Labour and social security minister Fackson Shamenda says there is no need for rumor mongering on how many jobs the pf government has created since they came into office.
Responding to concerns by stakeholders for government to clearly state how many jobs and specific sectors has so far benefited, Mr. Shamenda maintains that government has created more than 316,089 jobs since assuming power in September 2011.
Mr. Shamenda tells Qfm News the 316, 089 jobs have been created in various sectors of the economy between October 2011 and July this year.
Mr. Shamenda explains that his office is readily available to attend to those that have doubts in on how many jobs have been created.
He adds that government is not foolish to just begin telling the nation that over 300, 000 jobs have been created since assuming office in 2011.
The Labour Minister stresses that his office has the statistics and people should feel free to and inquire than gossip around.
Mr. Shamenda adds that its simple arithmetic which he knows well and there is nothing that will stop him from giving out the information sector by sector on how many jobs have been created.
Sweet ! Sign of a hard working government.
So true Mr.Shamenda, I counted the ladies with dusty hair waving flags at road construction sites on my last trip to the Copperbelt. Why don’t you show us the PAYE report form ZRA. Thy capture even exempt employees. Talk is cheap …but what would one expect from a PF minister?
Shamenda I can not dispute that because the 312000 jobs all went to one favoured tribe after replacing other tribes not prominent in PF, hence the feeling by many that no jobs were created.
The question now is ; are those jobs family sustaining or not? Do they pay people their money on time and not on the 45th day.
The number 316 089 is like the story of `healthy` Sata who remains mute, voiceless and hidden….FAKE!!!
If the government is creating jobs why is the government not employing???…… afew weeks ago government fire 182 youth in western province,,,,
and why is unemployment not reducing? still at 69%
WaNzelu
you mean SUSTAINABLE ,really ? is that what HH is paying for at Anglia Rusking university.
To answer your question, yes these jobs are sustainable.
That works out roughly to be 5000 jobs each week or 750 jobs each each day for the last 3 years or say 3 jobs each second and yet silly backwards people will refuse to give credit were it’s due
Thanks
@Robin
Stop spewing your ignorance and arrogance here please I beg of you.
Sustaining and Sustainable do not necessarily mean the same thing.
Family sustaining means providing enough income to support the family – in the context I used it.
Go back to school my friend before PF is booted out, because in the next government jobs will only be given to those who have qualifications that suit the job description, not through nepotism, and cronyism supported by tribalist PF.
PF + NEPOTISM + CRONYISM = TRIBALISM.
The above equation sums up the reasons why PF is run and controlled by tribalists.
300,000 includes Mushota and other youths that are being paid by PF to praise them on Facebook an LusakaTimes using free laptops.
And these jobs, should be properly analyzed. What categories are these;
1. what is the age group being employed
2.Is it permanent or chibombebombe jobs
3. Which sector of the economy is employee, i.e. mining, agriculture, manufacturing
4.what is the economic value of the jobs, is it consumption or creation of wealth and what is the net economic value
5. How much has the PAYE increased in the last 1 year
With this kind of analysis it will be easy to see if we are talking reach jobs or bias jobs for cadres and tribemen
Firing innocent people and replacing them with your relatives.
Let people praise you for what you have done for them and not yourselves. One thing which is making me crazy is the difference between borrowed money projects and the National revenue collection projects. Let us know how much money locally we have collected and it has done, also the borrowed money and what it has done. We heard of Eurobond to revamp the railway systems but we are disturbed to hear workers go on strike.
Keep it up ba PF. Jobs are what keeps leaders in power. They almost cost Obama an election.
Fack’s figures.
Fack’s figures………………………………..
There is Fackson giving himself a pat on the back for spending a substantial chunk of GDP to pay wages and allowance for inefficient civil service work force. This is a strawman argument that ignores the purpose of the selfsame “Jobs”, which is production and not merely employment. A job paid for by government is employment, but will cause no net gain in production, and will more likely cause a net reduction, as some resources are consumed administering the program. This is evident in our economy today where our government is unable to balance the books and resorting to heavy borrowing.
These leaders in power today like Fackson are leaders of yesteryear who need to be put to pasture…they are completely obsolete in today’s world.
Zambians wake up!!
If PF have created such jobs why is our GDP stagnant.More Jobs should result in more production,if it does not then we should ask ourselves were the jobs only created to feed pipo at the expense of hard working tax payers.Zambians lets focuse on production oriented jobs, were we can see and feel tangeable results. We shall see you mr Shamenda in 2016 or possibly soon during the presidential by election in Ndola central.
Oops this number has gone down from the number of jobs that were announced few months ago. What happened?
Shocking that this is a country… govt officials can just spew anything out of their mouths without any shame or consequences.
Didn’t they report a million jobs on some facebook page not too long ago? Who has the correct figures between Shamenda and the Facebook? I would rather believe the latter as more authoritative…. kikikikikiki
Obviously Sata has his own figures. This is a tired story LT, there’s so much activity around the world for you to report on!
Shamenda is the most useless fossil to Zambian workers. This mutant is only a useful Chipupa PF is using as a broom to sweep its dirty in Southern Province. Statistics reveal that 75% of real jobs are actually going to his pay masters’ kins in well known parts of the country.
The edited version of this comment emphasises that: Shamenda is the most useless fossil to the Zambian workers. This mutant Trade Unionist is the useful CHIPUBA (MUFUBAFUBA) PF is using as a broom to sweep its dirty in the minds of peoples of Western, Northwestern and Southern Provinces. Statistics reveal that 75% of real jobs are actually going to his pay masters’ kins in well known parts of the country.
pf can kiss my bottom
If we continue on this rate unemployment will be unheard of by 2016
@ JAY JAY
continue dreaming, but your young leader has failed to be gaining popularity from almost 40 %to 18%, just wait 2016
@ grand
using same statistics office as Shamenda?
Let’s get something straight here….I DO NOT support any political party my interests are for betterment of the Zambian People. You continue with your pathetic rhetoric and silly childish political debates…only when you take off your politically tinted glasses will you ever see where I’m coming from.
i can see you are outside Zambia are believing the lies of creating job, it is a blue lie they have put wage and recruitment freeze. ask from what number because the nurses at UTH have not all being replaced and teachers and other govt departments are retiring but have not being replace that number is not new employment increase.
what Shamende forgot to report is that those are part time jobs, when the roads are done, then what? the PF should be opening factories etc and create permanent jobs, then they can brag.
Infrastructure is key to the setting up of manufacturing plants, this is why I believe the govt has prioritised the construction of roads.
Yes, the PF government has done a commendable job but a lot more still needs to be done. Overall the PF government is doing a good job but there remain rotten eggs in the basket, there are too many civil servants and ministers alike that are messing up government plans and implementation. To be honest this government has created more jobs than any other government that has ruled Zambia, to this we must truely give credit where it is due..well done PF but please watch out for and mind the wolves in your midst.
@2020 vision
Do PF have any plans at all.which National plan do they follow show me.These can who are just borrowing and spending everything they have borrowed can claim to have any plans. They are buzy employing ther relatives on borrowed money. Can you enjoy your wedding ceremony from Kaloba Money. The day when you fail to pay back and the owner is on your neck even promising you that he will rape your new wife.IT is a disgrace to vote for Sub A president.Any one can speak English even my pre school child but can he or she drive concepts and be able to read the world trends.Thats Sata and the fosil Shamenda for you.
This is the reason why his boss was worried that the only thing Fackson knows is faking! MCS even got worried that the ladies in parliament were not safe with Fackson around. He has always failed in life apart from getting the ZCTU presidency from late FTJ because the MMD knew that the man had no fire power to take on them . ZCTU is dead and buried because of this faggot and now he can even have balls to say he has created employment?
He is as disorganized as his unshaven face.
At one time, we were told it was 600,000
Something seriously wrong here
@sidomark, without resorting to insults let me say overall more jobs have indeed been created. Whether you like it or not the road construction works have absorbed thousands of unemployed youth all over Zambia, no other government has done more to develop western province with major construction works underway there which are creating jobs, the mineing industry and the conducive environment the govt has created has seen so many thousands from Southern Province, the Copperbelt and Eastern find jobs in the mines of North Western Province. The agriculture sector too with new projects opening in Kawambwa in Luapula, Mpika in Northern and Mubwa in Central and that is a fact sir!! A lot still needs to be done true but the right people in govt are up to the task.
those with human and properly functional brains will recal that early this year. state house (through the president’s FB page) released job figures as being 600,000 what has happened to the other 300,000? i wud rather believe the president’s figures.
