The former ruling party the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) has stated that the party is not satisfied with the Mangango by-elections results.
MMD National Secretary Mhabi Lungu has said he is still waiting for a full report with regards to Mangango by-elections on what exactly transpired there.
Mr Lungu hinted that his party will hold a press briefing tomorrow to give a detailed report concerning the just ended by-election in Mangango.
And the Patriotic Front (PF) says its party is delighted for scooping the just ended Mangango Parliamentary seat in Western Province.
PF Media Director Chanda Mfula said the ruling party welcomes its victory with humility because people of Mangango and the entire nation are pleased with the PF agenda in developing Zambia.
Mr Chanda told ZANIS in an interview in Lusaka that some political parties were saying the Mangango by-elections were going to be a litmus test for the 2016 general election, a thing which he said has come true.
He stated that this has shown the opposition clearly that the PF will no doubt scoop the 2016 elections without difficulties.
Mr Mfula thanked the people of Mangango and electorates in the local government elections in which the PF won 18 out of the 25 ward by-elections.
This further shows that PF has a national character unlike some party only popular in southern province and whose leader came in on a tribal vote.

Victory is NO victory if it is achieved by arm twisting , vote buying and gun toting. PF has taught us the opposition something unseen before in Zambia; that is gun toting. PF is experiencing short bursts of euphoria soon to followed by long periods of anguish, confusion and fear of UPND for they know that victory in magongo was achieved through intimidation, vote buying, and gun toting.

Violent parties will go to the Hague whether instigators or responders, guns should not be allowed. Can human Rights commission step in and stop this backwardness since ECZ is incompetent,ineffective and weak. We were so democratic to the extend of KK calling for early elections two and half years before his constitutional term was over. In 1972, all the political parties in Zambia decided to join UNIP of their own volition during the Choma declaration.
Nineteen years later we allowed another party to be formed which in itself was not even a party, it was a movement called Movement for Multiple Party Democracy (MMD). This movement pressed for early elections and because we love democracy, even if we had 2 and half years left before the next election, we ratified the request through…
through parliament … we did not need to do that but we are peace loving, our cadres are the smartest and we do not engage in any kind of violence at all because to us, the first and real democratic party of the smart people of the Zambian Enterprise, Zambia Is Greater Than Any Single One Of Us!!!
I will go to my dieing grave a proud man as a UNIPist. You will never accuse of us of any rigging, vote buying, gun toting or any such thing. We showed Africa what it means to handle over power peacefully and that’s an impeccable record second to none.
