OLD RUPIAH DOES NOT OFFER ANYTHING NEW
As MMD youths, we have restrained ourselves from commenting on the recent happenings in our much loved political party because we believed that our leaders in the National Executive Committee will rise above the challenges that besiege the MMD.
We have used this time to mobilise and interact with our members countrywide in order to consolidate our position ahead of the January 20 presidential election.
Today, we feel it is important that we put our position forward on what is happening in the MMD.
We have worked hard with our youthful members over the last three years to keep the MMD afloat. We can therefore not continue to keep the silence as the party’s integrity gets butchered by the day.
The purported return of Rupiah Banda into the MMD is nothing but a desperate scheme by old men to continue looting the resources of this great nation.
We know that Rupiah Banda cannot offer anything new to the MMD and the nation. He is old, out of ideas and merely greedy.
Mr Banda is finding some level of solace from a few disgruntled NEC members whom he is paying to support his failed crusade.
As Die Hards, we practice our politics with the real people. These are the same people that influence our work. The people have told us that they are not interested in having an old man in State House.
We also took keen interest in studying Mr Banda’s speech which he delivered at the MMD Secretariat accepting to be adopted for the presidential election.
It however saddens us that Mr Banda did not offer anything new in his statement.
He spoke about the same things he spoke about when he lost power in 2011. These are the same things that he promised Zambia, he failed to do them and he was voted out.
Mr Banda and his cohorts such as Lucky Mulusa and Muhabi Lungu should not think Zambians are foolish or naive and have easily forgotten what they went through under Mr Banda’s administration.
For Muhabi, we now humbly agree with our dear Sister Dora Siliya that Muhabi is incompetent and cannot run a Secretariat for a major political party like the MMD.
What else do you expect from a man who cannot keep a job? This is the same man who is taken care of by his old father, Mkhondo Lungu and the wife. Muhabi is jobless and senseless.
Zambians are witnesses to his misrule which ended the MMD’s 20 year stay in power.
Mr Banda is mistaken to think Zambians can easily welcome him and embrace his old and tired vision of getting back into power. The small crowd at Mr Banda’s Mtendere rally should help to convince the man that Zambians have long forgotten about him.
The so called launch rally in Mtendere cannot be compared to the huge crowd that gathered to welcome Dr Nevers Mumba in Chinsali on Saturday.
If Mr Banda fails to draw a decent crowd in a densely populated compound like Mtendere on a Sunday afternoon, how does he expect to garner enough votes to return to State House?
As MMD Die Hards, we will protect the heart and soul of the party by ensuring that Mr Banda is not on ballot paper come January 20 2014.
This former President is not only disgracing himself by returning to active politics. He is also disgracing his family and disgracing the aged population.
His actions to attempt to hijack the party are desperate, ill advised and selfish. Mr Banda should be ashamed for attempting to crawl back into politics using illegal means.
Zambians are now resolved that they will give themselves a younger President like Dr Nevers Sekwila Mumba. The tragedies we have undergone as a nation over the last few years are to an extent due to the advanced ages of some of our leaders.
The young people of Zambia have vowed that Mr Banda is no longer relevant to the political dispensation. He is too old and his ideas are old and tired. He has nothing new to offer. Zambians deserve better and Dr Nevers Mumba is the better option.
This is the same greedy and selfish man whose administration instigated the Mongu killings. This is the same greedy and selfish man who increased his salary when President Levy Mwanawasa’s body was still in a mortuary in France. He had no decency to mourn his friend Levy Mwanawasa who picked him up from his farm, in dirty gumboots and made him Vice President.
When look at Mr Banda, all you see is greed and selfishness written all over his big face.
MMD youths, we have now officially labelled Mr Banda as MMD’s enemy number one.
We shall never regard him a statesman because he does not deserve to be called such. He is our opponent and we shall treat him as such. Rupiah Banda has re-entered the political ring and should expect to be bruised and bruised he will.
The amount of greed that is inside Mr Banda is difficult to understand. This is the same man who is insisting that his retirement benefits should be paid even now that he has returned to politics.
Zambians have now resolved to rally behind Dr Mumba and usher him into State House on January 20 2015 for he offers the only hope for our great nation. Zambians are looking for a younger President, Christian and God fearing with upright morals.

do we expect to win an election with such? there is no way forward for the two groups apart from injuring each other.
My advice is, please, find a better & wise solution to this problem or quit.

Bowman Lusambo has actually won my heart for his steadfastness. For a man of a sizeable political influence on the ground, every political party would want to wave a few dollars in his face to get him on their side.
Not with Lusambo. He’s stood by what he believed in from the start, the democratic MMD project.Most so called “politicians ” change sides with the flow of the wind at every election. For that I find time to listen to he’s got say on a lot of accasions.
This is one such, it’s factual and from the heart. If Zambian politics had more of Bowman Lusambos and less of MuMunkombwes, people will believe again.

Disgruntled Mulusa and disgraceful Muhabi want to take over the paper after 20th January knowing RB won’t win. I am even wondering if RB has a brain. If he had he could not have continued after members mmd NEC decided to support an opposition candidate. This shows that RB was not endorsed by NEC but brown enveloped cadres. NEC members are now supporting an opposition candidate because RB is difficult to sale.

Have you analysed what they are offering or have you been offered brown envelopes? Let’s learn to assess what each leader is offering and scrutinise on policy matters rather than trying to force your preferred choice on everyone. Stop using words you don’t understand. Reporting that someone should not stand purely because you dislike them or they are too old is outright discrimination. What’s the difference between calling someone old or under five? Rather than looking for character assassination, why can’t the author of the article compare the candidates and offer his opinion rather than pick on one person and try to convince everyone of their biased opinion? Which democratic country have you seen do that? If RB has nothing to offer, let the people decide not you!
Yes RB was tried, tested and failed when he had all the powers. The old man needs some rest. I saw the disappointment on his face as he addressed a ‘huge’ rally in Mutendere. RB of yester years is not RB of today. He reminded me of Sata, the day he appeared in the magistrate court. I doubt RB will have the energy to go around the country.
in as much as i like your comfidence mr lusambo, i tend to wonder weather you are really up for the development of this nation. At the moment when we are crying for fresh blood on the political scene all you seem to do is make noise and want to remain youth leader…. When are you going to stand up and get involved in REAL politics even just at councilor level then evolve to MP. We want to see your real ambitions and not just SPEAKING at any given chance. Here is me thinking that Campaign 03 AKA Campaign Banda is actually running on the Reality Show ‘More of the Same’ platform. He is actually quite openly offering nothing new and proud to do so.

These are illusionists who just follow blindly like headless chickens. when someone promises to turn the Zambezi river into free flowing beer, you’ll see them strip to their underwear in jubilation and break out in to a dance before turning on each other.
