As Zambia celebrates jubilee this year, there is no doubt that this beautiful southern african country is at the crossroads.
As far as I can possibly envision or imagine, Zambia is not in a particular crisis. But, it is safe to say we have reached a major crossroad.
Accumulative reports indicate that our president is unwell, state house has since denied as baseless all these reports going round.
However, if these reports are true, we need to prepare for eventualities. In other words, who will take over if president Sata would step down or cease to be president today?
[pullquote]Zambians are now tired of lip service[/pullquote]
The list of those in waiting for plot one is too long to be printed out. Nevertheless, our prayer is, just as we see in the words of scripture Psalm 23…..we have Jehovah Roi, the God who sees(watches), we pray that HE intervenes to give us that suitable next leader.
There is too much clutter to think a sober leader will emerge out of. It is our prayer that the anointed one for Zambia’s leadership shall not be man’s expected, but one picked by God himself as in the story of David when Jehovah Roi selected from a handful of Jesse’s sons.
The call is rightly so upon the church, the bride and pride of Christ, to arise in the power of prayer asking God to provide what is best for Zambia.
Zambia deserves better only because God loves his people more than anything. We need a strong leader to help Zambia rise to a position of leadership in the region. However, before we think region, let’s think Zambia.
May God grand us a proven leader who has served faithfully in the community. A leader who has a past record of integrity and willingness to embrace all shades of Zambians and mostly the vulnerable and weak.
Zambia deserves a leader devoted to serve her people with a heart to uplift the plight of many.
Suffice to say that the drama has just began. The drama for the fight for state house. The list is filled with looters, plunderers, opportunists, chancers and imposters. But in the midst of such a twisted environment, there must be that one, committed to lead this nation to harmony and prosperity.
Truly Zambians are now tired of lip service. We are worn out by leaders who have settled and agreed to all forms of corruption as a way of life, those whose roots are deeply embedded in bribery and nepotism.
We say no to any leader who turns a blind eye to misuse of government position and office. Those who encourage money laundering and promote bribery and extortion.
Such leaders should know that their days are numbered. We want leaders who will uphold the rule of law and do away with all forms of repression towards all opponents as well as bring an end to police brutality.
With that said, I have come to my full realization that Zambians are not stupid. We now know what we are capable of and what we want. The days of empty promises are long gone. The days of holding on the fake promissory notes are done with.
As we examine the list of our next potential presidential candidates regardless of political affiliation, let’s run them through the litmus test. How effective have they been in their community before they aspire for the highest office in the land?

The type of leaders we have been choosing reflects on the type of people we are. The leaders are from our communities and reflect the communities way of thinking. We are corrupt, poor financial managers,do not think about consequences our actions will have on future generations,we live for our selves and immediate families…etc Unless Zambians change their way of thinking we shall continue voting in people like Sata. The good news is finally Zambians are waking up. I hope its not just the online community thats waking up but people all over Zambia.
This is accurate.
Premature article when the leader shall clearly be Mr Sata at least until 2021
These articles are fueling profanity by the least noble people that will try and ignorantly adopt HH.
Please give up this drivel I am not impressed
Thanks
@ mushota, who the **** do you think you are to tell us to give up the drive. Just look for more black clothes, coz you will need them sooner than later and for a long time to come.
My dear Mushota where is George Chella and his mouth? He sounds gone underground. He would have told the nation if the president was at least fine but now it sounds he is in trouble job is about to collapse and want to switchh off to anothercareerr.
Pezzy
To me HH ticks all the boxes. He is haevily in community activities using his personal wealth not money donated from abroad. How many such people can sacrifice their wealth for a good cause in Zambia at the moment. Not even the president -KING CABBAG can match HH . Out of selfishness he increased his pay 4 fold while duping the rest of the civil servants.
HH is the man to rule Zambia and restore it to its past glory. Most of us see a good humble and dedicated president in HH. This is the man who wont increase his pay before putting the economy back on its right path.
I can guarantee you all doubting Thomases that when HH takes over, rule of law, fair justice, real terms economic growth, jobs growth, fair share of the nations ‘ cake and the Kwacha will be restored…
Be rest assured,God is in control and will give us a Leader after His Own Heart. One thing am sure of God will give us a Jubilee President who genuinely Fears God.The Zambian Presidency Seat will be occupoied a Godly person.Any un Godly person who occupies that seat shall be thrown away. The Presidency Seat is like spinning round, and any non-God fearing person shall be thrown away or even die b4 finishing the 5 year-Term.
@WanZelu-Don’t decieve yo self,as long as your HH is a human being born from a woman, you can not predict human behaviour. What did your HH do to the suffering masses of Luanshya when he amassed wealth from RAMCOZ.Pliz don’t don’t be the hyponotized cadre by Hyponotizer Hypocrity(HH).It seems you’re one of the many hyponotized Un Paid nationa Debts(UPND) and UP National Demons(UPND) Cadres.
Dear Pezzy,
You article is not bad and not very good at the same time. I quote you in one sentence “May God grand us a proven leader who has served faithfully in the community. A leader who has a past record of integrity and willingness to embrace all shades of Zambians and mostly the vulnerable and weak.” so you are exempting HH right?
China shocked and choked at the same time…
China, in your simple mind if you conclude that HH does not qualify then u don’t vote for him. That’s what Pezzy has written, in simple standard four English.
The Next leader is HH.
Do you copy??
READ ERROR! COULD NOT COPY FILE…
My prayer is for our great not not have a leader such as HH who are more naturally inclined to regional and tribal politics. Otherwise, Zambia would end up in tribal massaucre like Rwanda. God will never ever give us a leader like HH but someone else after Sata.
try mi . . Kadansa for HE
Kadansa,it is me who should be tried,I will do wonders for my people. Chatsha
My prayer is for our great nation not not have a leader such as HH who are more naturally inclined to regional and tribal politics. Otherwise, Zambia would end up in tribal massaucre like Rwanda. God will never ever give us a leader like HH but someone else after Sata.
Chankalle, the reason why you don’t want or vote for HH in your province simply shows how tribal you are.
Indeed we do need fresh good leaders who will develop the country in the 21st century…but we should be the ones to pick our leaders not God. The problem with Zambian Politics is that we leave everything to God in as far as picking the president is concerned. Hence when things go wrong we find it very difficult to question or interrogate these people…….because of the fear that the dear leader is Gods anointed. As a nation we produce a chiluba who masquerades as a child of God whilst plundering the nations resources. The author does have some good points but my take is that we the young generation should take over from the expired politicians with expired ideas whether we be God fearing or not
@Lusaka boy-Don’t pliz underate God in the choice of Leadership.maybe because you are a boy, I 4give you.A nation without God is a dead nation.FTJ might have disappointed you,but we still need God to give us a Leader.I also pray for your salvation.Looking at your reasoning you sound like a Free Manson.
I dont like articles whose authors want to pretend to be neutral when they are not. Pezzy is hiding all his feelings in trying to sound religious. some of us have already made up our minds. Unless something happens to him that may not make him stand, I’m for HH. Pezzy may try to twist his language to sound non partisan but clearly he is partisan. He is trying to influence some of us to start seeing some candidates in the eyes of the POST. Sorry this strategy wont work. You need a better one. The fact that Southern Province voted for UPND does not make their leader nepotistic. If that be the case then everyone is because they all won in their home Areas. Sir, Write a better article than this. Otherwise it is good for debate. Thanks.
our only help and hope is HH. The mudslinging that he is tribal has no basis. we however have the precedent and confirmation by PF itself that PF is a tribal party. Only UPND has a leadership structure that is representative of the one Zambia one nation philosophy. Its time to put a leader who runs his house well, educated and cultured. Someone we can be proud to call President because of his personal accomplishments.
Very timely! Very important issues that are to be tested against these men and women and their parties are:
Do they have a timeline for implementing a people driven constitution?
What are they going to do with the public order act?
What are they going to do with the free info bill?
How are they going to ensure the independence of the judiciary and legislature from the executive in practical terms?
How are they planning to fund infrastructure development practically (put real numbers on the table)?
Any possibility that, some individuals under the current regime who have hijacked the constitution by concealing information on the capability of the president to rule, they can be charged with treason or something serious like that?
I agree with Mushota……..for the first time
People of this Nation, Where is the spokes person for the president who has been so vocal on every thing concerning Sata? Why is the presidential voice equity George Chella? Has he been sacked from statehouse? There must be something fishy.
This is really getting out of hand! More delaying tactics, LIES and obfuscation!
Can someone please file a Writ of Habeus Corpus against the Government so that Sata can be found?
It seems this is the only way to make sure he is not actually dead or being held hostage by the Cartel.
Dear Pezzy, You have left your article hanging. Or is this your Part-1? So, should we expect Part -2? You have not mentioned the core matter that will make our Country graduate to the next level, namely, a credible and easy to understand IDEOLOGY thru which Zambians across the board would see a vision of themselves, hence own and rally behind. Our History in Zambia has shown that we made bigger strides forward when we rallied behind a credible ideology. Developed Countries have done that, and we do not need to re-invent the wheel. So, is Part -2 coming?
and that leader is HH and his Team
Anyone can be suspicious that something is very wrong with MCS, he leaves the country incognito arrives from an airport that citizens were not expecting him to. There are only two issues here the man is truly in a vegetative state or already dead and people are trying to cover up all the theft before they announce his death so that when they is a change of government there will be no audit trail of their corruption. I agree with the blogger who has been saying that we will never see MCS again. It is sad though for he is our President and he teased all those who were sick before this is why he cannot acknowledge his condition even Super Ken is like calm sea waters not saying a word.
Don’t allow a poor man without any truck record of creating wealth to rule as his preoccupation in government will be to outdo HH like Sata has been doing, hence his grabbing of RDA from the ministry into his backyard.
Excellent reflection – shall we continue the conversation by sharing similar reflections
@Mulenga-The next Leader has to be Godly and NOT the Free Mansons associated persons. This I can assure you will happen. The Presidency Seat is spinning round throwing away non-God Fearing persons. Zambia will have a Godly Jubilee President. The Presidency Seat will no longer now accept any un Godly person.Watch the space. It’s Not about man’s desires now,but it’s about God’s Will Be Done for Zambia.
my dear even as much as u ar right but these is jst yo own undstnd and views God is not the God of confusion but of older.wat of God asked us that where is the leader he gave us? wat wil u answer him? we dont even know wat has hapened to the curent president n here u ar preaching about next leader i think u ar too hungry fo power.moreover God is not a respector of man like human beings ati iyo aba niba BWALYA niba CHIPIMO niba HH or that this one is Lozi or Bemba or Tonga he/she cant rule Zambia no we ar o equal in his eyez.moreover he can even pick a nobody and anoints him to be a leader luk at PAUL the kiler in the bible, luk at the nobody DAVID luk at JOSEPH.so my dear u cant help God in findn who shud be a leader over his pipo he knows.
