Zesco United eased past Konkola Blades with a 3-0 win in the FAZ Super League Week 10 match at Trade Fair Grounds in Ndola on Sunday.
Goals from Mathews Nkhowani, Jackson Mwanza and Lazarous Kambole were enough to help Zesco recover from last weekend’s 3-1 loss at Green Eagles.
Nkhowani beat keeper Elliot Phiri with a low shot to hand Zesco a 29th minute lead before striker Jackson Mwanza doubled the lead from a Cletous Chama pass inside the box two minutes later.
Kambole sealed the win with a 70th minute solo effort goal after beating a cluster of Konkola defenders.
It was a well deserved victory for Zesco who dominated play in both halves.
Zesco could have scored more than three goals as Kangwa Chileshe and Zimiseleni Moyo saw their shots on target stopped by Phiri in the 8th and 22 minutes respectively.
Meanwhile, Zesco and Konkola players wore black arm bands and observed a minute of silence in honour of Nkana coach Masauso Mwale who died in a road traffic accident on Friday.
