Assembly coach blame ref for loss at Zesco

Share

National Assembly coach George Kapembwa says Kabwe referee Wisdom Chewe is to blame for the 2-1 defeat his team suffered at Zesco United in Ndola on Sunday.

Chewe sent off Kapembwa before showing Assembly captain Morgan Kanjolo a red-card as Zesco ended the Parliamentarians’ seven-game unbeaten run in the 2014 FAZ Super League.

He said Assembly did not deserve to lose to Zesco in this Week 8 tie at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

“This game was sold. It was cooked before it was played, you could see how many yellow cards did my players receive? I thought we could have had a penalty in the first half,” Kapembwa alleged.

“We didn’t lose to a good team, they (Zesco) are no where near what we are doing. I strongly believe this match was cooked.”

He added:”There were a lot of decisions that he (ref) made against us.”

Zesco joined Power Dynamos at the top after the win thanks to goals from Jackson Mwanza and Lazarous Kambole.

“It was a tough game,” Zesco coach George Lwandamina said.

  1. The coach of national assembly should learn to accept defeat because its from the defeat where you plan the next win.blaming the the referee is just a scapegoat by all coaches. If fact, assembly should have lost by 4 0 thanks to zesco united players who missed the clear chances.

  2. Coach, just swallow your pride.i watched the match on tele and you just lost. You are a good side though.Keep on working hard.
