Mighty celebrate Barclays Cup qualification

Mufulira Wanderers coach Manfred Chabinga says his team’s qualification for the 2014 Barclays Cup is a great achievement.

Mighty will participate in this year’s Barclays Cup after finishing top of the FAZ Division One North table half way into the 2014 season.

On Sunday, Wanderers maintained a three point lead at the top of the table and increased their tally to 32 points after a goalless draw at Ndola United in a Week 17 match played at Musa Kasonka Stadium.

In an interview from Mufulira on Monday, Chabinga hailed the legendary cup fighters for earning a place in the Barclays Cup.

“It’s a great achievment. The team has worked very hard since we started the season,” he said.

“It was impressive even the way the boyss played yesterday agaist Ndola United. The boys must keep it up,”Chabinga added.

He revealed that Mighty wants to reach the Barclays Cup final.

“We want to reach the final but our main objective is to win promotion to the Super League.”
