Kambwili tells UNZA students to shut up

MINISTER of Youth and Sport, Chishimba Kambwili,

Sports and Youth Minister Chishimba Kambwili has warned UNZA students not to dare him over the use of the Commonwealth Youth Centre located within the University grounds.

Some students have been mobilizing themselves with intentions of grabbing the centre in order for students to start using it for lecturers and accommodation.

But Mr Kambwili warned that he will personally ensure that students who will be involved in the takeover of the Commonwealth Centre are dealt with severally.

“Let them dare me, me I don’t tolerate nonsense. I’m a disciplinarian and you tell those UNZA students that they will meet the full wrath of the law,” Mr Kambwili said.

He said the Commonwealth Youth Centre was not established for use by UNZA students alone but for all the youths of Zambia.

“I don’t understand the reasoning of these UNZA students. Who told them that the centre was theirs alone? We have millions of youths in this country and that facility is to be shared.
They should just shut up or else they will regret,” he said.

Mr Kambwili said Government is trying hard to respond to the needs of the youth population adding that no segment of the youth population will receive preferential treatment.

  1. Whatever, background this minister has with education he seem to have issues with UNZA. The MoU is clear that this facility will be handed over to UNZA at the end of the specified period. What is so difficult for this minister to understand about such a clear contract?

Kabwili, do get a life and stop intruding in matters you have no jurisdiction. The write person to comment on this facility is the minister of education and the UNZA students. The only other person who may have a say are people who went through this institution. Yours Kabwili is to comment on Copperstone University.

    • Why was it built within the University grounds? If the university has title to the land on which the center was built, then it is UNZA property.

    • This !diot is always running his mouth over matters that do not concern him. He thinks yapping in the media is working. Look at the shananigans going on in sport. Utterly embarrassing. Bloody Copperstone..Anyway, what do you expect when you have an absentee landlord?

    • Mr Kambwili is just a problem.
He grabbed a golf course for his goats in Roan, yapping that ” its not government responsibility to educate citizens”, almost punched the soccer referee, threatening to fire workers at UNZA radio and incompetently frustrating the national soccer team which has underperformed at his helm.
I think comrade Kambwili needs help with etiquette and values of respecting other peoples factual opinions.
Sausages Lips are increasingly popular in PF and the citizens have hang wire ones.

    • Kambwili’s level of literacy is questionable. That’s not leadership but silliness by himself. The Youth Center is within UNZA Facility so what the hell. I think UNZA Students should show him that he is not above the Law. They should fish him out of his office and forced to be kicked out like Wynter.

    • yes, Mr Minister sir discipline those children at unza. they think they’ve learnt alot and yet when they graduate (some of them) they fail to produce anything.

  2. This government formed mostly by illiterates do not comprehend the importance of a university.Kambwili should not insult the leaders of tomorrow. Why was that Youth centre built on university grounds?

  3. IMWE, LISTEN KA!!!
Idi Amin Dada, Field Marshall, Destroyer of the British Empire, Lord of the fishes in Sea, & Animals on land, has spoken!!

  4. All what you see around Zambia is mediocre! be football, politics and politicians, social life, Zesco, water utilities, sports etc the list is endless. Zambia need total over haul. No more illiterate politicians and this include Sata, Kambwili, GBM etc. The country has got so much potential unfortunately we have no political managers to steer this might ship in the right direction. Surely how do you expect people like sata who practice ancient politics of tribalism to succeed in this modern era? We are all black but he thinks other blacks are more black than others

  5. This minister needs to be dealt with by the students please next time he sets foot on UNZA beat the hell out him that should be a no go area for this f.o.o.l.i.s.h chap, I pity those kids who call him dad because they deserve better. Than this low life

  6. he has never and will never be an UNZA student..he doesn’t know and understand what really goes on in the student’s minds..he has never been to university..

  7. Can someone leak that MOU to the Post or ZWD so we can see its contents? This idea of quoting documents without any proof is a little droopy.

  8. As a former student of the YUNZA, I have been to the commonwealth many many times. Much as it seems crazy of Kambwili to try and keep the students away from the facility, consider these facts:
    1. The Commonwealth Youth Centre has about 30 single rooms
    2. The place has about 4 classrooms
    3. The remaining space is about 6 offices plus a full kitchen and dining hall complemented by a bar

Now, really what accom problem will this facility address at YUNZA. I say students should push for more meaningful solutions like press govt to build the equivalent of the Ruins as in at least 10 blocks of residences instead of pushing to occupy a place which wont sort out their problems (God knows how they would decide who occupies those thirty rooms!)

Lastly, the place is, as Kambwili….

  9. ..rightly points out is for ALL YOUTH of Zambia not just the already privileged few studying at UNZA. The place must be preserved for use by all not just YUNZA students just like the OYDC is.

I end here and welcome constructive criticism

  10. Most of you so called unza stundents dont even qualify to be called students but pupils. what you display in reasoning is always that of grade sevens. any i dont blame you all.what do you expect when most of you ,you are there out of cheating. infact most of you are not even surpose to be there.out of leakages you found yourselves there. yes ,im talking about you,all of you cheaters. you know yoselves. you are the chaps who makes a lot foolish noise at that institution. stop being used by some of these individuals who thinks they will ever rule zambia.your reasoning does agree with high learned students but that of high cheaters.

    • @ nokia can you imagine you friends manage to pass with leakage like you are saying but you failed even after studying leaked for one month

  11. Does this government have a boss. Where is the president or even the Vice President to advise this chap. Anyway the problem in this party is that every one is boss.

  12. Kambwili is a troubled man struggling for recognition characterised by his big ego, bullying nature and inferiority complex. Has been for some time now throwing his weight around carelessly like he has mental health issues. He needs to be stopped.

  13. How come that so few people have something meaningful to contribute to a topic?
I am occasionally reading the Lusakatimes and am aghast about all the personal insults traded in the “comments”; most of the times, they have nothing to do with the issue but simply provide a forum for a few ‘regular contributors’ to insult each other in public.
Is there no way to stop this?

  14. Copperstone Graduate, Am told he was the best student with a distinction! No looks no skopo. discipline your mouth first

    • How do you just go and talk about someone’s looks. If we were to get a photo of you and compare with that of Kambwili, maybe he even looks better. But because you are hiding behind the internet we will never know your looks.

  15. Time to admonish Kambwili is now: why is this man always at daggers drawn with all sorts of people, both within PF, and outside PF. The reason for all to see is simple. Kambwili is one of the leaders in PF bent on destroying that party. The earlier top decision-makers in PF took decisive and prompt action against Kambwili, the better!

  16. This man is a blot on Zambia’s politics. I’m made to believe beyond the reasonable doubt that he is suffering from knowledge deficiency, hence he loathes these future brain baskets of Zambia.

  17. I FIND UNZA STUDENTS ALWAYS WASTING THEIR ACADEMIC TIME MOSTLY ON MATTERS THAT ARE SO UN ACADEMIC. PLEASE, PUT YOUR BRAINS AND ENERGY ON ACADEMIC STUFF AND NOT ON DEMOS, RIOTS. ALWAYS BEING IN CONFRONTATION DOES NOT PAY. OR IS IT A WAY OF DODGING TOUGH STUFF. KAMBWILI HAS A POINT. EVEN IF THE MoU SAID THE BUILDINGS WILL BE GIVEN TO UNZA, I AM SURE THERE’S A ROAD MAP TO THAT AND THAT ROAD MAP SHOULD BE FOLLOWED. ONCE STUDENT LOANS START GRZ MUST ENSURE THAT LOANS COVER ACCOMMODATION SO THAT STUDENTS RENT PRIVATE ROOMS AND IN THE PROCESS THIS WILL TEACH THEM TO BE RESPONSIBLE. EVEN THE PROVIDED HOUSING MUST BE OFF CAMPUS.

    • When you are young you are a radical. Questioning, and throwing shadows of your angst against the wall.

THIS IS INTERNATIONAL. London saw terrible university riots 2010, marches as soon as there was a threat to the right to education.

Be patient with the kids. They will not have time for this when they come out in industry, bills to pay, food to provide for the family. Let them enjoy their hormones!

  18. Kambwili is right! UNZA students are not the only youths in the country. There is a lot of Land around UNZA. Why cant the student complain about the shopping mall being built, the University should have pressed for a public private partnership in building sleeping space. Will 30 rooms at the commonwealth solve problems for 3000 students. I doubt the calibre of union leaders

    • I am sure the University will be getting money from the shopping mall. If you go to American or Canadian universities, you will be amazed by the businesses that are part of the ‘campus village’. Shopping malls are just one of the sources of funds for the university.

  19. Can’t someone stick a brick in this faggot’s head? Just castrate him when he comes to UNZA. He is Copperstone material. This thug of a minister.

  20. What I don’t get is why this pin-head is still a minister. President Sata, please return this ape back to the woods where it came from.

  21. To be ugly is fine if you are not dull. To be dull is fine if you are not ugly. BUT to be BOTH Ugly and Dull, like Kambwili, is a curse. You can’t be that unlucky right from birth!!! Even if you have money, you still need atleast to have a bit of brains or be palatable to the eye….but, NO, not in Kambwili’s case. Even his money can’t help him. On top of that, he has a big i.d.i.o.t.i.c mouth that can’t seem to know when to shut up. I mean, Kambwili doesn’t need any more bad luck in life, he has enough of it already – even the Devil fears him.

  22. For dimwits such as Kambwili Disciplinarian=Bully=Dictator. For us Zambia=Democracy. Democracy and Dictators don’t go together. Therefore Kambwili should leave Zambia for Saudi Arabia. Thanks

  23. Imwe bantu, this man has a disorder, it must be medical. There are so many people complaining about him and they can’t all be wrong. The appointing authority should disappoint him since it is clear that he does not know his way around many issues. UNZA school of medicine should also take an interest to find out what disorder this guy has. Who knows, they could find a new one… ”Kambwinsons syndrome” or other……

  24. Kambwili you sir are a double agent, I believe you are misplaced in saying those things about UNZA students. Where were you when we hosted Sata at UNZA dialogue when he had only 12 supporters including a a very tall and sickly looking bodyguard. I love PF and I love UNZA students movement (not necessarily UNZASU), UNZA students have always been there for Zambia I believe Hon Kambwili you are fighting a losing battle unless these students are not capable of standing the heat otherwise the UNZA monks I know, just a handful of them are enough to make minsiters lose their jobs.

  25. leave the Minister alone you docile Zambians bunda bwa kulanda landa kwati finshi mwingacita .twatendwa naimwe no kushishita
