Nkana advanced to the group stage of the 2014 CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday after forcing a 1-1 away draw at Tunisian side CA Bizertin in the resort town of Bizerte.
Defender Derrick Mwansa equalised through a late penalty to help Nkana escape the 15 October Stadium with a draw.
Mwansa beat keeper Ben Mustapha with a powerful kick after Slimane handled inside the box following pressure from Ronald Kampamba.
Bizertin went into the break with a 1-0 lead via a Khadheri Medi 21st header.
Medi pounced on a corner taken by Zaiem Kamel to beat advancing keeper Rabson Mucheleng’anga.
Two minute into the second half Mucheleng’anga kept Nkana into the match when he saved Kamel’s penalty.
Algerian referee Mohamed Benouza pointed to the spot after Mucheleng’anga allegedly fouled Kchok Slimane in the box.
It was an action packed match in which both teams created a litany of chances.
