Sata’s divide and rule: Who is the biggest loser?

Share

By Clementino Chibashe M. Mulenga

I write as a founder member of the Patriotic Front (PF) and now washed my hands because my brother President Michael Chilufya Sata does not listen. When we fought for Independence, it was not to have the Zambia he wants to create today. We fought Welensky and his brothers so that Zambians can be free.

Today, PF has dug its own grave. The master grave digger is President Michael Sata himself. Thanks to him, atleast he can be assured that PF will not outlive his lifespan. For starters, Zambia is not a Kingdom and Mulenga Sata will never become President of Zambia.

After President Sata’s Presidency, Mulenga will spend most of his time looking for lawyers to defend him from prosecution and unfortunately, this is the scenario Sata has allowed his son to be found in.

Away from his bad governance record, which some of us who campaigned with him countrywide regret, he has decided to fight the Bemba-speaking people directly on the Chitimukulu issue because he seeks to divide and rule us.

The happenings in Kasama Central are all aimed at ensuring former Defence Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) does not emerge politically to assume the leadership of PF and possibly the nation. Whether GBM is Presidential material or not, Sata’s persecution of his former Defence Minister and financier has made GBM into a leader Zambians never thought he was. GBM’s approval ratings have gone higher than ever before- all thanks to one Michael Sata.

The problem with our brother Sata is that he thinks he knows it all. He has decided to plant more confusion in the Bembaland by sponsoring a crook, who is using Chinese money to flash out gifts to Kasama Central residents.

We have told our youths to do a ‘Don’t Kubeba’ on Kelvin Sampa. Whatever money or gifts he brings to Kasama central, we have told them to get them. We will teach him a lesson, together with my brother Sata when the day of reckoning comes. People in Kasama Central know GBM but who is Kelvin Sampa?

Kasama residents have read about Kelvin Sampa and we are wondering if this is the same Kelvin Sampa who duped former Firstlady Maureen Mwanawasa of her properties after trusting him with some of their deals? Is this the same young man who has betrayed and turned against former President Rupiah Banda and turning around to become a State witness? Is this the same Kelvin Sampa who ran an expensive advert on Zambia National Broadcasting in support of Rupiah Banda?

We are worried with our brother Sata’s judgment on this issue that he can trust such a crook? If my brother Sata thinks he will buy off Bembas with donations through Kelvin Sampa and the lies on his facebook page, here in Kasama, we will give him a taste of his medicine. We are Bembas and he will not buy us with gifts and empty promises. We made him President, gave him a base and he has turned around to spit into our face. We are watching the space!

In the past few days, he has sent OP officers to come here and assess if at all Kelvin Sampa has made any impact. I want to challenge my brother Sata to publicly announce that he does not need GBM in PF and we will advise our son to withdraw the action in court.

We advised GBM to challenge plans to expel him but maybe we were wrong. We are consulting with the churches and other stakeholders whether or not we should advise him to take a different cause of action, so that we bring this matter to its resting place.

We will teach PF a lesson because presently, the party is more divided than ever before. There is the GBM Camp, which is the biggest, then there are those who are neutral or supporting some unknown individual and those who are eating with Sampa. It is not surprising that Sata has seen GBM’s potential challenger in Sampa. Sampa’s donations in Kasama Central are not new to Sata’s ears. They have his blessings as he implements his divide and rule politics here in Kasama Central.

Sata is employing the divide and rule strategy in Kasama Central to weaken GBM’s grip and pave way for Mulenga Sata’s ascendancy to the PF Presidency. This is because he realizes that GBM’s stay within PF is not good for his anointed successor- Mulenga Sata. One does not need to be a rocket scientist to see that not even Wynter Kabimba is in Sata’s plan- he has been duped! Sata is implementing the divide and rule tactics in Kasama Central using pawns like Sampa, not because he thinks Sampa is any match against GBM. In Sata’s game plan, he would want to keep Kasama Central as unstable as possible and for some time to come.

All of a sudden, Sata’s facebook page is promising development to Kasama Central. He will maintain this confusion until the electorate in Kasama Central are fatigued. He will bribe politically pivotal groups and individuals such as Sampa and other PF blind followers off the equilibrium path against the Chitimukulu issue here in Kasama and the Bembaland in general. His goal is to ensure that he exploits fragility of social cooperation among the Bemba-speaking people.

The biggest question is who will be the biggest loser in Sata’s divide and rule game: your guess is as good as mine- Michael Chilufya Sata and PF!

    • There we go! Even his very own people have realised that Sata and PF are headed for destruction all because of him.
      Can’t say more.

    • Zambian politicians never learn from others. History keeps repeating itself.
I really don’t know how these guys feel when they are at plot 1. I think the power and the warmth they experience whilst still there must be so heavenly that they become detached from reality such that they feel they will live forever in that state. Only when they are thrown out do they now come to reality. We are watching.
The writer is so right. Mulenga Sata will spend most of his time going to court whilst his father will be somewhere in hell.

    • “We are Bembas. …we made him President, gave him a base”…..that’s a tribal party, evidence just there. If It is was UPND what would Gen, Soulosi, ka Cindy and all those Bemba bums say? Calling and accusing other people for things you are guilty of is making God angry as evident with the current happen ing in Zambia

    • @ Manning,
Firstly are you going to crucify me for the sins of my Father and will I always be considered an outsider there of? Kindly anwser please!

    • from me ndobo no comment on Mr Clementino Mulenga`s article on bemba kingdom,,,,,, currently am busy studying the case of Royal kingdom of baroste

  1. At first glance, this looks like a substantial analysis but then turns out to be a personal reckoning in complicated regional politics.

There’s no real answer to the author’s question. Nothing lasts forever, not even political power players.

    • @9chale,
In as much as I would like to distance myself from stipulating how personal the writer may be, I agree with you, more so because the Tittle does not match the contents of the Article.
She, howeve,r has touched on a sensitive topic that need urgent attention in the sphere of Zambian politics. Zambians in all circles of life have to be educated from the grass root of the political essence and the agenda, as it is it the life line of every Zambian which has been proved by todays current affairs!
I dont agree with the writer that Bembas put the president in office, that is wish-wash belief? Zambians went to the polls and elected the president, which therefore can be proven by research!

  2. Zambia is a reflection of the majority of its people. If bembas were as smart as they claim to be, the country would have been much more developed than it is now. They have the power they so much cried for and see the end result. Very disappointed. And Sata is their best and smarted Bemba they have. We are so trying my Tonga cousin next time.

    • If u want law and order in Zambia chose a southerner , northwestern ,or Centrl province president. Bemba,s and Lozi are devisive. Bembas feel entitled and Lozis think they are royal.
The last time we tried a neutral tribe we did quite well (Mwanawasa ). If we got another one of the neutral tribes we could do much better because they will have no tribal hangups and will rely on performance to succeed.

  3. This Easter, lets pray for the confused Chief shinde of Zambezi who has been advocating for war ever since he came to power. He is forcing us Lundas to pay k200 each for his selfish motives and yet us lundas and luvales are relatives. He is the cause of problems in zambezi.president Sata should help NWP by dethroning this chap who is a useless chief. The degree he got as a mature is not helping him either….he is a savage.

    • If you have issues with A Mwanta Ishindi, they are ways of you communicating your concerns to him and the Lunda royalty. Washing dirty linen in public creates more problem than it solves. It is wrong to apportion this blame on the chief as this issue has been there long before he became chief. I agree with you on one thing, we are the same people, same bloodline and carry the same heritage. We can find it among ourselves to resolve any issues just like families do.

    • I do not think anyone can reason with chief Inshindi. I am a neutral person, but having observed for some time now (14 years), I have come to a conclusion that the Lunda chief is a bully and selfish leader.

His behavior could have been more useful 100 years ago when tribal wars were part of the DNA for most Africans.

  4. Thats a good suggestion. He wants to take advantage of the language issue which is well settled. Both lundas and luvales are happy.Chief Ishindi is a crook who wants to swindle people by pretending that he wants to go to court. Are they his children whom he wants to force which language they should learn ? Why is it paining him when the ultimate beneficiary for the language policy is the learner and not a tribe ? President Sata fire the man and restore order in Zambezi.

  5. Electing Sata into power was the greatest blunder Zambians made. His actions and characteristics clearly showed he was mentally unbalanced, yet he was elected, democratically. We were warned by Chanda Chimba 3 but we were all determined that come what may, Sata, regardless of his evidently deranged utterances, was the man for the job. There’s something wrong with the Zambian voter.

  6. WELCOME TO ZAMBIA.Sata is like SCAR in LION KING.You Zambians kill Mofasa and expect to be well.RB’s tears will always haunt us.

  7. Some of the issues in this article are factual and very soon SATA, MMEMBE, and KABIMBA will learn a lesson. I am Bemba myself and I am not tribal at all. However, I find this article leaning very much onto tribal or regional politics. I have serious problems with tribal politics, I just can’t stand people who are ethnocentric. We need to promote people with sense of inclusiveness, and not divisiveness. We need to be beyond politics of tribe or region. Despite Sata’s myopic thinking and ideas, I find this article unbalanced, purely because the author only talks about Bembas and forgets that Bembas are just a part of Zambian community with over 70 tribes. BAD POLITICKING………………………. If you are tribal, you will never get my vote, mwe mbwa mwe……….

  8. This so called chief/thief shinde can be likened to King Nebukanezar in the bible. He has tormented many souls and one day he will surely cry no matter how long it takes.I am a Tonga a tribal cousin to Lundas and Luvales….actually i want to write a book about the horrible experiences i had witnessed for the 8 years i stayed in Zambezi.A tribunal should be set up to investigate this man for the abuses he has committed.Even his own brothers chiefs in Mwinilunga and all chiefs in NWP dont like him.President Sata should get data thru OoP and just dethrone him or else he will cause an ethnic war one day.He is a ruthless despot not worth being called a leader in this modern era and even getting a salary from government.

  9. Hatobo is very correct. This chief is always talking about violence/bloodshed and Sata is capable of disciplining him.If he did that, the people of NWP will for ever remember him for restoring sanity.Mwanawasa wanted to put up a cultural village in zambezi as a way of promoting tourism and money was given. This Joirick shinde caused confusions and this developmental project failed to take root. For him that was going to favour Luvales. Now what kind of a leader is this guy ? The answer is just to have him degazetted.period ! Now he wants to mess up with school children who are innocent souls.

  10. Lamfras talked about house of chiefs ! We tried in the past but the guy is just incorrigible. He has no respect for any body.In NWP we just want the President to act on him.He has been wanting to kill his own sister Nyakulenga over Sarah Saifwanda his former girl friend.Tody they are enermies.

  11. @ senior chief
I just don’t know how close you are with the whole issue. otherwise write the president cause if people cry, sanity ought to be restored

  12. Some people use too many words. In the end they lose credibility because you are fighting to find what they are trying to say. KISS – Keep It Simple Stupid.
