Kanyama Member of Parliament Gerry Chanda has dismissed media reports attributed to him saying that the Patriotic Front (PF) will crumble without members such as Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba popularly known as GBM.
In an interview in Chinsali today, Colonel Chanda said the story carried by a local tabloid suggesting that the PF would crumble if Honourable Mwamba leaves the party are unfounded and should be dismissed with the contempt it deserves.
Colonel Chanda who is also Muchinga province Minister said that he is a serious and strong supporter of the PF who also believes in the leadership of party president Edgar Lungu.
He said that what was reported by the local tabloid that the PF will crumble if GBM leaves the party is a total fabrication.
Colonel Chanda said that he cannot sink so low as to discredit a party he has supported to where it is at the moment.
He has since challenged journalists to be professional in their execution of duties and ensure that they report objectively and the truth.
Colonel Chanda has also challenged GBM to resign from the PF if he thinks that he was a factor in the PF so that he could be met in the battle field in a by-election.
The local tabloid yesterday carried a story attributed to Colonel Chanda suggesting that GBM who has since endorsed Hakainde Hichilema in the January 20, 2015 by- election would make the PF crumble if he leaves the party.
Meanwhile, the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) in Mbala District in Northern Province has called on Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba to resign from the party and form his own party.
Addressing journalists in Mbala this morning, Mbala District Chairperson Matilda Lungu says Mr. Mwamba was wrong to insinuate that PF members in Northern Province have endorsed the candidature of UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema.
Mrs Lungu says Mr.Mwamba has no people in Mbala district stating that the people who attended his press briefing in Kasama were paid to say what they said.
Mrs. Lungu has since challenged Mr.Mwamba to resign from the PF so that he see that he is not popular in Northern Province.
And Mbala Constituency Chairman Ackim Simukoko says Mr.Mwamba is not as popular in the PF as he claims.
He says Kasama Central lawmaker should emulate former PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba and form his own political party rather than bringing confusion in the ruling party.

Sept 6,2013:As the results for Mkaika Constituency bye elections pierced through the hearts of PF members last night, PF sources immediately pointed fingers at the raucous Defence Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM), who they have accused of costing the party the elections.
“Wherever GBM has been leading campaigns, we have lost elections. He was campaign manager in Muchinga Constituency and we lost to Howard Kunda, when we should have easily won. He was in the forefront of the campaigns in Chipata and Mkaika, where he overshadowed the campaign manager, Edgar Lungu, and look at the results,” the sources complain.
“It shows that people do not appreciate GBM and you cannot make him the face of the campaigns. It’s like whenever people see him they get irritated. He brings so much…
He brings so much confusion, has no courtesy and he brags a lot. Zambians don’t like people who brag. They hate boastful people. We as PF must know that. So GBM is a liability,” the emotional sources add.
“He went to Mkaika with a lot of thugs from Lusaka just like he did in Chipata. Thugs who were fighting other PF members. Well, we’ve been punished. Particularly, people of Eastern Province do not like aggressive people. GBM comes across as aggressive.”
The sources say GBM’s ‘senseless’ endorsement crusade has clearly been rejected by the people as evidenced by the landslide defeat of the ruling party.
“We should be spending time explaining what we are doing for the people. We must focus on development. Miles Sampa [Commerce Deputy Minister] was right to caution against these…

Why would the deputy governor be party of these people be part of this group of PF party people? Is she bankrolling their manoeuvres or is she making sure her job is secure? Did they appoint her? These are the undesirable anomalies. The lady should be compiling economic indicators. We are not asking for too much, just to compile after all she is an administrator. She looks like she is a nice woman but to be honest she is behaving badly and she should stop.

Ours is a country that loves to vote for mediocre candidates, then complain bitterly when things go wrong. Take a look at the guys who were persecuted by the PF regime, most of them have now regrouped and giving support to PF. Former father is one example. How many times did the former father apologise to Zambians for having campaigned for PF?
