PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Secretary General Wynter Kabimba has attributed the on-going wrangles in the MMD to its leader Nevers Mumba whom he said hijacked the former ruling party.
Mr Kabimba said Dr Mumba took over the MMD after it lost power but that instead of uniting the party, he has now pushed it to near extinction.
On Tuesday, the two MMD vice-presidents Michael Kaingu and Brian Chituwo together with party spokesperson Dora Siliya and Solwezi Central MP Lucky Mulusa held a press briefing where they bemoaned that the party was dying a slow painful death and called for a convention.
“What those people are complaining about is the lack of leadership in the party and they have reason to do so. Where did Dr Mumba come from? Where was he when they were fighting battles for the party?” Mr Kabimba asked.
Mr Kabimba, who is also Justice Minister, said it was inconceivable that Dr Mumba could turn around and accuse State House of destabilising his party when the general membership was complaining about his style of leadership.
He said the former ruling party had found itself in the current malaise because Dr Mumba hijacked the party and that the MMD should sort out their problems without dragging other people into it.
I think Kabimba overrates himself. He thinks he such a political genius that people can’t see what really going on. Zambians open your eyes our country is slowly going back to single party rule.
I think Mr Kabimba is right.

For your own information,Sata recalled Dr Mumba from Canada because he refused to join PF.It even became worse when he won the MMD presidency.So the persecution Dr Mumba has been passing through are just made up by Sata,due to the fear of unknown.Pipo just talk on Mumba without information.Anyway,God fights Dr Mumba’s battles.

MMD created this problem, when it chose a charlatan as the party leader. This party once constituted a formidable forum of civilized citizens and intellectuals. That image is slowly on the wane. Mumba has truly hijacked it.

Mumba has a track record of failure in politics, I wonder how people expected him to succeed in MMD? This guy has the Midas touch, everything he touches turn to ashes! Most of the bloggers are commenting as if they are suffering from amnesia, Mumba dragged PF in his problems not vice versa!
It looks like the Computer training the PF cadres went for is working, it seems they are voting down every criticism and voting for non logical arguments.
There is very good reason for Mr. Kabimba “philanthropic” interest in MMD.
After failing to bust Parliamentary representation to the required 2/3 in order to amend Constitution by creating costly and unnecessary by-elections and after failing to dispose of threat of HH, the only opening is to outs current MMD leadership by the means of leadership election and pray that “reasonable”and “co-operative” new MMD leadership will emerge headed by somebody like Hon. Mutati (?) which will pave way to 2/3 and subsequent amendment of current Constitution to suit needs of Comrade Kabimba.
In the article “MMD NEC calls for Elections” a few days ago, I gave a presumed scenario. With the PF Nominated MP speaking out on an internal issue of another party, are there still pipo doubting whos behind Mumba’s woes as MMD leader?

For once I totally agree with the Honarable kabimba. yES WHERE DID nEVERS COME FROM? I was one of the fighters for democracy to usher in the MMD, he was heading his own party National Coalition or something like that. He has let the party down and has no motivation what so ever, Yes he was elected, but to me it was an over sight by the people that put him there. Let the mistake be rectified and put someone who has a heart for the party there.
Kabimba is right.The poitical history of Nevers speaks volumes.Nevers abandoned his flock for politics and he also failed lamentably to run his own katemba party and it colapsed!!When Mwanawasa appointed him Vice President he started undermining him.Never seems to have been cursed by God for having abandoned the church and go into politics.He is a hypocret ,power hungry and very selfish!!No true leader uses “I,I,I ” everytime he is speaking.This shows that the man is selfish and has taken the MMD like a piece of furniture in his house.The MMD must blame themselves to allowing this political failure to lead them!!
