Bemba royal establishment vows to defend by Sosala as the new Paramount Chief Chitimukulu

The Bemba Royal Establishment (BRE) says it considers Henry Kanyanta Sosala as the duly elected Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba speaking people even without government recognition.

BRE Spokesperson Washanga Mpika Shapalubemba has told QFM News in a telephone interview that the Bemba speaking people will continue to honor and respect Sosala because he was chosen following the right procedure.

Washanga states that Bashilubemba will never allow another person to be Paramount Chief Chitimukulu other than Henry Kanyanta Sosala.

Washanga, who could not hide his emotions, states that President Michael Sata should simply allow the BRE to install their chief without interference in any way.

He adds that Bembas from Kasama will not allow and accept an imposed chief because they have their own tradition ways of choosing their traditional leader.

He laments that operations in Chitimukulu chiefdom have been paralyzed following the interference from government in straight forward matters.

  1. We are all behind you and Sosala. That royal seat belongs to Bembas not Bisas. This is just preposterous. It’s so demeaning for a president to be embroiled in traditional affairs when there are more pressing matters of state. This is abdicating his basic responsibility. Zambia deserves a more mature leadership than what we are currently enduring.

    • @1 Wantanshi and the like – don’t mislead people. No Bisa has been or will ever be appointed as Chitimukulu. If you are referring to Chief Chewe Kamponge, he is a Bemba from Ichinga (Chinsali) and he has not been appointed as Chitimukulu. Chief Chewe himself has said that Sata cannot appoint a Chitimukulu – Sata may have a preference but that is not the same as appointing. Don’t be deceived by ZWD who has an agenda. The appointment of Chitimukulu has from time to time caused differences among Abena Ng’andu – even fights and murders! The only difference this time is Sata’s involvement for possible political reasons.

    • …continue dreaming about Sosala, after all, he is not only a nonentity on the zambian economic and political circle but a good riddance as far as the Pamaka is concerned. Please take note that he is only a factor in Bemba land; for how long are you going to worship Satire when Zambians are busy pleading for the government to correct US-dollar and Kwacha problem, inflation, escalating melie meal prices, debt burden, hate, abject poverty coupled with confusion and uncertainty, the most critical draft CONSTITUTION, poor education standards necessitated by poor infrastructure and poor teacher attitudes. …many problems as the list is endless. Stop baby cry on Sosala, let the government work peacefully.

    • @Mutale Chikwanda
I would like to point out that it is not the ZWD that are behind the claim that Sata wants to appoint his favoured Chief in this matter. In fact, if it was simply a case of Sata having a “favourite” and not trying to “IMPOSE”, then I do not think we would be in this stand off today. He would have seen the light of day by now because Bashilubemba (rightful people) have done what they need to do and have come to conclude that Sosala is the rightful person. My understanding is that we are here because Sata has REFUSED to acknowldge Henry Sosala has Chitimukulu and wants to “IMPOSE” his preferred Chief (Not candidate because there no candidates here). I read an article in an international publication suggesting that Sata “has actually” imposed a chief against…

    • @1.3 It’s a worry – I don’t know if you have been reading ZWD in this regard. They have time and time claimed that Sata wants to impose a Bisa as Chitimukulu. They have also time and time mentioned Bob Luo ( Nkandu Luo’s brother – a Bisa) as Sata’s choice. Call it wanting to IMPOSE but Sata does not want to ‘impose’ a Bisa as Chitimukulu and that is the issue I have with ZWD and @1 Wantanshi.

    • @Mutale Chikwanda

Tell Mr.Sata, that he needs to stick to managing the country, the position for which he was appointed by the Zambian people, who are desperate to see development in a hurry. But it seems the president has forgotten that mandate and wants now to demonstrate that he has got power and can do with it as he pleases. And he has targeted a humble, non-violent and down to earth people, at the expense of governing the nation. Tell me, what is he trying to achieve?

    • @1.6 Wantanshi, don’t assume that I am Mr. Sata’s supporter. Like you, I would like him to govern the country properly and peacefully. Also, as a Bemba from Nkole Mfumu, I am on Mwine Lubemba Chitimukulu Kanyanta Manga II’s side and I am not happy with the tension and fear that has been created in my home town by the presence of security forces. Having said that it does not mean I should agree with every lie being peddled regarding the stand off.

    • Never heard of a man that’s challenged a Chief later on MwineLubemba and remained sane. Never

Just shows the Presidents mental state, and goes to show whether he needs to be in state house or Chainama.

  2. Sata will die one day soon, so what does he think he will have achieved by this move? Your time is over sir. Concentrate on your inner life and God.

    • Even when Sata thinks he cannot recognise our Mwine Lubemba, we will wait for 2016 for Given Lubinda to come and recognise him.

  3. The symptoms of mental illness are clearly visible. The problem is that our threshold of ‘mental illness’ is when someone stops taking baths, walks half naked and dances to no music in the streets…. or something along those lines. Then we say ah! that person is not normal. We forget that one can take baths, walk fully dressed, and even con voters and take the highest office in the land, call everybody useless, and still be mentally ill. This is the case with out President. So, the real problem is the way we choose the cut-off point for madness. As a result, instead of debating progressive issues with our Chiefs and their subjects, like internet broadband in villages, etc… we are now reduced to a level of one madman with a suit on.

    • Cant agree more. Only a MAD person would want to go a challenge Mwine Lubemba or any of the Chiefs in this Land.

One doesn’t do that and remain sane, it’s never happened and Sata is not exception.

  4. @1 Wantanshi and the like – don’t mislead people. No Bisa has been or will ever be appointed as Chitimukulu. 5. Why don’t these bemba chiefs go to state house and confront their adversary instead of issuing the same monotonous statements?

    • Going to state house for what. BashiLubemba together with the Mwine Lubemba are based in the Northern Province and have no business whatsoever at state house.

It’s Sata that will get burnt.

  6. Lekeni Uyu chitmukulu ateke. E mwine Lubebmba. Mankangala munshifukatilwa. Chitwemambo. Kanabesa mulopwe. We wanyele amafi ukushinguluka ulubemba pakuti abangoni be poko mushi. Ni mulopwe unyela pakapendo ne nchende yashalako. Taa! Mulopwe nakalebalika.

  7. Who is this was hang amounting? Which shilubemba does he represent? there has never been a washanga among the shilubembas we know. He should a relative to Sosala and not a shilubemba.

  8. BASHILUBEMBA BUKENI BALITWIKATA KUMUTWE WE ARE SO MANY WE CAN DONATE MONEY TO OUR BELOVED CHIEF . SATA IS CHUMBU MUNSHOLOLWA HE HAS NO RESPECT FOR OUR CHIEFS . HE ONLY RESPECTS KAUNDA HIS FELLOW DICTATOR . ALA UMULU WAYANGWISHE IKUBI . LET AS GO FORWARD , SLOW BUT SURE . IFWE TILI BUKALA BWAMBWA UBWINGILA BUCHE BUCHE .PF NILINGA AKANI MWIKUFI
