Some Youths in Luapula province have vowed to teach PF a lesson

Some youths in luapula province have vowed to teach the PF a lesson for not fulfilling their promises which they made during the 2011 general elections.

The youths who wanted an audience with FDD leader Edith Nawakwi said they voted for the PF in 2011 because of the hope uplifting their livelihoods but that it remains a promise with no signs of that ever happening.

The youths who spoke through Anthony Chomba said they were promised that Mansa Batteries will be reopened to help absolve some of the unemployed youths in the province but that is remains a promise three years down the line.

He explained that the challenges in the province are compounded by the lack of economic activities as most companies have either been sold to foreign owners who have failed to run them or they have been shut down.

Chomba said the situation has lead to most youths engaging in illicitly activities hence the need to vote in a leader who will ensure that their needs are addressed.

Meanwhile, Luapula Province FDD Campaign Manager Alfred Mwape said it is possible to address their problems and that the solution was note the reopening of old companies but to find other economic activities suitable to the situation in the province.

Mr. Mwape said if people continue demanding for the reopening of old companies politicians will continue feeding them with the same lies even when they know that it is not possible to reopen these institutions.

The campaign manager who was tasked to address the youths by the president said it was important for the youths to understand that the companies the politicians talk about reopening are in bad states hence whoever is promising to reopen them just wants their vote.

He added that the province would be better off if leaders promised to pump money into the agriculture sector as the province is endowed with plenty of water and good soil as opposed to empty promises.

He explained that the province shares the boarders with Democratic Republic of Congo which imports a lot of agriculture products such maize and beef products but that the market has been left to countries that are far from them such South Africa when the province can be turned into the bread basket of the neighboring country.

He also said the province has huge mining potential which should be developed and help absorb some of the unemployed youths in the province.

    • Agriculture extension services have let down Luapula for an aggressive approach is needed! Look at the expanse of plains or grassland even livestock production is of great possibility and potential.

  1. Luapula is kind of big; there’s nchelenge, samfya, mwasabombwe, kawambwa, mansa. Anyway its just “some youths in luapula” has reported. Coz even if Mansa Battery was already opened; still was gonna have “some youths” complaining about the government. There’ll always be people complaining against any form of human government. Jesus said “you will always have the poor with you..”

  2. Trouble with Zambian expectations is that we expect to just reap and reap without ever sowing. There is still this mindset that someone will employ someone else and the employed will then retire on the job come what may. I hardly hear the Zambian electorate proposing what they are doing and how government can meet them halfway. It is always about GETTING and TAKING. Small wonder you are all always up for deception by every Tom, Dick and Harry. Even Jill and Sarah will jump on the deceiving trail now…

  3. Youths please find something to do …not always complaining while you do nothing. You cant even cultivate a maize field….change this lazy attitude.

Peace nd Prosperity to Mother Zambia.

  4. Propanganda at its best! Did you expect PF to fulfil all their promises in 3 years….? Lets be realistic in our comments…! To the contrary, PF is on course to fulfil their promises as evidently seen from the many developmental programmes they have initiated…! Lets give them time and blame them after 10 yrs if they fail not now!!! VIVA continuity!!!!!

  5. Please quit this nonsense of ever complaining. There’s more these youths can do. Land is plenty in Luapula they are better of tiling the land and grow crops than these useless jobs they are craving for. Am 44 years old but planning to stop work and venture into farming. Kukonda mooba ba nyamata aba.

  6. Elo Luapula is endowed with plenty of water and good soils. These politicians come from the same descendant and will forever feed you on lies

  7. 50 years of independence na live debate tetitukwate pathetic candidates, pathetic supporters and pathetic system ofobebila no accountability at all and bak olwe busy posting there party shi.t i pitty the children of zambia if there elders are idio.ts like these, i dont c a bright future why vote even when they are all selling smoke wake up
ba monk dont be foolish the nations future is at stake here,,,,,,,,Kopala swag uwafulwa lwakwe

  8. Free advice. Waiting for any particular government to create employment for you may take centuries but if you are a human being created in the image of God with five senses is an indication that there is still a lot you can do to create employment. Unemployment is a problem the world is facing. For example, SA has a very good economy but employment is one of the biggest challenges the government is facing.
Land is one factor of production that you can take advantage of and utilize properly and you will find yourself to be an employer.
Much as the government should create an enabling environment we can as well do our part and a lot of people have done and those are the most we see to be successful.

The white men say whatever the mind can imagine is achievable.

  9. You the youths in Luapula who think that by bringing in a new leader your problems will be solved! Those are wishful thinking. Whoever you will bring into State House will not address all your problems, more especially if you cannot put in effort.
