Government has thanked the Zambian people for giving the late president Michael Sata a dignified send-off.
Chief Government Spokesperson Joseph Katema said he is pleased that Zambians across tribe, religious and political diversity turned up in large numbers and came together to mourn and give President Sata a dignified funeral befitting a leader who rendered humble and selfless service to the nation
Dr. Katema, who is also Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services commended the Zambia Defence Forces for the meticulous and professional manner they conducted the entire funeral procession of the late head of state who was their Commander-In-Chief.
He also commended Police officers for enforcing law and order during the period of national mourning and also the media for the professional coverage of the state funeral.
The Minister further paid tribute to the provincial and district administrations, civic and religious leaders, traditional rulers and leaders across the country for bringing the people together in their respective localities to mourn the late departed president.
Dr. Katema said the spirit of one-ness has distinguished Zambians on the globe as an oasis of peace for the past 50 years of independence.
He disclosed government’s commitment to peace and unity as the country heads for the presidential by-election next year.
You shold be grateful that Zambians are peace loving people ……. can you imagine if half of us were panga weilding people?
Katema was one of those lying through his teeth about the late president’s health. Is there no law to deal with the recklessness of how these PF goons dealt with the president’s illness?

Katema, most of us are reasonable people unlike you people in Govt. During the period our president was ill, you kept on telling us lies that the president was fit and working in state house. By so doing, you denied us an opportunity to offer prayers for our president and to make specific request to our Almighty God to mend our president. When you saw that the situation was serious, you still gave us half truths by telling us that he had gone for medical review. The only true information you gave us was about his demise. In other customs, you would have been made to bury him alone but thank Zambians they do not behave like PF rulers. PF rulers are liars to the bone!! Kuya bebele. If you have not yet started packing from the Govt house, you better start with immediate effect.
Ba Katema, that’s when you are making your statement. Too late, the President in waiting HH made his statement first thing in the morning. Viva UPND that was a smart move you took them by surprise.
We are not talking about HH here, we are talking about Sata’s funeral. HH will loose the election. Mark my words! PF will scoop with a landslide victory. They are even more popular. Look at the way Zambians mourned him. You will cry baba.
