Cape Verde have been ranked higher on the latest FIFA rankings than their top seeded 2015 Africa Cup Group F qualifier opponents Zambia.
The Atlantic Ocean archipelago nation, who made their Africa Cup debut in 2013 where they reached the quarterfinals, are at 42nd in the World while Zambia are at 79.
Furthermore while Cape Verde have not moved at 42nd and fourth in Africa, Zambia has tumbled five places down the FIFA rankings from 74 to 79.
Zambia’s fall also sees them drop from 16th in Africa to 17th.
Chipolopolo will visit Cape Verde for the two sides first meeting on September 10 on match-day-two on the road to Morocco.
Meanwhile, the other Group F opponent Niger are at 102 in the World and 28th in Africa.
What did you expect to be paid without work? Cape Verde worked hard for that position and everyone saw it.
What do you expect when you have empty suits in FAZ running the show and you have a PE teacher’s assistant as head coach!!
Out of 13millions – Zambia has failed to find 23 good players to represent the nation. Cape Verde has only 0.5Million and have 40 good players. Zambia is rubbish
How many time has cape verdes reached the finals and let alone won it? We were rated 71 by FIFA in 2012 and went to win the cup.
Look at their friendlies and tournament matches played in the last 2 years…then read the rules on the FIFA website. ..dont expose your ignorance.
when you say Zambia is rubbish, don’t you know that you are calling yourself rubbish unless you are not Zambian?
So when I say the Zambian FA is utterly corrupt do I mean I’m corrupt as well?
KCI, you are very right….very objective. Let us wait and see.
Wake up and look at their stats on the ranking table!!
Bola ni mu cibansa. Its not through the use FIFA numbers.
Cape Verde matches will be tough no doubt and Zambia need to prepare well hopefully more international friendlies apart from the pending Japan game. The truth about the Blue Sharks is that they are a strong physical side. Actually they reminded me of Cameroon at the last Africa cup and i was not surprised to see them win their world cup qualifier group beating Tunisia home and away only to be disqualified by the usual FIFA dodgy rules. Don’t forget this is the team which knocked out Cameroon on their to way to the Africa cup finals in South Africa. So we are in for a dog fight and not forgetting the other party spoilers Niger the conquerors of Egypt in the run up to South Africa finals and one of these pain in the bum…Malawi, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Good luck to all
Your Great Kalu doesn’t believe in friendlies and FIFA ranking table. ..it’s too complex for him and his corrupt associates.
The OUTSIDER i like your analysis, this is what we call constructive criticism keep it up
We needed a seasoned coach, PB cant handle our national team, this is a joke guys. What i know about Zambia is that the team you are fearing will be outplayed only to lose to non entities, so dont worry so much about CApe VErde…

dead mouth
I think that they have worked really hard to achieve so much in so less time and they have some good players in the team who are moving them faster in the rankings.
