Zambia chase a winning start to their 2015 Africa Cup group F qualifiers when they host Mozambique at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Saturday.
The match will be coach Honour Janza’s first competitive match a week after winning his first game in charge in a 3-1 friendly win over Sudan in Lusaka on August 31.
Janza has stated that he is hoping his charges will continue on that same note on Saturday as Zambia look to record its third opening day win in an Africa Cup qualifier.
“Anticipations are always the same whether it is friendly or not a friendly. It is better to get a win all the time. I always aim to get 100 percent. Thats all I am aiming for,” Janza said.
“Mozambique are a good team. We shall take them seriously like we are playing Nigeria or Ghana so we will have to be better.”
Janza has indicated that he has a fit squad at his disposal with midfielder Rainford Kalaba given the all clear after nursing s strain sustained in last Sundays win over Sudan.
Expectations are also very high especially after last weekends team of mostly home based players complemented by the TP Mazembe contingent of Kalaba, Given Singuluma, Kabaso Chansa and Jonas Sakuwaha to convincingly beat Sudan.
Now now Janza has the injected power of Kennedy Mweene, Stopilla Sunzu, Nathan Sinkala, Chisamba Lungu, Christopher Katongo and Jacob Mulenga who are expected to headline at Levy.
Meanwhile, Zambia enjoy a health record over Mozambique with eleven wins, two draws heading into the two sides fourteenth meeting.
You have our support, sir. Go for it!
Why was Mayuka and Felix not mentioned, this kind of reporting brings confusion in team.
Ba LT I repeat:this is not spam unless you don’t know what spam is so let me comments on the issue instead of sending me petty stooped messages
Christopher Katongo?????
Can you imagine??? Chris Katongo, who hasn’t even scored at some South African club in division something.
you comment negatively on chris bt this man is dependeble and has a lot of experience so we shud not take the first games as walk overs no wonder we do panic at the last
After watching how Sudan got decimated by Bafan Bafan last evening, I have had to revise my assessment of Zambia’s performance against Sudan , and with that the strength of Janza’s charges.
I have my own reservations about how competitive the process for Janza’s appointment was. I suppose reality will only hit us when we start coming up against stern opposition. The euphoria from that Sudan win , is in my view, highly misplaced and premature. The Mambaas may force reality on us to look for a real coach. I hope I am wrong.
No you are not wrong my bulaza. And LT has been blocking this comment! Ala
Watching this game , I am not that impressed. Maamba’s game plan seems to be working. Zambia is not having any clear chances at Moz goal. And some overzealous cop has set off a tear gas cannister. 15 minutes to go and we have no goals yet. This performance against such opposition is very disappointing.
Players play for a coach. Janza not inspiring at senior level – and his tactics were poor. Moz coach was tactfully superior on the day.
@rotten ur sport on my man, we not going anywhere with a zed coach! just fima long balls No tacticts!! last time C.A.S was on my ass coz hez a failure like janza! we need a coach!!!! b4 its too late!
The draw was as bad as a loss. Mozambique know to expect a loss any time they come to Zambia so for them this was a victory. Our coach was completely out of his depth. There was no change of tactics from first half to second. Our energyless team played clue less football and anyone could predict all their next moves. There’s still time to get a world class coach.Janza or Chansa is perhaps a good assistant not a coach. El you ba LT you are taking too long to report on the game. In this day of IT a reporter doesn’t need to drive to the office to write the story. Nishani kanshi?
This game is truly an eye opener!with the great players we had @our disposal, failing 2 coordinate,no system.r we heading 4 doom or is it too early 2 judge.ni kaya kaya!!
