them in farming skills? At least they can do something for themselves.
A party in government doing this? Who will take care of other youths who are not party cadres of PF? Uuuummm. This smells like the rotten rat of the late 1980s.
In 2016 we shall use electronic voting system. So its time to start trainig cadres in ICT! heheheheh! Wapya baisa if you have no money for training
Party cadres doing ICT!!!!!!!! This is a taboo. I expect party cadres to be digging and shoveling. Is this the end of the beginning or beginning of the end
Hahahaha! PF is just creating problems for itself. These children have not obtained qualifications to work as ICT professionals. They have received basic computer appreciation training for using computers. They will now expect jobs in ICT and they wont get them. They will then be frustrated and PF will have to deal with these unemployed youths. If they attempt to push them into Indeco, then more problems for our economy. They will not add the expected value.
THE PRESIDENTSHOULD DISCIPLINE DC FOR SIAVONGA WHO IS IMMATURE AND CAUSING CONFUSIONS IN SOUTHERN PROVINCE.ACT BEFORE PF IS KILLED.
Hh is said to be rich, why can’t he emulate his friends and at least pay back some of it in that way.
Which friends should HH emulate? What do you mean by “at least pay back some of it in that way”? Honestly what you are trying to say is not clear. How does HH come in the picture in this purely PF matter? Your hatred for HH is amazing.
Lt, dont missinform the pipo, i watched the graduation and those who graduated were smart and nt the cadres in ur picture and they are nt pf bt youths(mmd, upnd, pf, fdd..). Lt, dont copy frm watchdog make ur own before u become vry useless.
I was just wondering whether what i watched is something else! Those who graduated were too smart bwana cant be PF cadres only. By the way why putting that picture and not the real one?
Congratulation for graduating with flying colours all of you guys, you have done as proud as your sympathizers and the sky is not the limit for you.
